- Kia Optima was riding my royal ass cause they lost a race when their lane merged into mine. So I left them in the damn dust at the entrance ramp behind slow cars In highway. This Is what I caught after waiting on them lol. 😈

For a vehicle (Altima ) that is capable of getting 35 mpg plus highway and cruise 100mph effortless , smooth ride . Yeah I’d take it over the optima any day . I had one try and race my 2014 Ford Edge limited and it walked it with no effort. But for both being economy cars I’d def take the Altima. Just get a transmission cooler and change your cvt fluid should be very reliable I have had 2 used for commuting to work and they daily drive excellent !
That’s true. Their CVT transmissions are very reliable if know how to maintain. What transmission cooler do you have?
The 3.5L Altima is probably one of the best versions of the Altima in my opinion at least. I know the turbo 4 cylinders are just as quick but the V6 does it all without forced induction. Go for a V6 Altima or a Maxima because maxima comes with the VQ35DE too.

My Altima had no issues driven hard in Texas when sold to a family member 1.5 yrs ago now the miles are at 175k 2010 Altima ! Just don’t overheat them and they do just fine .

My dad has a kia just like this there pretty quick for what they are they also have a sport mode and makes it quicker we've gotten it almost 130ish for a 4cy

Turn off the speed governer and install a throttle response controller, cold air intake, and a new exhaust (dual exit). Then fill up with 93 octane(All Hyundai/Kias have Octane Learning) and turn off your traction control and electronic stability control.
Trust me. Turbochargers are overrated.
Edit add: OH, and buy tires with a higher speed rating, drag spec on front wheels, and then the tread/traction spec on back wheels.
Up to you if you want to buy diff wheels.

Vs this 2.5 Altima would dust it. I actually used to want a sonata 2.0t around 2014. My n’ laws had a 10’ 2.0t and yes it was fast af. However against my 19’ vc-turbo it’s slightly slower (I left it behind like maybe 1 car length back, on top end it was steady with me but wasn’t gaining past that car length). I raced the SX Turbo of that generation on thanksgiving 🤣🤣🤣 we both got up to about 130-135 in a 65 🤣🤣🤣 I gave it two chances both times it was about the same results. I was like damn that thing still got it and that’s exactly what I wanted the sonata lol.
@@NissanAltimaGuymy buddy has a 2013 optima sxl turbo and he’s gapped 370z, stingers, idk how it’s so fast but he’s pushing roughly 300-330 hp. He’s got the genesis 2.0t in his car and it puts you in your seat, it’s no joke.
@@NissanAltimaGuyYeah well that car shit the bed not even a month after that comment and now i’m stuck with a 22 sonata limited lmao. It’s a 1.6L TGDI. It’s still faster than most sedans but not the same. It only has about 180 something HP and 195 lb-ft of torque, I would have bought the N Line which is 5.6 seconds 0-60 at almost 300 HP but they didn’t have any in stock. I was able to get it from 0-60 with michelin pilot sport tires in 6.9 seconds with a top speed governed at 135 mph (it has no problem climbing right up to that speed still skipping a couple of mph at a time on the digital speedometer)

How did you lock the RPM
There’s no way to do it while you’re already rolling (unless you have a 13-15) it’ll always hold unless it’s in sport mode. To do it though from a stop you smash the gas pedal as quickly as you can.
