Basically! 🙂 Lots of people don’t know but the 13’ Altima was based on the Teana in Japan (their maxima). So the 16-23 Maxima is on the same chassis as the 13-18 Altima. Essentially the 19’+ Altima is the newest “Maxima”. The Maxima just gets features (pano roof, cooled seats, rear sunshade) to come across as “Luxury”. The 2022 Teana (Altima in Chinese market) gets all of those features because they do not have a “Maxima”.

@@jamr0214 lengthy process I do huh? However no fine scratches in the paint so it’s worth it to me. Buffing takes me 6-8 hours sometimes longer and it’s too hot in Texas 90% of the time 😂

@@josias.qr25 It’s actually a nice package imo. If I were to buy another Rogue 1.5T I just wouldn’t exceed 4k rpm just to make sure it doesn’t wear out. Seems high rpm is what causes internal wear on these! 4k rpm is basically the most power output anyways (it dies off past that). Otherwise solid commuter (imo).

@@NissanAltimaGuy Is this something all KR engines suffer from or just the 1.5 in particular? The new Murano has the 2.0 VC-Turbo paired to a 9 speed.

@@josias.qr25 as long as I’ve seen since 2018 the 2.0 has needed very few in all these years that needed replacement. Those are probably the ones who are doing 10K + miles between oil changes. The Rogue 1.5 3cyl is just too little displacement for the psi the turbocharger puts out. I haven’t had any problems out of my Altima VC-Turbo. It is 6 years old (08/18) build date with 72k miles now. Another thing people don’t realize about turbos is you have to let them cool down after driving hard on them. If you race or drive hard then park it’s recommended to idle 2-3 mins so oil can cool down the turbo.

I need to wash them both again already 🥲 I love the Durango though and R/T is just that much better!

Lmao nah 😂 You just have to let them warm up a few mins, drive lightly 5 mins or so then you can do whatever. CVT services every 30-60k miles depending on driving habits/conditions are a factor as well. Any vehicles needs all of these services for long term reliability. Traded this one with 116k 04/22 and the next owner has it at 154k 2 weeks ago.

@@iiambabyjayyy No for 23/24 they chopped the Platinum. 23/24 there’s regular SR, SL, then SR VC-Turbo. The SR-VC-Turbo (top trim those years) has the 360 cams (maybe even 23/24 SL). I do believe countries outside of the US (Like Canada) still have platinum.

The power is noticeable in town. The new CVT is much more responsive from a standstill, and the instantaneous low end torque for the 1.5. The 0-30 mph in this is quite impressive. It’s about as quick as my Altima 2.0 VC-Turbo which gets 0-60 in 5.8 seconds.

@@occckid123 I’m telling you man this is exactly why I don’t see why they even produced the 1.5l. I know in the Rogue it could be just as efficient because the Torque (especially with that new CVT it has). Yeah I love my Altima Vc-Turbo hands down such a good car!

@NissanAltimaGuy Honestly I think it gets within one miles per gallon of the 2.5. I usually get on the highway for my job and drive about 30 minutes. So this one spot sometimes, and I can get around 50 miles per gallon in the 2.5 and in the VC Turbo 2.0 I got close to 48 miles per gallon, but that was because there was a bad accident and I was sitting in traffic for a few minutes. So honestly, it sounds like it pretty much gets the same gas mileage l o l

How? My 2022 vc turbo only gets 28-29mpg

@@brandonlaird-brundidge5232 you have to keep it on the Instantaneous mpg readout and constantly aim for 40+mpg.

Why because we get the services done on time 😉 This one the next owner has it 154k. I traded it back in April of 22’ with 116k.

@@NissanAltimaGuy like in a hood or before stop sign at low speeds it down shift hard feels like i press brake just happen in sport and normal standerd mode not eco nissan cvt gear brand new car

@@Bin0mar It should be jolting but usually when slowing like 20mph or under it’ll start to engine brake. When the engine braking releases you’ll feel a slight buck. It is completely normal and it depends how hard you’re braking! If you’re braking quickly you won’t notice it. However in Sport mode say going 60mph and tap brake quickly it’ll start to hold one ratio around 3k rpm (basically for roll races or improved engine braking). You’ll definitely feel it downshifting aggressively in sport mode the harder you’re braking (especially if going 60+ mph). All normal operation. How many miles you could be due for a CVT transmission fluid service soon!

@@SlugZzSs lmaoooo this felt kinda quick at the time for a 2.5 n/a 4 cylinder. I’ve done 7.3 0-60 in this car once when it was about 50° outside.

@@J0k3rc11 Yes they did that on our Rogue (I don’t understand why) It doesn’t do that on my Altima and they were the same bulbs. You’ll have to find bulbs that have a built in resistor, or add one to the existing bulbs. At that point it’s probably better just to buy led’s with built in resistors.

@@DrscammerRacingrush2 Idk they’re pretty solid if you actually maintain them. My buddy occckid123 has about 450k on his 16’ 2.5 Altima. Original CVT just needed new engine around 400k. His 19’ 2.5 has 180k + miles.
