    I just want to thank you. I have a good scanner that shows me all the things you said to look at. I bought a non running e350 with low miles. The previous owner had replaced the ipr for some reason and the van was cranking but not starting. I had glossed over the ipr being good until you showed how to look at the pressure. I was only getting 350 psi of oil pressure during cranking, everything else looked good. So I found the old ipr in the van and cleaned it real good and put it back in and the van fired right up makes 1300+ psi of oil pressure. Thank you so much.

    Excellent tutorial on air testing via the ipr port. Thank you for the tips on passenger side access, torque sequences, and special tools. Is is very valuable to know the high pressure oil rail nipples do bleed air while they fill up with oil after a repair.

    Goodnight. I have already made the necessary repairs for the DTCs I had. Today I removed the oil, it's very thin and dirty (I believe that could be it), I removed the oil pressure regulator (it was very dirty) tomorrow I'm going to change the oil and put in 15w40 and check the pressure. I sent you a video on your Instagram. Thank you for your help.

    I did that same job last year and I did both sides and found that I had Dorman parts that failed in my.6.0 make sure you buy motor craft or Standard brand and it takes about ten minutes of solid cranking to start the motor,good luck wish I was with you.

    • @AutomedicGarage

      Yea I only use motorcraft parts as mentioned and it doesn’t take 10 min of cranking to start any of these unless you have a weak hpop or other leaks in your hpop system. Several 20 sec cranking intervals is all it takes with these. Did a hpop on 03 yesterday and it took 3 20 sec cranking intervals. Thanks for watching.

    Now yeah got her sealed up tight and trucks makin 4000psi first time in prob over a yr will probably be back in a few weeks for a stc fitting and another injector or 2. LOL With fall comin and cooler mornings im sure stiction issues will be popping up from running on that chunky vintage oil while that ficm maybe on its way out voltage dropped to 45v

    • @AutomedicGarage
      @AutomedicGarage  Год назад

      I contribute the voltage drop to some shady old batteries. But yes STC fitting could bring not updated already and the old oil sure didn’t help with the life of the injectors. I preach to all my customers of 3k mile oil changes and arch oil additive or rev X if it’s already having Stockton issues. Truck ran great and strong and has no other current issues. Hi, I love your videos so a little bit of air through the oil rails is OK after replacing dummy plugs and standpipes and nipple cup seals, and injector O-rings how long does it usually take before all the air is pushed out of the high-pressure oil system thank you love your content.

    • @AutomedicGarage
      @AutomedicGarage  Год назад

      You should get no air from dummy plugs or stand pipes however it is normal to get some air from upper injector oring @ nipple cup. I try to fill the top of the injectors with some fresh oil, A) because it helps slightly with priming the system and B) the high pressure system is designed to “hold” oil pressure not air and that’s why you typically have a “little” air leaking at the upper injector oring. I say a little because if it’s more that hissing and really blowing air you have a problem. As far as priming the system it’s typically 3 15-20 sec cranking cycles to get it to hit or at least start trying. Hope that helps.

    • @AutomedicGarage

      I’ve seen pics of a homemade tool, it involves a hose and a threaded piece rod that you tighten up and it expands the hose inside the top of the lower portion of the standpipe and creates enough friction to pull the lower portion out. I haven’t explored the idea and tried to make one yet however.
