    I think the moment at 8:40 is the most beautiful moment I've ever heard in jazz. The buildup throughout the whole solo, and then it all cuts off for a moment, and then starts building back towards the melody. And then as if it could get any better, Pat jumps in.

      I’m a bit late to this, but how are you able to pick apart drop 2 voicings by ear? I know what they are, and I have a good enough ear to hear changes and transcribe solos, but how do you identify voicings by ear? What do you listen for?

    wow... what a joy to listen to. jubilant, lyrical alto sax solo followed by a change of mood in the piano solo which builds and builds up again. All the while with a truly great Rhythm section..absolutely love this.
