@@swallowedinthesea11 So what? It’s the principle. The defendants son was in the wrong and seeing how he’s not of legal age the mother needs to pay. It’s not the plaintiffs problem to show compassion. Also, a Nissan Altima is not ‘luxury’. (No offense to anyone) I drive a luxury vehicle and believe me that lady better be glad that $1400 is all she has to pay. Luxury or not people work hard for their things and just because someone can afford something doesn’t mean principles and human decency are out the window! That was a nice car that the defendants son tore up. The plaintiff can forgive all while the defendant pays for the damages and teach her son about responsibility!

@@moniqueengleman873 The defendant clearly only told her because there were cameras there. She doesn't care about people enough to have insurance on her car, or to teach her child to tell the truth, as clearly he was lying about something in that courtroom because he couldn't even look at the judge when he was giving his testimony. Both defendants need consequences to their actions. You give compassion to somebody who gets hurt, not to somebody who does something wrong intentionally, like moving a car when you don't have a license. And I think she gave him the keys. The judge should do what Judge Judy does, and make the kid look her directly in the eyes. The fact that he repeatedly kept looking away, makes me think that she actually gave him permission to move, or start, the car, or gave him her keys to get his iPad.. Either way, the mother is responsible. I don't think the judgment should be just against him, it should be against her as well.

Honestly the defendant should be happy the Plaintiff was willing to work with her and didn't call the police and CPS. Also it was super irksome that the defendant wanted to control where the auto body was done at.

The defendant was extremely negligent. She should have hired a babysitter if she is having a dinner party
That would have been cheaper than paying $1500 for repairs to her neighbor's car. Also, she didn't punish her son properly. A ten year old has no business driving what so ever!
