❗READ THIS IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING THE SELECTED QUANTITY TO RELEASE
There are two ways to release weapons in war thunder- the "conventional" mode, and selected weapon mode.
If you are using selected weapon mode (which you really should be if you're playing jets), you will see a > to the left of the selected weapon (> BMB). In selected weapon mode, you can use "secondary weapon ripple quantity" to switch between [2], [4], [8], [16], and [S] like I showed in the video. Within selected weapon mode there are actually multiple keybinds that can drop bombs, since the old keybinds still work in addition to the weapon selection release keybinds.
• "Drop bomb" (default bombing key, probably spacebar) will ignore the selected quantity and will only drop at most one or two bombs at a time regardless of what quantity you set.
• "Drop bomb series" will likewise also ignore the selected quantity, but will ripple off all the bombs. It doesn't work well at all with selected weapon mode for some reason, so avoid this one.
• "Fire secondary weapons" is what you need to use. This is the keybind that will release the selected quantity. So, for example, if you see >BMB 8 [4] and use "fire secondary weapons", it will release 4 of your 8 bombs.
If you aren't using selected weapon mode for whatever reason (if you see BMB instead of > BMB), you have to select the release quantity that you want on the spawn menu before you spawn on the runway (the option is called "bomb series" and it's next to the fuse setting). Once you have set this and spawned in you can't change it without respawning. In this mode, "drop bomb" will drop 1 or 2 bombs and "drop bomb series" will release your selected quantity.
I should have covered this in greater detail in the video but left it out- sorry about that. But tl;dr is if you use selected weapon mode you need to use "fire secondary weapon", not "drop bomb" or "drop bomb series".
Good to know. I was running into issues where I was using space bar with weapon selected bomb series but it would end up dropping all my bombs if I kept the space bar down.
Thanks I fiddled with this for a while before I figured that out from a forum bug report haha
I was getting so mad at it not working,
thank you :)
This saved me. Thanks for adding this comment ❤❤❤❤❤
I'm a simple man. I see line, I click spacebar.
I use my plane as a bomb
Same lol
We have monkey brain
I’m even more simpler i hold my b key
monkey hold space
bind sieries
have fun
It's actually an absolutely real thing, close to the LABS - Low Altitude Bombing System. Apparently, this is "THE CORRECT" way to drop a nuke - fly low, pitch up, release and GTFO
Awesome video btw! I love to use this method in ASB vs airfields, because ofter you can be further away from really angry AA and actually have high angular velocity relative to it, making your chances of surviving much higher. Plus, unlike climbing on 6000 ft, where are you an easy target for interceptors, ground proximity makes you virtually invisible for most early radars.
Can u automatically sellect the bases like in rb or you neet so select it manuallym
@@aeronjohnsantos6612 Select bombing tgt. On the ground you can use 3rd person view, so use it wisely
Flying low while dripping a nuke, bro the pilot will turn into toothpaste

Here's a huge tip from someone who plays too many bombers.... Set up custom loadouts where you have 2 bomb sizes if you can carry more than a base's worth, such as 6x1000lb with 3x2000lb. With this sort of loadout, you can set a "Drop Bomb Series" key to drop all of the bombs of a given size with a delay between the 2 types of bombs. This is especially useful for NATO bombs because of the way that the bomb sizes line up.
Tip if you are using phantom F-4C (or any with same bombs). You can destroy 3 bases in one run if you will take maximum number of bombs and nothing else. You need to make custom loadout with 1000lb 6x and 500lb 18x. Then drop 10x 500 for first, 4x 1000 + 2x 500 for second, and 2x 1000 + 6x 500 for third.
You can also take three bases with a combo of FFAR and bombs.
that would be awesome, in any phantom than the f4c lmao
Thanks for the guide mate, i hope your channel will grow, and i'm sure those guide gonna help a lot of people
Sadly toss bombing on top tiers (11+) is usually asking for a Sparrow to the face. But in Thud, with 2x3000lb works like a charm and it happens to be the lightest/least impactful single-base bomb load on the airframe
On the upside, CCRP can be used for treetop level bombing just fine, without guessing where base is exactly.
At top tier you can still toss bomb without eating a sarh missile, you just have to be a little closer to the base. If you do it right it doesn't take very much time at all to release bombs and get back down. You just can't full send for a huge climb to launch bombs into orbit
@@jaek_898 With shallow climb followed by a dive you might as well do level bombing run with CCRP/CCIP. Something I've did plenty of times in Phantoms, bonus points for HMD not compromising bombing run while still being able to toss a Sparrow at someone to worry about.
