  • This little clip records one of the last stages in George Best's footballing career. This news report is from 26th March 1983.
    A.F.C. Bournemouth manager Don Megson signed the 36-year-old Best for the Football League Third Division side, and he remained there until the end of the season, when he finally retired from football at the age of 37. He made four appearances but didn't score a goal.

    I was there too and the first time George received the ball from the kick-off he nutmegged an opponent. Class.
