    I'd like to add that holding the drop bomb keybind isn't cheesing this system. That's how it works in modern aircraft. Basically by holding down the pickle button you're giving the system permission to drop the bombs when you reach the designated drop point.

      Who the hell says holding release is cheesing? That’s literally how you do it. If you try to pickle manually when reaching the release point you’re guaranteed to mistime and not drop anything..
      Oh… got to the point he says it in the video.. wow. I had such high regard for Tim especially since same name, but. After that I’m kinda like “uhhh wtf are you on about?”

    You can also use CCRP for bomb tossing. You need to start pitching up when approaching the target, and as you keep pitching up, you hold bomb release button. It significantly increases the range of your bombs and sets you up for escape from enemies but also reduce accuracy of your bombs

    • @NickThePilotUSA
      @NickThePilotUSA 2 года назад +10

      wasnt bomb tossing meant for nuclear weapons? so in that case accuracy wasnt as much of a priority

    • @StopTakingDamnHandles
      @StopTakingDamnHandles 2 года назад +22

      @@NickThePilotUSA Toss bombing was originally for nuclear weapons, but both dumb and guided bombs can make good use of them, such as tossing them over mountains to try avoid SAM's or whatever else.

    • @TheSkipjack95
      @TheSkipjack95 2 года назад +6

      @@NickThePilotUSA Indeed, but as mentioned below/above, guided bombs can pick up guidance after the loft phase. Either that or you hedge your bets with GPS bombs (JDAMs) or cluster munitions.

    Just a heads up, for some reason, radar missiles will try to lock the target point. Also, afiak, the bombs dropping automatically is the intended method or ccrp, at least its that way in dcs so I would assume it still applies here. Yet another great video!

    • @Snivy_Films
      @Snivy_Films 2 года назад

      To confirm this, yeah I have gotten them multiple times in the F-4E when I get a radar lock when im carrying out 7, 1000 lbs bombs, so the F-4E also has it, but its pretty inconsistent for it showing up however

    • @TheKenji2221
      @TheKenji2221 2 года назад +2

      In DCS you have to hold the bomb release to drop the bomb. It's not automatic. At least not on the F16, 18, 14 and Mirage

    • @hellcatdave1
      @hellcatdave1 Год назад

      @@TheKenji2221 It's automatic as in it drops on its own, all you have to do is hold the pickle.

    Hey! I know I'm a year behind, but I'm just getting into SIM (PS5). Do you have a resource to help with base selection CCRP? I was playing this morning (A7-E)and I did the thinggg where I select the base from outside of the cockpit for CCRP, my digital menu on the upper left shows BMB/CCRP. I had my vertical line in 3rd person, just off the nose. Then I get into the cockpit and the CCRP disappears from next to BMB. Soooo I select bombs as the weapon and toggle to the bomb sight. I'd cycle to the corresponding target number from when I selected the base outside of the plane, and nothing. Manual target point CCRP works fine, I can select and drop no biggie, however it'd be nice to be able to have it appear on the HUD from the get go. I recently learned that the event Torando IDS (Germany) got CCRP, and I'm having a similar issue. Skill issue I'm sure, so if you have a link or something to help me get good, that'd rock. Thank you.
