Also Yea, Yoshi got buffed, I know right. crazy

There's an alternate reality where pal is the main game and AMSA is the GOAT having won the most tournaments ever
The funniest thing is Brawl (the game that needed balance patches the most) was the only Smash game to not receive balance changes due to the addition of online play and Wii games being unable to receive patches.
I remember something about Skyward Sword having a bug that deleted saves and there was some sort of update for it, don't know if that counts.
@@pepekong It was an entire channel called the "Skyward Sword Save Update" Channel that would patch the bug if it happened since they couldn't manually patch Wii games.
The changes to PAL version is a rather interesting case study. Theoretically it seems better to pick the version of the game that buffs with bottom two (Kirby, Bowser), nerfs the top tiers, and gives out numerous bug fixes, which all denotes a better balanced and polished game. However since the overall game balance ended up barely changing at all, and Melee's meta is very centralized around the top tiers to the point where most of the Melee playerbase mains them, most of the playerbase will end up playing a less fun version of their character while the overall game balance remains fairly identical, which ends up making the switch to PAL not very worth it.
There are two interesting tidbits about the PAL version of Melee related to future games:
1) Mario's weight got nerfed from 100 -> 98 in the PAL version of the game. However the interesting thing about this is that Mario's weight in every single Smash game after Melee, which is still the case to this day with Ultimate, remains at 98.
2) The late hit of Falco's down air having the spike/meteor smash removed is funnily enough completely retained for Falco's down air in Brawl.
Good points I didn't know Mario kept the same weight every game lol. 98 is Mario's lucky number
Ganon's double jab with bunny hood was fixed in 1.02, not PAL.
Good to know that Smash's balance patch philosophy hasn't changed since 2002.
bro the editing is so good on this, jeeeeezz honest
SS-tier video creator.
As someone who plays the PAL version, my main in Melee is Marth, despite his nerfs in the PAL version. Though they don’t nerf him too much.
Kirby’s changes here are equivalent to smash ult patches, mostly - good things but fail to address the point
The reason people play the NTSC version is because that's what they are used to.
Marth's poor downair :(
aMSa could've become better if PAL Yoshi was in NTSC
The PAL Melee was the early Brawl to me.
Falco's pillar combos are harder to do and you have to time his dair? Sheik can't down throw most of the cast into oblivion?
Oh no! Anyways
This has now made me realise why I'm not a fan of melee, it all makes sense, power of Britain 🇬🇧
i wonder how diff the game felt when EU competitors came to NA and played on quite a diff game...
if you need another example of people not moving onto a new version of their game, you also have street fighter 2
HD remix and the final challengers are there but people still play super turbo
The problem is both new versions have several flaws in them that ST doesn’t have.
If you think about it, Melee has had many updates over it's lifespan:
V1.00
V1.01
V1.02
PAL
SD Remix
Anther's
20XX TE
UCF
Akaneia
Uncle Punch
Slippi
Final Melee 1.03
What's Anther's?
Also, should I mention that despite his nerfs, Marth is theoretically superior in the PAL version of Melee, but not many PAL players main Marth, and I’m one of those few PAL region Marth mains.
I wonder why most high tiers are really light?
Bloom4eva is one of my favourite top players. His mii brawler/bayonetta mix is a pretty unique and cool character mashup to use
This video is misleading because several of those changes are in NTSC 1.02 (the standard in NA) and stayed the same in the PAL version.
Given that you brought it up I do indeed like the sound of your voice
Imagine if they rerelease Melee and it's only the PAL version
What's the Ice Climbers on Fire glitch?
keep the nerfs to the characters in top 5 and i'll sell my soul to this game
Sad Luigi noises
we need pal but only for fox, Kirby, bowser
I kind of wish that they went with another PAL version that buffed characters like Roy or Link or many others while nerfing more good characters while removing more game breaking stuff.
Or just make a patch that buffs all the low tiers and remove the glitches like the freeze glitch or invisible ceiling
always wondered why not PAL. but hearing the changes outside of Fox. this actually makes the game seem less fun for everyone besides Yoshi players.
Kool
Melee: Sibling 1 gets a cookie, and sibling 2 gets nothing
Pal: Sibling 1 gets nothing as well. Problem solved!
Pal players: what is wrong with this balance patch why not played?
Why Ganondorf? Of all people, why nerf Ganondorf? And why the heck did they decide to buff that annoying green dinosaur of all people? This fat green animal has super armor in his 2nd jump! He's already eating at the buffet! And they decide to feed him more.
ganon is op for casuals lol. basically a more usable falcon
aussie aussie aussie oi oi oi
you forgot about puff. she got no changes all.
I mean I wouldn't say "he forgot" why list a character that got no changes. He didn't list Luigi either, but theres no point of mentioning that, they just got no changes.
@@emilyharrison5109 yea true
you gotta stop saying "base knockback growth" when talking about base knockback, it's like the opposite of what base knockback is.
Knockback growth (KBG) is how much a move's knockback scales with %. Base knockback (BKB) is how far the move sends at 0%. Adding "growth" to base knockback is like mixing the two and doesn't make sense
good video altogether tho, this just bugged me lol
my b lol
Repent and trust in Jesus you will be saved
I honestly dislike melee, but it looks fun.
Is this real?
Yes just like the One Piece, this is real!
@@VinnytotheK 😱😱😱
No this fake
PAL sucks. so glad its not what we play.