14x250 is the lightest
does this work vs enemy fighters
Only if you have talent
Wow, way to flame me like that
Absolutely stellar guide, honestly keep it up dude I hope for your continued success here! I've been wanting for someone to make guides like this for the game as most videos don't really go into some of the mechanics as well as you do.
Only Jaek_ could make bombing look unironically enjoyable...
Yo I saw you, Lee, Joob and another guy in a Netz squad the other day
The editing of this video is top tier. Love it
Just wanted to say keep up the good work you have released four videos and they have all been bangers!
Before going into battle, you can change "bomb series ammount" to the needed quantity. (For example, 4 if you're using 500kg bombs).
When you have this value set, you can hold "drop bomb series" instead of "drop bomb" to instantly release the set number of bombs, without needing to set ripple quantity.
This will work better when stockgrinding, as you often need more than 10 small bombs to kill a base, and the bomb series dropdown box adapts to the max number of bombs you have equipped
Note with this, if you're like me and use select secondary weapon you must TURN OFF select primary/secondary weapon as the "Drop Bomb Series" keybind will not work properly when you have weapons selected. It only works when unselected.
This was the best example on RUclips thanks mate
Another useful information video for me to share, thanks jaek
Damn i just discovered your channel and the quality is exceptionnal ! I can't wait for more !
Thank you for the tutorial. It's helping me a lot with F4e stock grind
Excellent content. I will say that on the swedish Jaktviggens you are able to ripple up to 16 bombs at once (a full load) rather than just salvo.
If only I could use the 'Switch Mission Bomb Target' in ground RB to select a Capture Point so I can lob 20 250lb bombs in my A4E from like 4km away and just flatten the entire Cap and anyone on it.
You can designate it manually yourself
@@Panocek Yeah but it's so difficult to get it precisely on the place u want it.
@@AmpleWhistle607thats part of the fun tbh, i might start trying it in ground rb
I've loft bombed with great success in sim battles where AA is ridiculously accurate even at very far distances. Especially airfields since they're a bigger target and are full of SAMS and sniper AAA.
You have a really nice way of explaining things, I really look forward to new videos
another W for the Jaek channel
i use CCRP in simulator to stay out of range of anti air but i never knew bomb tossing would actually work, id always wondered if it would but never thought to try it
Toss bombing is my way to go with stuff like a A-4
But it can backfire, since your bomb flight time is long, there will always be a mate to bomb before you
Best tutorial for ccrp
Absolutely love the Ace Combat 6 OST
It'd be great if they changed the ripple quantity to any number to make it easier for people like me to just hit one button and fly away instead of sticking around for a few seconds so i can fully take out one base
jaek talking about bombing is something I never expected to see
Jaek bringin the W content
Thank you this guide will be very helpful in my Ariete 🙏

When I discover this I was stuck by it. My prefer is go 1500m before u come to your base line and pitch up you shuld have ability to toss bombs all across to enemy base. Plus in RB toss at enemy SPAA in base can save our back pain.

Can we see you cover all the corsair Aircraft from every nation including premuims such as the f2g, etc.
The problems with CCRP tossing its that bombs spread too much and most of the time you dont even get all of them in target
flying directly at the enemy to tos bomb seems suicidal, also going high up means that every single enemy plane is going to fire a missile at you
Dude thank you so much for making this. I'm playing the f84f for usa right now and it has been so painful to fly it and to understand its ccrp. Good thing I saw your pinned comment as well because I had the exact problem you described. You have saved me so much anger, thank you again.
If only I could get to the enemy bases without getting swarmed by 3+ enemies each time while at the same time competing with 10 teammates to even bomb a base.

I swear this man has some secret recipe for making vids😂 but srsly this guide is the most comprehensive one i’ve seen
Now, I wonder if you could do this in Sim next...
Needing help: I have bound "space bar" to dropping bombs, but when I try to use CCRP and everything aligns only one bomb is dropped when I hold down "space bar" even though I have set the "cluster" to 8.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong :(
Made a pinned comment that should explain it
@@jaek_898 Thank you very much helping me out. Tried the 1st and 2nd approach, never thought of using "Fire secondary weapons"...
The video otherwise is more than perfect.
You got yourself another subscriber. Looking forward to more contend.
I have the following issue: When I try to toss bomb, I will hold the bomb release key while climbing and as soon as the bombs release the camera will automatically chase the bombs (due to the release key being held?) and then my plane will automatically LEVEL OUT which means it literally RAMS into the bombs that I just released, damaging my plane and throwing the bombs off course. I do not know why this is happening. Its clearly not happening for you in your video. Note that I am using the bomb series release key with my bomb series configured to 10 for example with the Milan.
