Just watching this now (2023). Sara with bangs! Fun. Review and positive energy still holds up six years later. Y’all are enjoyable to watch, the kind of folks you’d want as neighbors and the kind of folks with which to share a dram. Nice review. Thanks.
Simply WOW! For a while I've been trying some $40 bottles as an intro. Finally picked this one, first Forester bottle. After my wife telling how sexy the name "Prohibition style" was. Just drank a glass, texted my wife at work and said, this is one of the best bourbons I have had thus far. If you are looking for a $55+ drink, this is it.
I was completely blown away by the 1920 on a recent trip to Kentucky ! Chad and Sara really nailed it!! Highly recommended and well worth the price. The finish is nothing like you'd expect from a higher proof bourbon, BUT it let's you know it's there :)
Nice to watch you guys together. You really compliment each other. OF 1920 and 1910 are two of my favs but I usually add water to the 1920..........delicious!
Just finally found out of state. I’m in PA and 1897 & 1890 are in stores. Found the 1920 in Ohio and had to get. Can’t control myself...prob spent $800 in last 3 months on bourbon, Irish whiskies, and scotch.
You guys are so dedicated and experienced, I feel I can ALMOST taste the whiskies. Plus you're so fun to watch....as I sip along. Lists of labels to try. Thanks guys.
This is 2018 and I finally found this out of state. I probably could have ordered this, but the hunt is part of the reward. Anyway, I find this very aromatic and better than many lower proof bourbons. If it weren’t for Sara and Chad, I wouldn’t have even looked for this!
Saw this in your video listing and had to see your take on it. I had to laugh when you pulled out the other Old Forester bottles and one of them was the 1870. A buddy of mine got a bottle of it. When he uncorked it, he said he freaked out! He showed me a pic he took of what happened and I couldn't believe it either. Only HALF of the cork came out! Yep! Must have been a bad cork! the bottom half of it was still stuck in the bottle. It completely ripped itself in half. He said he had to get a metal skewer and very carefully pull out the rest of the cork. He was so worried about having it fall into the bourbon and it become a flotation device (yuck), or worse as he was stabbing it with the skewer, getting little bits and pieces of the cork all down into it! He did get it out without issue, but it took some very careful surgical maneuvering with that skewer! He must have been really good at playing the operation game when he was little! Ha! Thanks for the review on the 1920! Will most likely grab a bottle when i see it. May the 4th be with you!
Just cracked my first bottle of this as watching this review, maple syrup is dead on. Lots of brown sugar, nice thick rich flavor. Surprisingly, very little burn. Really, really great pour. Cheers 🥃
This has been on my “list” and my wife just surprised me with a bottle for my birthday. Amazeballs. Just a touch of ice/water, and it is super rich, complex, and so so tasty. I’m not the best at describing, but I get deep molasses and brown sugar. And the nose....mmm.
Watching this in Aug. 2020. Wow! They have come a long way. Sara is still pretty cute (love the hair). Oh, love the 1920. I need to pick one up tomorrow while I am out.
I really like this one too. The first time I sipped this one there was a flavor I couldn’t quite place but it took me back to the first time I tried a lifesavers butterscotch candy haha. My favorite thing about this one is how well it takes water. It considerably lowers the burn but keep all those classic bourbon notes right in your face 😋😋😋
I like Old Forester. I've been sipping on the OF Signature 100 Proof for a bit and it's delicious. I think I'll be getting the Bottled in Bond expression next to compare (both being 100 proof I think it's fair enough). At $20ish for 750 ml of bourbon it's hard to beat for value.
OK,.. so I'm not the only one that looked at Sara and went WOW! I watch the new stuff and she is beautiful of course, here she is gorgeous. Interesting to be lookin' back 5 years.
Just tried. It is now one of my favorites. New top fine. Not in any order Woodford double oak Old forester 1920 Angels envy Burning chair Bulleit 10 year
Hey thanks for all the fun videos. I got a bottle of 1920. I really really like it. What would be some less expensive bourbons with similar profile? I’m going for yummy!
In June of 2021, I paid $52 and change at my local liquor store in CedarHill, Texas. It is well worth. It's sweet up front with a burn in the finish. Holds up well with ice or a little water and makes a great "Old Fashioned".
@@sabrethemoment6799 just bought this tonight in vanvouver canada $80...old forester is easy to get here but 1910 & 1920 hard to come by....so had to get it
I'm a very begginer in bourbon world, but I've been lucky enough to get a few premium bourbons, most single barrel/barrel proof (Knob Creek, Four Roses, Elijah Craig). Despite the fact I'm having a hard time trying to properly get flavors out of 120+ proof whiskeys, Old Forester 1920 is the one that really shined between them all, for its distintic profile. Loads of caramely banana, read fruits. You guys call it jammy, if I'm getting it right. Very very good, indeed. Would you recommend more whiskies like it? I loved it!
