Thank you, Tom! I have watched a few videos on using adapters before, but you are first to explain how the aperture is set. That’s very helpful. 😃 I noticed that you fitted a Nikkor AF-S lens onto the Fujifilm camera with the KF Concept adapter. That’s what I would like to do too.
Hi Krister! Thank you very much! Indeed, I sometimes use Nikon lenses with Fujifilm cameras. In fact I'm soon going to have a special video on that. My overall experience with swapping lenses like that has been positive. Kind regards!
I settled for the Fotasy ones I found on ebay. They're a lot cheaper than K&F. 12 bucks on ebay with free shipping from Brooklyn. They're solid. One thing you didn't mention, is on my adapters, there are allen wrench screws you can loosen to rotate the lens so that the settings like aperture, etc. are all on the top after it's all mounted on the body. Then you tighten those screws. The adapters come with allen wrenches. Not sure if you need to do the same. The cheap Fotasy price means I have one adapter for each vintage lens I have. Very handy. Hopefully it's also helping protecting me from my radioactive Pentax Takumar 50mm!
Hi sclogse1! Thank for writing. The K&F don't come with allen wrenches. Your adapters seem to be quite different. Interesting that you mention radioactive lenses because this is a topic I'm currently researching for a future video. Older Japanese lenses (like some of the Kodak lenses) are indeed radioactive a bit. Why do you think your lens is radioactive? Have you read about it or have you measured it yourself? Cheers!
I've always been using the cheapest adapters without any problem. But now I purchased (it's still shipping) my first K&F adapter. I wonder how it compares to the cheap ones I usually buy.
Hi MasterT! Thank you very much. I'm also working on a video where I specifically talk about how to use Nikon lenses with Fuji cameras, and how to make it work the best. Kind regards!
Hey! I have just bought myself a Fuji X-T3 and have a couple of old Nikon F lenses. However, looking at a K&F adapter the site I’m looking at doesn’t mention the X-T3 as compatible with the adapter (the one shown in your video). Is it just that the site hast updated the product or is it true that the adapter won’t work with my X-T3?
Hi Hugo! Thank you for asking. This adapter will work with any Fuji X-mount camera, and the X-T3 is is an X-mount camera. So, the adapter will work, they just haven't updated the camera list. Kind regards!
As a beginner with a bunch of random/stupid but curious questions... Do you have to buy a certain mount adapter for your specific camera or can these adapters fit on multiple different types of camera? Say i have one for the fujifilm xt20, can you use multiple different brand lenses or is it just for one specific brand (like canon)? And lastly, if the adapter has an aperture ring, focus ring and other functions, but also your lens has the same functions, which do you use or how does that work? Im confused!
Hi! Thank you for asking. These are not stupid questions; we've all had these questions at some point. Your camera has a lens mount, which is the region where the lens attaches. Your lens has a corresponding lens mount. These need to match, like a lock and key, for you to be able to use your camera with that particular lens. For example, your Fuji X-T20 has an X-mount. This means that, natively, you can use only X-mount lenses with your camera. If you want to use a Nikon DSLR lens (that uses an F-mount) with your X-T20, you will need to get an X-mount to F-mount adapter. If you want to use your X-T20 with a Helios 44-2 (a retro lens with an M42 screw mount), you will need to get an X-mount to M42 adapter. There are mostly two kinds of lens mount adapters - smart and dumb. The smart adapters have electronic connections that allow the camera to control your lens. The dumb adapters only allow light metering. With those, you need to use your lens manually (set the aperture and focus yourself). The smart adapter usually allows you to use the lens as if it were a native lens. Let's say you now have two ways to control your aperture - through the camera body and using the lens's aperture ring. Usually, either option is possible when you turn on and off the other option. This you may be able to do on your camera body or on your lens, depending on the particular situation. Sometimes the lens's aperture ring has a position that hands the aperture control over to the camera body (or else there is a dedicated button for that). I hope this helped you a little bit. Kind regards.
Hi haristeas channel! Thank you for your message. If I understand you correctly you'd like me to review how K&F adapters work with the Canon 70-200 telephoto lens. Unfortunately I do not have this lens. However, K&F Concept makes adapters that can be used for this lens. One aspect to consider is that some lens mount adapters are so called "dumb adapters" which means that they will work optically but electronics (such as auto focus) will not work. Kind regards!
Hi Zach! Congratulation's on getting such a great camera. Yes, this adapter will work very well for you. It will connect the Fuji's X-mount and Nikon's F-mount. Kind regards!
Hi Seb! Thank you for asking. What problem are you seeing with focusing? Only manual focusing is possible with this combination. I'm not very familiar with Panasonic Lumix but I suspect that maybe you did not enable shooting without lens? Let me know if I could help you more.
Hi Darren! Thank you for asking. Yes, this is another good method to attached the lens to your camera and it comes with several benefits. I recommend it especially is you are into macro photography. It's probably a bit more expensive but it will give you more freedom. Best of luck to you!
Hi Itay! You'll want to use an adapter that attaches to Nikon's F-mount. So it needs to be an F-mount adapter. The other end (lens end) will depend on what your lens is. If tell me what lens you'd like to use I can help you further. Kind regards!
@@Itay_Gever Hi! Great lens choice. For the Helios lenses you need the "M42 - Nikon F-mount" adapter. You can order it from Ebay or several other online stores. But there's something more you need to consider. If you have Helios 44-2 you can use this adapter directly. But if you have for example 44-M4 then you need a method to deal with the aperture blades pin that need to be pushed in (ruclips.net/video/DhE5z17UTb4/видео.html). Kind regards!

@@reflux043 Hi! You're very welcome.
When installing a manual lens on the adapter, a small flight to infinity, the focus and aperture scales turned out to be at the bottom.
