Mr Vache... one of my all time favorite players, a great educator and an American Jazz Goodwill Ambassador... an amazing talent. He and so many wonderful horn players don’t receive enough recognition, ie, Jim Rotondi, Ron Stout, Bobby Shew, etc.
You should have sen him at the Philharmonic pub, Liverpool,England, 9 October 1985. Sat right in front of him.....think he was a bit 'off colour' if you know what I mean....but not his playing. A really wonderful 34 year old ....so enjoyable. Great to find this on youtube....still going strong which is more than i can say for the Liverpool promoter who put him on....the late Alan Graham. Thanks Alan, thanks Warren
I recently started to listen more and more to Warren Vache and I wonder why he isn't as much exposed as other outstanding trumpeters. No doubt he is known in both the Jazz and trumpet Worlds but since even those who came here to listen to a Jazz piece footage make comments such as "_that_ trumpeter is great" it's clear he's underexposed. C'mon people, it's not just another great trumpeter, it's great Warren Vache!
So many great and unknown jazz players. It truly is a shame.I follow jazz and this is the first time I have heard Warren Vache. No doubt he one of the big cats.
Beautiful, not enough horn players play Flugal horn in my opinion and the ones that do are very tasteful to even recognise it’s a perfect jazz brass horn. The complement between a good jazz guitar archtop comp and Flugal horn is sublime
nice trumpet playing! loved your low G# concert. yes i heard that! piano...well not to my liking only cause some of your single lines just sound a little incomplete as far as phrasing. i can tell you have a lot of talent however. drums and bass solid. overall nice quartet!
If these guys played at my pizza place I'd buy a whole lot of pizza
Wow that trumpeter's sound is so clean
That's because he is one of the all-time greats.
He's playing a flugelhorn. And yes, Warren Vache is one of the great players.
@@jodi183 that's not a flugel haha
He's a killer man!!! A serial killer!!!
@@ericliang4744 It's a cornet.
what kind of crazy pizza place is this I need to go every week

Warren Vache - pure class. A true musician. Come back to Melbourne soon!
Warren Vache is world recognized as a great cornet player and fabulous teacher ..he’s not unknown lol....the guy is a legend.
Warren Vache is in that Bel Air class as ln Warren's take of "I Can't Get Started".....
I guess he is but he is playing cornet there it’s a Flugal horn like Chuck Mangione plays a lot
Mr. Burr: great band. Your sound, time feel, and connection with the band is beautiful. Wishing you all of the best!
the phrase at 1:09 gives me shivers
Just Friends . . . great sentiment, great tune.
Outstanding trumpet solo
I clapped the trumpet solo from my desk. Just great.
Jon Burr played fro Tony Bennett in the mid- 70's and is still great!
1980-86. :)
Excellent, thank you for sharing.
I love this at first I thought the trumpet guy was playing a flugelhorn 😎
It looks like a cornet and the softer tone fits this interior more than a trumpet
It's a cornet, not a trumpet.
So very nice!! Every and each one of them! Thumbs up!!
So many great and unknown jazz players. It truly is a shame.I follow jazz and this is the first time I have heard Warren Vache. No doubt he one of the big cats.
So long musical phrases,long breathing!
Warren is so smooth.
Warren so great!
That was awesome!!!
Just fenomenal! a love the way of playing of the bass and drums!
absolutely phenomenal. the trumpet solo was as impressive as wyntons on this piece. incredible players for sure
It’s not a trumpet I promise. It’s a Flugal horn, a true horn not Cornett or B b Bach trumpet
Simply stunning!
His cornet sound sounds fat like Clark Terry’s flugel tone! Wonderful playing in every way!!!!
It’s is a Flugal horn
Good men and good music!I like it!!!
Great musicians! That wasn't pizza, that was a delicious lasagna!!
Excellent
Awesome im trying to learn this piece!😊
And this my friends......is how it is done!!!!!
Smooth as butter, Mr. Vache!
Nice to hear some old friends playing great. Even if a decade later.

Fantastic very nice

Great band but according to the writings on the window Jazz should be played live on Thursday night not on Monday...I 'm so confused
Che fraseggio...
Does anyone know what scale the horn played on the pickup
***** Chromatic!
No
I think its just a mixolydian scale with the blue note and a chromatic approach from below.. Not sure tho

Great trumpet (or flugel horn or cornet?) sounds a bit like Clark Terry
Cornet