Only thing I can think of is theres an option for "autopilot in gunner view" or something for bombers, maybe try turning that off if its already on? Otherwise i'm not sure
@@jaek_898 Oh my, thanks, that was it! Its working perfectly now.
It would still be cool however if Gaijin allowed us to disable the "bomb button Hold -> follow camera" feature.
@@schonka2 yeah its really annoying, theres a seperate keybind for it anyway so it just ends up getting in the way. I also want to be able to have a keybind to enter targeting pod/guided weapon view, currently you have to cycle view to get to that
Will you do a video on all the mig 21 variants?
Im not a bomber player but i bomb somtimes for mods. So this is helpful, Thx :)
Beautiful! Thank you!
I usually thought that CCRP was pretty much useless because of the mediocre accuracy, but I can see now how to effectively bomb airfields in sim mode with my A4E
This is probably the best RB CCRP guide I've seen. However, as you can imagine, it can be a game changer in SB. The problem is that currently it doesn't work very well on older HUDs, like the "century series" jets. Lock persistence is finnicky and heading is not indicated at all in the HUD, which could be a bug. I heard some CCs were discussing it at the end of September, but as of October 2023, there have been no improvements. Would love to see an SB CCRP guide some time!
Oh defo! I’ve recently gotten into sim battles and would love to see a guide on this!!!
the ONLY downside to this is if you lob and someones bee lining for it anyways they will get there faster
It's incredibly inaccurate on the F84F using napalm bombs. Wonder if I'm doing something wrong.
Nice video!!
Im so happy I came across this video, been grinding with the Buccaneer S.2 and such a clear tutorial on how to bomb toss and use CCRP is a literal life saver, espeically since the new update with the radar guided SPAA thats around bases now.
so i ground rb i play f84-26b and my 1000lbs bombs overshoot always i usually relase them in a shallow dive with ccrp i would like to know what im doing wrong thx
For some reason this isn't working for me. I'm using the F4E, and I have every keybind in the video set. Using 12X 750lb bombs, I set my ripple quantity to 8, and hold spacebar, which is my bomb drop keybind, while the circle hits the line, but it will never drop more than one bomb unless i spam the spacebar, and that makes the bombs very inaccurate. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong here.
Are you using weapon selection mode (do you see a > to the left of BMB) and are you using "release secondary weapons" to drop bombs?
@@jaek_898 I was using the drop bombs keybind, so that might have been my problem. I figured out that if I set my bomb series to the max before the match I can just use the drop series keybind and It seems to be a lot more accurate for me.
@@jaek_898 Thanks for the help though.
Damn.. thought it was going to be some new method I didn’t know about.. I already use CCRP because I play Sim and DCS. Also the CCIP in Sim is pretty shit. They always have the pipper way below the HUD even in a dive up to 20-30 degrees. Meaning you literally have to dive bomb, go near vertical, in order to see where the bombs are going to land.
I feel like the way bombs drop in the game isn’t coded right to “real life” and they fall a lot closer than they should, which is why that whole CCIP issue exists.
Cool Video🎉
i didnt even know toss bombing was viable in wt, W jake info video
why keep i only dropping 1 bomb even if i select 4? ( play an f15 with 6 500 bombs...)
Are you using the "fire secondary weapon" button to release them?
Both Brilliant, and incredibly helpful, video! Well done man; well done!
Its cool but it uses too many keybinds that aren't worth what you get out of it. It is also a bit finnicky and often times you will miss your target because you had to dodge and missed the target drop window and you can't drop your bombs because the permission will be locked.
Now that the CCIP always appears under your plane you don't really need to use it either. While you could technically get intercepted slightly easier, you can just pre flare and avoid headons.
If you do plan on using it, but do top tier cas with laser guided bombs, becareful what you bind Activate/Deactivate Target point to because it will mess with Sight Stabilization and dropping bombs in general.
great video good job on explaining this i have 5k hours in this game and never knew this while grinding, also the background music is a aesthetic vibe thats nice
I had no idea this was a thing. I went from being stagnant in SL in top tier to being able to print SL while spading. This also forced me to set up keybinds that will help with non computer bombing in props. Appreciate this.
I'm not sure how good this method is at top-tier. Pitching up near the middle of the map is the easiest way to get a SARH right off the bat, if it wasn't already heading for you before.
Also, an unfortunate quirk about War Thunder's weapon selection is the number of bombs you're capable of releasing automatically. For instance, the Tornado IDS can carry up to twelve 1000lb Mk 83s, and you only need six to destroy a base at top-tier. However, you can only automatically drop four or eight with the "secondary weapon ripple quantity" command. To drop six at once, you'd need to deselect the primary/secondary weapon system (which you can do with a keybind), and set up your bomb drops in the menu before spawn. There, you CAN select six as an option.
