Excellent explanation, as a novice this video was a huge help.
Nice! Like running standard outer springs and forced droop inner springs at the same time. So the single spring is being used for both extension and retraction. I dig it.
Yes ma’am! Super simple and works awesome! Thanks for hangin out! Hope you have a great day
Banding Down especially front is def key in scaling the steeps. Like how you put the spring over very cool. Tension up is better for crawling in my opinion. Dude love this vid!
Yessir! The spring mod does awesome on light, scale type builds. I use 1/2” and 5/8” black rubber bands (assorted size hair ties from Walmart for $1) on most of my builds, or all of them once they go past a certain point. I love running huge angles, so it’s a must. Thanks for hanging out bro. Hope you have a great one.
I have often wondered why these trucks always run full extension. To me they should have some sag so that you can drop down into a hole without moving the chassis
Exactly! It’s disappointing to watch a lot of these 24’s move, simply from improper shock/spring setup. I’ll be doing more videos with demonstration on how to actually use “the spring mod” to tune your car for your terrain and driving style.
@@texomarc I learned this back in 1987 when I was racing a gold tub Associated RC 10 with six gear transmission I wondered why my buggy was so difficult to drive the tq looked at my car and said move the spring spacers up you need droop
Back watching again, I’m going to be trying this spring mod appreciate you sharing
Heck yeah, bro! Let me know how it works out.
Great instructional video and I will be doing that spring mod. Thanks!
Awesome bro! Thanks! I’m messing around with the gladiator right now. I’ll have to do an actual tuning video and show what does what.
I have to agree with other comments that your spring mod is a genius move. I don’t know if you came up with it or you found it from someone else but either way it is an awesome idea and works brilliantly.
Thanks man! I came up with it or I’d give credit. Glad it’s working for you! I sure appreciate you hanging out and hope you have a great weekend!
Thanks man! I came up with it or I’d give credit. Glad it’s working for you! I sure appreciate you hanging out and hope you have a great weekend!
Thanks for the tip.. I did this on the hot racing tele shocks and it improved the proformance
Heck yeah, dude! Glad it worked out for you! Most people won’t try it even when their car can’t keep up. Thanks for hangin out! Hope you have a great one!
I may not be very smart, but you are genius. Wow thanks.
Thanks for showing me how to do your shock set up!! I’ll try it when I pick up the shocks
Heck yeah bro! It’s something to play around with. So much variability to tune.
@@texomarc yeah for sure!
Sweet spring mod! I look forward to trying this out👍🤘
excellent job,gladiator looks awesome 😀 👌 👍 👍
Thanks brother! Hope your day is tops!
Thanks for the recommendation mate. I like the idea. Will give it a shot soon :)
Heck yeah! Let me know how it goes! Hope you have a great day!
Great mod!! Gotta try this tomorrow after work!
Awesome man! Good luck!! Holler if you have questions. I’ll try to get a tuning video out asap.
CAPTURED!! Lmao thank you sir!! Such a cool mod!! I’ll be doing it later tonight!
Lol. Thanks man! Super easy. Works great. So much to tune with it. Good luck. Holler if you have questions.
The ride height looks great on the front of the gladiator, may have to try that one
Right on man! Super easy and adds crazy tunablity: height, sag and drop out!!! Hope you have a great night!
Man, what a great explanation!
Subscribed!
Appreciate the mod, I’ll be following for more
Thanks man! Great to see you here. Hope your day is tops!
Dude this is super smart. Nice work
Better to be smart than $Mart. Thanks brother!
Thanks for another great vid, these help me out a lot 👊💯👍👍
Awesome man! I worked really hard today but couldn’t pull it off. I’ll do a video tomorrow and demonstrate how to actually use “the spring mod” to tune the suspension for your car, terrain and driving style. I sure appreciate the comment and hope you have a great night!
Best tip ever
Excellent work 👍😉 good job dude 👍
Thanks brother! Hope your day is super!
This was Very helpful!!! Thank you!!!
Very smart, thanks
Cool mods, great info 😎
Thanks bro! Hope you have a great day!
That’s a good idea josh I use rubber bands or fishing string but that’s a good one
No more bro! Just use the springs and you have way more adjustability to get it exactly the way you want it. If you really want it sucked down, put firmer springs in and you could keep it real low and tight. Peace!
One thing as a novice that isn't clear to me that hopefully you can clarify. With this set up can you adjust the collar by turning it and the coils move above/below or do you manually move them using your pick?
@@nigelhutt9921 both.
Many thanks, subscribed
I really like the wheels on your gladiator. Could I have a link to the wheel/tire setup and springs? Thanks great video
They’re injora. You can find them on the injora website or on Amazon. Just search injora 1.0 wheel.
looking most fun mate..enjoy💪
Thanks man! Hope you have a great day!
Good information brother!!!!
Thanks dude! I’ll catch that bucking bronco when I get a minute. Hope you have a great night!
Good Video my Friend 👍👍👍😉
Thank you so much! Hope you have a great day.

