@gillysuit2 truly an awesome montage. and I agree, if this kind of quality was consistent then he would likely do decent with a bit of a push from someone like phly
Out of curiosity, do you know if any other British aircraft have this ability? If no other British aircraft have CCRP, what other planes in the game do?
It may work even better if you use the new "Bomb Series" option in the spawn menu. Set it to drop all bombs at once, and you'll have an insanely tight bomb group.
Thats just a waste of ordinance then. If each bomb has a kill radius of 20m why space them 1-2m apart when you could space them 20-30 apart and maximise effective kill area.
@@tkachowski6520 if theirs a 20-30m gap then half the drop area is survivable, all at once would be like a mini pe8, i think it'd be better with the 500 bombs they'd carpet the area more effectively
Personally I use series set to 6… drop the wing pylons on one pass and bomb bay on another (which is what you see in the montage) I don’t know what Steve set his as, but the problem in the buccaneer is that if he had it set to all, it would pause to open the bomb bay.
@@eldudio Phly had it drop the wings first and you can see two lines of bombs from that, then the main bombs in a tight group. Would probably work better for him reversing that as the first bombs to drop were on target with the second set going further.
@@Kraus- I’ve tried all sorts, wings then bay is my favourite, and so long as you’re careful pulling up to the line slowly you’ll get a really nice group.
@@Ben_Kimber compared to the point and click adventure that is some helis and agm aircrafts, it's not cancer. You are still vulnerable to aa when you drop, and you need to rtb after each attempt so it's not as oppressive.

@@sirshotty7689 ARMA 3 and DCS are good at these stuff but the point is that War Thunder did it and I hope they do more cause the game needs them for immersive game playing.
@@eldudio damn straight!! was that coincidental that they synced, or was that some super clever tricky frame rate adjustment...thing? either way. NOICE.
Fun fact: when my grandad was a pilot in the navy (circa 1960ish), he was trained to do a similar maneuver with an atomic bomb. The only problem was that his plane, an A1 Skyraider, was too slow to be able to get out of the blast zone in time.
Worked with Buccaneers for a while at RAF Honington: very solid plane with enormously strong structure, rotating bomb bay to permit bomb release at any speed; could pull up from low level at near Mach 1, loft a nuclear weapon at a task force of ships, roll off at about 100+ degrees (over vertical) and escape in a high-speed shallow dive as the speed built up again, and be outside the lethal blast radius before the anti-aircraft missiles caught up with you. One of them lost a wing during a Red Flag exercise, so we x-rayed for cracks and retired about a third of the fleet, used the remainder until the 1990s and the Gulf War (no shortage of spare parts). This was the long-range strike option of the Royal navy and later the Royal Air Force. One of those planes that politics didn't kill.
I don't fly CAS, but I learned to do this ages ago with Canberras and Il-28s in ARB. It's called Toss or Pop-up bombing. I started doing it as a way to reverse course without over stressing the wings, but I found it also helps clear the area before AAM carrying interceptors showed up. No fancy doodads though. Just the bombsight. I try to get it done without getting closer than 10km.
Reminds me of the good old "Tornado" from Digital Integration from the early 90s, where you could loft your bomb package in the socalled "loft mode" on the HUD at a preplanned target via satellite image with extreme precision, despite the strongest air defense, from a distance of over 30km and more.
I used to do this in Ground strike air battles with bombers. Basically get to max speed, pull up a bit and get a nice bombing range boost because the upwards vector does work. It sometimes saves a bomb run if you've got a fighter on your tail or lined up , you manage to lob your bombs before they secure the kill.
Just a little note for future reference CCIP or computer calculated impact point is what the ballistic computer does by default for your rockets or bombs giving you that crosshair on the ground. what you're doing is called CCRP or computer calculated release point, designating the impact point then letting the ballistic computer tell the weapons when to release. Cool to see it actually being used though. Lob bombing is hard but cool as hell to watch
Phlyyyyyy ive been getting really into the pz38t F with the stock apc shell, its not a tracer and its awesome doin sneaky shit and surprising people, usually get enough time for multiple shots off before people even see where its comin from, highly suggest it
Woah holy shit that line is cool, actually makes me kinda want to get that plane Also, come on, you gotta admit that it was pretty cool how the flare release timing was in time with the beat of the song at 21:16
Back in early beta tanks, we did bomb tossing all the time.. mostly for fun, as there wastn as much AA, and a lot of players were just not that good at it, so we all needed to play a bit more between kills.
Try the ripple mode for secondary weapons, it appears as "ripple mode for secondary weapons" in the controls menu It makes you able to drop multiple bombs at the same time (2,4,8,16 or continous drop( as long as you hold the key asigned to shoot secondary weapon)). I find it pretty useful. it works with bombs and rockets
This is more so CCRP continuously computed release point because you have a point designated and the computer is telling you when to release instead of playing the pipper on a target and releasing yourself when the pipper goes over a target. (you're following the computer instead of computer following you).
CCRP - Continually Computed Release Point (in the video... set target to be hit, bombs release when the trajectory will impact said point) CCIP - Constantly Computed Impact Point (continuous marker for bomb impact - WT's standard bombing crosshair)
It's weird that Phly has released this today... Literally like 2 days ago I was watching videos how pilots practiced bomb tossing nukes to be at a safe distance from the detonation
@@arthurbousquet6838 Yup. I've been asking since the Jaguar CAS video last August. Check it out 😂 "Hey Phly, play the IS2's weird brother, the kv122! Attempt #1"
Ive just started bombing like this in my bucc S1. Took 5 attempts to get my 1st kill but all 4 before that i wa still getting hits. Had multiple kills bomb tossing now its really really fun way to bomb. Sooo satisfying.
i've been doing this by eye so far, as i have no bomber or jet that has ny kind of extra's to help me bomb like that. did it with the Premium Russian P-47 a few weeks back and got banned for a week because of it xD ban only lasted for 3 days tho, as they saw my replay and they decided i did not cheat, as i had recorded MANY tries before that had not worked.
I thin CCIP is meant to be done from altitude which is why you felt like you were going in blind but thats probably not doable in WT because tanks wont render that high and on half of the maps the ground turns to playdough and makes it look like tanks are underground, thus hiding them when above like 1-2k altitude.
You can do this with the cluster bombs on the first bombing mission of AC6. Fly high and if dropped perfectly the bomblet spread will cover the entire first stage of the mission.
I was just remembering, I was in an american m-18, pushing up a hill into some tunnel. A bomber dropped bombs on me, but instead of killing me, sent me flying directly facing another tank doing flips in front of the tunnel. I think my main barrel was offline, at the same time my machine gun came back online, did 2 shots, and killed a full healthed tank surrounded by fire. It was the most stunning game I played
You can do this against opponents that are chasing you in warthunder. You have to be in a dive, pitch up, drop the bombs, roll and dive back under the bombs and haul ass till your hopefully in front of the bombs and on the deck as they start to drop. If you get lucky those bombs will decimate people trying to chase you down.
Your using CCRP (Constantly Computed Release Point) CCIP is (Constantly Computed Impact Point) the difference is CCIP just gives you a reticule and tells you where the bomb will land. CCRP tells you where to release the bomb and gives you the line that you fly towards while holding the bomb release command.
This reminds me of that ww2 ship (USS Texas) on d-day. The captain ordered half the ship to be flooded so they could bombard the enemy farther than any ships main cannons effective range...