I really wish Gaijin would refine that system a bit, because it's really annoying. Having to do all that trial and error, not to mention menu selections, keybinds, system selection based on the plane you're flying, etc., it's just a pain in the ass while you're also getting missiled by fighters.

Very helpfull i dident know that ccrp was a thing, great work Jaek :D
Great video learned a lot from it and keep it up !
How well does something like this work in Sim?
@@BrotherVarz depends on the plane and how good its hud symbology is, apparently
@@jaek_898 Was trying to figure out the F4-S Hud, trying to manual bomb in that one feels rough
Thanks for the tips.
I am having an issue with the CCRP; after I have the point selected and am at this step (1:40) when I hit "fire secondary weapon" it doesn't wait for bomb release position it just drops it immediately when I press the button regardless of how far and I can't figure it out :( the lines never appear around the circle the bomb just drops instantly; also I do not have anything bound to "drop bomb" or similar
in sim please
Toss bombing is why pe8s and lancasters shud be banned from naval. But hey naval amirite
Are there any updated bombing guides? E.g. how many Xlb or Xkg bombs to take out a base for each br?
Thanks for letting us know how to bomb this way, you got a new sub
When I'm releasing the bombs in a tossing maneuver I often hit my own wings with them. Seems like a plane wants to stabilize itself into a level flight. Any advice on how to avoid it?
I fly perfectly straight when releasing them and then pull up before rolling and havent had any issues hitting my wings
@@jaek_898 Do you also have the view change to the bombs on release? 🤔
Off the top of my head I think that happens if you keep holding the button down
well this is video is very informative...also I have tried toss bombing using the Pe-8 and it is fun because it can pitch up really fast even though it's a bomber
When I drop the bombe it switches to bomb tracking view before i get done dropping so it interupts the drop
Could you possibly explain how this is done in simulation? Not the point the target mode but the base or target selection mode in other words the switch mission target mode? Thank you.
As someone who has played for only two weeks, I was not aware this was a thing. I'm going to learn to do this. This was super helpful. 10/10.
what do the slavo do cause I tried it but it onlydrop one bomb do I have to use the bomb series?
Good tutorial!
What a great video
When i try using the ripple quantity it just drops one bomb and starts camera tracking if i keep holding the drop button, i cant figure it out
If you see the quantity selected (like [8] or whatever) then using "fire secondary weapons" should work. If you set the quantity on the spawn menu you have to use "drop bomb series"
Alright thank you, it has been bugging me for a while
this video convinced me to try the CCRP again. as an Israeli A4E premium (RIP) that only has CCRP I have for a while been climbing to the left to ~13-18k FT and diving at bases with incindiary bombs, this usually gets at least 1 run of 2 bases and an extra 25%~ dmg on a third base but on about 50% of the games i get 4-6 bases, CCRP might be more consistent at getting 4-6 than diving, the A4E is kinda slow tho. will edit the result after ill do a few games not now bc its 4am.
Edit: it works pretty well, incendiary bombs are bricks so it's basically the same as diving but you trade speed for altitude with the downside of the bombs taking a long time to fall, diving to about 5k FT seems to be a good point to not take years to fall but also get speed and altitude, got a 6 bases game on the second attempt.
Incendiary bombs can't be tossed from my testing because they lose speed almost instantly.
This method is what saved me tons of headache for my Milan, not even gonna lie.
what command do u use to drop the set amount of bombs? i can't find it
"fire secondary weapons" if you're using weapon selection mode (with a little > symbol to the left of where it says BMB)
@@jaek_898 thank you very much
ccrp looks cool but it keeps disapearing right before the green line lines up with the circle i dont get why its happning
Uhm... What about those big maps on top tier like Operation Pyrenees? I climbed to 9kms and still cant toss the bombs :/
I tried this out in a test drive but even when I set the ripple quantity instead of using bomb series the bombs drop one after the other rather than all at once, does anyone know how I might go about fixing this?
I have a question why when I release the bomb it only drops one even when have 8/8
Did you try the things in the pinned comment
It works also what your perfered keybinds
When I play the harrier gr1 i always do this, saves so much time!
Biggest issue, other players taking the bases.
ok but my bombs drop anyway. holding down just drops 1 bomb and activates bomb cam ...
I put ripple quantity on salvo and only one bomb drops… how?
does it works for sim as well as for realistic?
I just got the notification now
note: manual targeting point need a lot of lead
Theres a reason i dont use ccrp, cant tell how well the bombs land from my intended target, bases maybe i can use on with a 200m wide target but anything else seems to be imposible especially in simulator where there is no such proper display