Debated grabbing this last night, and didn't. Then saw this video today while finishing my binge watching of your show since discovering it like a week ago. Now I'll have to buy it. Great show. You've got bourbon love in chicago.
It's Bourbon Night Koval Distillery. Journeymans and New Holland Brewery both make good bourbon in MI and distro here. North Shore distillery is kinda growing, but I wouldn't waste my time on them tbh.
Which off the self bourbon should I buy next. I am just finishing up four roses single barrel and loved it! I thought the Elijah Craig barrel proof was too hot for me to enjoy, not a fan of adding water or ice. Do you think 1920 will be too hot for me? Thanks
Buddy Blue It's a little hard to say since I love barrel proof and high proof bourbons and ryes, but my instinct is that you'll like the 1920 and it won't be too hot for you. It's 115 proof, but drinks more like a 100 proof or so. If you like a creamy, peanut tasting, barrel influenced drink, then I think you'll like the 1920. Hope this helps and let us know what you think of it if you end up picking up a bottle! I would also recommend Henry McKenna single barrel if you haven't tried it yet. It's 10 years, bottled in bond, around $30 and it's a solid drink.
It's Bourbon Night thank you for the quick response. My local liquor store has their own barrel of Four Rose Single Barrel aged 9.5 years recipe OESK. It's between this and the 1920. They are the same price. Any advice?
Buddy Blue Hard to say with a store pick. OESK is usually a very loved recipe, but store picks are a crap shoot. I've had great ones and I've had huge disappointments. It all depends on who's doing the picking. Some places purposefully pick something that tastes "different", but different isn't always good to everyone. Since your last bottle was 4 Roses, I say go with something else. Of course, store licks are limited and do run out. See if they'll give you a little taste of their pick!
It's Bourbon Night... correction, I am presenting finishing of the tails of the EC barrel proof and enjoying very much! I watched a vid last night about drinking high alcohol whiskey in a wide mouthed glass. Makes all the difference! Conclusion is I am going to buy the 1920 then get my hands on the Four Roses shortly after. I will let you know my thoughts. Keep up the vids! Bourbon distillers etc should be shipping you boats loads of product for free because of your fantastic efforts. Keep it up, they'll come around.
Rocking a bottle of this! Thanks for the rec. Def a great sipper... getting the maple syrup you suggested with a lot of vanilla and very little alcohol on the nose but can still tell it's a hot one. Fireball on the palate then that late slow burn you said. Thanks, and keep up the great vids!
Geez louise, Sara is certainly more intoxicating and alluring than any bourbon in existence. Can we just take a moment to appreciate those bold nails? #crackertime
Thank you for all your posts! Your channel is my go to for wanting to get opinions on different bottles. Not to mention, I love to taste along with you guys and see what notes I’m smelling/tasting! I'm brand new to It's Bourbon Night........., Sara is the reason. Sorry John. Brad. Chad, whatever. Anyways I'm playing catch up which is awesome. Sara, this hairstyle.....😎👍
In California there are drug store chains that carry a full line of alcoholic beverages. CVS and RITE AID are examples. CVS has their own house label, "JETHRO T BOOTS Kentucky Straight Bourbon" that is produced at Blantons by Buffalo Trace I assume. I might have the at and by backwards. ??? It's $9 for a 750. way late to the party on this episode. i am having a bit of a giggle that it never occurred to either of them to just flip the straw over after she cracked it.
Curious do you prefer this over Old Forester bottled in bond? Have the 1870 original batch and like it. Almost like a richer more refined Woodford reserve which makes sense as they have the same master distiller.
Wow this 1920 is Tha Bomb! deep rich flavors and aromas. more heat/bite at the end than other barrel proofs I have tried but not in a bad way, big long finish. Fun to taste neat but varying amounts of water unleashes the Marshmallow cream brûlée. Chris Morris is master distiller of both and they are both owned by Brown Forman. Cant help but notice the similarities in flavor profile.
Was very let down by the hype surrounding this bourbon. Excited I found a lone bottle sitting on the shelf in small Illinois town and picked it up. Opened it tonight and was overwhelmed with Acetone and nail polish on the nose. The taste was much improved over the nose, but I didn't think it was anything special. I will revisit it soon, and hope it opens up a bit.
I totally agree with you on this. Unless this opens up to smooth out the polish acetone flavors to reveal the grain flavors I would pass on this whiskey.