Super cool idea ..
BRILLIANT!
Thanks! Hope you have a great day!
I just liked you're laid back attitude and bella's flex intro but you have brain's to thanks heaps keep it up stay safe
Thanks man, I’m a total dork, no question. I hope to inspire other people and demonstrate what’s available/possible. Might as well make it fun! Thanks for the comment and I hope you have a great night!
Cool rigs
Thanks man! I appreciate you hangin out. Hope you have a great weekend.
Solid mod! love it!!

I know it does! Gotta pay to play, though… unfortunately. Hope it all goes smooth and maybe a little time left for some testing! Have a great one bro.

@@texomarc thanks dude! Great day too😎🙏🏻🙏🏻
You got the 43 mm springs???
Yessir. Running the spring mod.
Lol. I didn’t look to see which video this was.
@@texomarc is it really better im new to this crawler world just got me a white jeep 1 24 scale
@@kush6891
Is my car better? Have you watched it go? It’s insane!!!
@@kush6891
Btw, glad you’re here, bro! These things are too fun!
I run my 43mm shocks without springs and a limit strap over the center of the axle. Works great for me. What advantages does this spring mod have over mine? Just curious.
Right on! Kraig, dude I drive with in a lot of videos, sometimes runs no springs. What advantages? For me, number one, the way it looks when it moves. I’m not a fan of the jittery nature of many of the springless setups, at least from what I’ve watched. I want the car to move fluidly. They have no up travel because they’re bottomed out, so the movement isn’t smooth, up or down. I can’t say that it’s an advantage, per se, mine vs yours but I’d love to find out! It’s all a trade off and what’s most important is that your car fits your driving style and conditions. I feel like Maximus is setup pretty nice for where we drive. Any lower and I’d have to take off the bumper and sliders. Thanks for the comment! Hope you have a great day!
Also, I have up tension on the axles that you don’t have, using the spring mod.
@@texomarc thanks for the insight! Just got my scx24 about a few months ago(first rc ever) so I’m still learning! Can’t believe I’ve been missing out on such a fun hobby for so long!
@@WickedRC
Dude, right!? It’s so freaking fun I had to start a RUclips channel to tell people about it. 24’s for life! Lol.
Is that a wood body on that truck? 😮
Yeah buddy!
You should see the other one.
@@texomarc Gotta know how you made that! Lol
@@RCCrawlerz209
It’s something I want to do a video on soon and also want to find an easy way to get the parts out so other people can build them. It’s pretty easy. After making the small parts, I used hot glue to tack the pieces in place and then used tire glue, letting it run into the joints. Then, it’s just sanding/shaping. Stay tuned and I’ll get to it in the next week or two.
@@texomarc Awesome sauce dude! 🤟🏻😎🤙🏻
👍👍
If the spring mod gets you sucked down better ima have to try it on my wife 🤔
Does this work on the c10 as well? I got the 43mm injora shocks and it sits so high.
Yessir! Just be careful with the springs as you slip them past the collar and seat. You don’t want to stretch the spring out or deform it. I currently just run the black hair ties from Walmart but the spring mod works awesome for low/mid weight vehicles doing moderate+ crawling. The spring mod is a huge improvement over what you’re running and would allow you to control ride height, sag and dropout tension. I use the rubber bands because we tend towards extreme crawling and exceed the capability of the spring mod. I used to run between five and seven coils pulled over the collar and just capture at the bottom. I run tighter in the front. Hope that helps. Holler if you have more questions.
Awesome thank you so much brother I appreciate it
Genius! I think I started following you in IG but the account doesn’t have any post. Do you have an IG?
Yes! Sorry!!! I’ll get my butt in gear, lol. So many new things… lots of moving parts. I’ll get there! Thanks for the sub and the follow. Hope you have a great night!
@@texomarc no worries. I just wanted to make sure I’m following the correct account. 😂.
