- Alone in car finally had a nice stretch of road ahead of me. Had to see what night rider was about lol. (Filmed on that street in Mexico everyone else uses).

I don't know what's crazier..the fact that an Altima goes that fast..or the fact that you actually drove it at that speed.
driving in a straight line at that speed with no traffic isn't a big deal, if it starts getting curvy or if there's traffic then it's starts getting hairy

Right between your fender and door is a piece of rubber or fabric board. The wind passes around the seams of this rubber/board and bypassthe first gasket of the two gasket doors. You can remove the fender liners and add expanding foam to this area and wind noise should be minimal

Its programming in the ecu, need a tuner who can/will do it for you.
it's crazy this car has a higher governed top speed than my 2023 Q50 luxe, the red sport Q50 is governed at 155 but the luxe is governed at 145...I'm going to get it tuned soon though by ECUTEK and that will remove the speed governor

the problem is nissan refuses to build any of the 2.0s....I almost bought a 2.0 last year, and it was super hard to find one, dealers were flooded with the 2.5 ones but only some random dealerships would have ONE 2.0 available. it's weird. it's like they don't wanna make them

idk man it would be close i had the 3.5 camry, an altima and an avalon, i think the avalon would take it from a dig probably until 60 then that cvt would come in clutch and then past 100 the avalon would get it back. ive never been in a family sedan that pulls as hard as the toyota V6 through the 100 mph range, i know my camry was capped at like 130 i think i haven't tested the avalon but 100-130 happens instantly for these toyotas not being sports cars

Maxima can top out at like 158 mph
Maxima stop out at 133 here in the US but I do think other countries they surpass that.
I've always heard that putting a car in cruise control bypasses the limiter and allow the car to top out at what's on the gauge. Not sure if that's true. 🤔
Typically manufacturers calculate speed by tire rating. so I'm not sure, that probably was true in some older cars.
I had an older dodge ram and the cruise control cable snapped while I was driving that thing got stuck at wide open throttle and got me to 125 when it would only let me hit 110
Its not..I drove a GMC terrain and turned the cruise control up as far as it could go and it wouldn't go more than the governed speed of 112 mph

Great video man, I always wanted to do a top speed on mine, but I never had the chance cause traffic in Florida sucks. It’s funny how it only goes 152 when the gages says 180. I was expecting 160 something. But I am guessing cause it has a limiter and also maybe cause of HP? I really wish they made performance parts cause I been waiting this whole time.

It's like then putting 160 on the dash on the earlier altima and the 4 cyl goes 120 and the v6 has the limit at 130 so being able to do 152 is 28mph from the 180 compared to the v6 altima which was 130 but the dash says 160 so that's a 30mph spread instead of the 28mph spread.
Tire speed ratings usually limits the cars top speed from the auto manufacturer

did you drive in sport mode? if u dont you should. If you drive in normal mode the top speed limit will be 120mph, but if you drive in sport mode the top speed should be 130mph.
Not bad top end power for a car with a CVT!
CVTs aren't bad transmissions, they're actually better for keeping the engine at its peak power band, increasing acceleration, but also saving fuel when you wanna drive chill and easy
CVTs were banned in F1 cars for a reason. Look up the history lol
Huh? The whole advantage of cvt is top end power, their weakness is off the line but after that they keep the engine in the powerband better then any other transmission.

I'm wanting to get rid of my 2012 Maxima and get a 2.0 Altima turbo. What do average with the MPG?
Well I recently (haven’t had it but a year may first) did a 300 mile roundtrip in which I wasn’t in any rush. I set cruise for 70-75 the entire way using pro-pilot assist (adaptive cruise) and averaged 39mpg the entire way there and back. Regularly I drive a pretty even mix of city/highway and usually average 31-32mpg (when I try) when I have a heavier foot it’s more like 26-28mpg.

It won't go anymore until you lose more weight on the vehicle. Or drive down hill, or get lighter wheels and tires could in fact add a few MPH. Once you are at the redline at 6,000 RPM. That's it, you won't go any faster unless you can rev pass 6,000 RPM.
Hmm. This makes me wonder what my 2.5l would actually do. Internet says stock top speed is 131. I've only gotten it to 127, but I wasn't pushing it for nearly as long as you. I'm certain the 2.5l goes over 131 stock but now I'm interested to know by how much. I need to find me a really nice, mostly flat road like here in the video...

I have a question what does "sports mode" do on the Altima, I know it allows the paddle shifters but what does it to physically for the car? or is it just being able to use the paddles?
Ds (sport mode) on the Altima it increases throttle sensitivity & transmission responsiveness/simulation shift points it usually “shifts” slightly quicker. Helps with engine braking or it’ll “downshift” if you tap the brake and hold the rpms at like 3k rpm. Depending how fast you’re going if you tap brake hard and quick again it’ll downshift to 4K rpms and hold (for roll races I guess 😉) I don’t have paddles though 🙄 but they were on the 5th gen 3.5’s and SR’s and this generations SR only. 😭

It’s stock and goes 158 in other countries limited to 152 here in the US. Maxima as well does 158 in other countries also. I think the qx50 is limited to 142mph.

how do you remove limiter on 2019 altima? is limiter removed on this altima shown?
I’m pretty sure it’s all electronically controlled. Not sure what device Nissan uses but GM vehicles you can plug in the Tech II into the obd port and there’s a setting to change it I remember seeing when I worked at Chevrolet. My limiter is not removed it’s just the vc-turbo so it’s limited to 152. Other countries it’s limited to 157. I think 2.5’s are limited to 119.

I wish I knew cause I know this can probably go to like 165. Pretty sure dealership scan tools can do it. My 10’ Pontiac g6 gt 3.5 v6 was limited to 105mph. I jokingly asked one of my technician friends at Chevrolet if they could change it, he said yes he could through tech2 scantool GM uses but it’s illegal 🤦🏻♂️