Absolutely!
Old Forester is a secret Tip :-) Really gooooooooooooooooooooooooood
Picked a bottle of this up today, along with the 1897 version. Looking forward to uncorking them. 🥃
Nice to watch you guys together. You really compliment each other. OF 1920 and 1910 are two of my favs but I usually add water to the 1920..........delicious!
Bought the most recent version of this Bourbon today. Amazing! You both often sing the praises of this bourbon.
Just trying this for the first time tonight. OF 1920 is just an absolute stud.
I uncorked this today. Wow, this is some great stuff! Uncorked the 1897 yesterday and the 1920 is definitely much better. 🥃
It’s definitely the best Old Forester (besides Birthday Reserve), I’ve had so far! Such a delicious bourbon! 🥃
Holy crap you two are great in this one! Between Sara's hair, Chad's antics, and the playful banter... RUclips gold!
Just finally found out of state. I’m in PA and 1897 & 1890 are in stores. Found the 1920 in Ohio and had to get. Can’t control myself...prob spent $800 in last 3 months on bourbon, Irish whiskies, and scotch.

Holy smokes she's pretty!! And great reviews which help a novice bourboner....keep up the good work n smiles!!
VERY PRETTY
I finally found a bottle of 1920 and had to remind myself of what to expect and I was treated to………….. Bangs Era Sara!!
The Sonny and Cher of Bourbon!
You guys are awesome. This is my new favorite. Just above the Elijah Craig. Thank you.
Your hair looks great, Sarah! Love the 1920. Definitely a bar staple.

George Steckert Glad you found it and hope you're loving it as much as we do!
I know Sara doesn't like sweeter bourbons, but I enjoy old forester. would you guys consider it a sweet bourbon ?
Bring back the bangs!!!

Thank you for the video I just bought a bottle of it.
You should do a blind tasting of the Old Forester collection
Just purchase a bottle today , haven’t opened it yet but it’s cold here and with that 115 proof I’m sure it will warm ya up lol
Great juice. Smooth,.nice burn. I like the maple at first and has a chocolate note. A favorite.
Awesome review Chad and Sara! I suspect it would pair well with my Rocky Patel Fire Robusto.

That was a great review. I've had the bottled in bond but now need to get the one you reviewed!

I just love 1920! It is rich!
it's really good, has a thick mouthfeal on the finish. added a drop of water on the end and it did not die👍
Happy Anniversary Chaz and SaraH...# Sara no bangs
Hey thanks for all the fun videos. I got a bottle of 1920. I really really like it. What would be some less expensive bourbons with similar profile? I’m going for yummy!
still like the 2016 birthday bourbon a little more. a little less alcohol but adds to the balance.

Sara is hott. Chad is cool too haha
Dean Steuerwald I agree. Guess which one of us is writing this. Hahaha
Diggin the bangs. For both of you =o!
this is the bourbon that hooked my wife now she is a bourbon drinking... this one being her favorite

The 1897 was great. Much better than the single barrel BevMo pick. Not sure I'm ready for 1920 but it's on sale..
I think I'm in love with Sara.....just sayin'. Bourbon and Sara!

She bangs! She bangs!
I'm debating on either the 1897 or 1920 of the Old Forester, but can't decide. Anyone have a suggestion?
Ive only had the 1910. Is it similar?
Time for a whiskey row fight flight.
This is honest bourbon
What kind of microphone/camera do you use?
George Remus read the Volstead Act.
Sarah took over in the comments but to echo everyone 😍🙌🏼
Sara Love the new hairstyle.
Wow! She is Beautiful!!!

I would say 1920. Hard choice though.
How did you two meet?
hey guys,
I love this stuff! It's soooo dark and rich! Do you know it's age?
Cliff Lash So do we! No, it's not aged stated, but if I had to guess I would say around 6 to 7 years.
Sara is HAWT!
4.21.2024, Bangs are cool, actually very cute.
Which is your favorite old forester?under fifty
Assuming this is # 1, what do you consider the 2nd best old forester product? I’ve heard great things about their basic signature 100 proof lately..
I just can't quit this bourbon. I'm sorry for the Brokeback Mountain reference but it's true! I just can't quit it. I love the burn, I need the burn. Great review guys:)
Chris Dillon Agreed!
try the 2016 old fo birthday bourbon, 👍👍👍
Charles Nappo We've had it. It is really good, and this may sound crazy, but I might still prefer the 1920!
What Proof dose she come in?
Fence Walker She's full proof!
Great answer....she is a keeper.
