What is the good location for sunrise and sunset. Let us say we stand by fairmont lake louise where we walk to capture sunrise or use a car but we prefer walking. But not hiking
OMG!!!! Brendan, those photos are incredible! It's so great to see you out and about including the adventure, photos, telling epic stories and my heart skipping a beat when you placed your tripod on the rock by the falls. I'm so looking forward to seeing more of your adventures in Canada. My condolences to you and your family on the loss of your grandmom.
My condolences on the loss of your grandmother Brendan. Welcome back to the Rockies. I was at Herbert Lake this morning to capture the sunrise. It was a treat watching your video seeing you revisit the places here in my local area which you too know and appreciate so well. Safe travels.
My condolences Brendan. It's never easy losing someone but you have a great online community to support, as well as plenty of people in your life, I am sure! Your country is stunning. It is definitely on my list of places I need to see.
What a great picture with the glowing mountains through the fog. Condolences to your family. I imagine, your grand mothers would have loved your images and be proud of your their grand son.
My condolences to you Brendan. You have taken some incredible images of the rockies!! Banff is home for me!! It would be so cool to meet you one day! I love hiking 🚶♀️ 🙏 I was born in Banff and grew up running around in both Canmore and Banff mountains 😊 take care. Once again wicked photos and video 📹
Condolences for your loss. Good to see you out again in the majestic scenery doing what you so enjoy.I hope you carry a PLB when you are out on the hikes. You don’t know what’s round the next corner so-to-speak.
How wonderful to see you back in Canada in the Rockies. What a fascinating adventure with beautiful images. I know you love your new home in Portugal, but it can't compare with this incredible landscape.
By far this has been your best video that I have seen! Maybe because I’m Canadian and live in the southeast corner of BC. I think the excitement of you being home shows. Thanks for sharing
So sorry to hear about your loss, pal. And yes, it is crazy busy at Moraine Lake and Lake Louise these days. So much crazier than the good ol' days twenty years ago. Was there this year during peak season and hiked in to Lake Louise from the village.
Sorry for your loss, Brendan. This seemed like a great trip for you to unwind and get back into the groove after a tough 18 months. It has also reminded me to get back to the Rockies ASAP… (and the photos weren’t too shabby either 😛)
Great to see you in Canada Brendan ! I am a teacher from Texas not a photographer. Your videos have always been a great stress relief for years even though I have never taken a photography trip. Take care Brendan and have a wonderful time in Canada.
Brendan those were lovely images from a stunning location! I've got to get on a plane and see these Canadian Rockies for myself! I would of loved to have seen you hike to a higher point of view and got a shot looking down towards the water with the mountains in the background. Keep up the good work 📸🙂
Wow, loved this video, so good to see you out there doing what you love, I dont blame you for being excited at that alpenglow, it looked amazing! My condolences to you and your family on the loss of your grandmother.
Cracking video Brendan, brought back happy memories seeing Lake Louise and the majestic mountains, great to see you smiling and happy, out with your camera. Stay safe mate!
Sorry to hear about your loss. I do the same recently, just go for a walk whenever I remember my dad. Sadly he passed away in April this year. Thanks for the tips for Canada. Hopefully I will make there in 2022 as my previous 2 trips cancelled due to COVID-19. Great video again 🙂
My condolences on your recent family bereavements Brendan, a difficult time I'm sure. It's great to see you out and about however and creating more inspiration photography content (not that I'm going to see you in Northern Ireland, but you know what I mean).
I'm so sorry for your loss Brendan! It is great to see you getting out to explore Banff National Park again after quite some time. I remember stopping at Bow Lake a few years ago. It was very brief, but the scenery is absolutely incredible there as well as along the Icefields Parkway. The photos turned out great! This video felt like I was watching a pre-pandemic video which felt great!
I’m sorry for your loss but glad that the timing let you be there. Love the rest of what you’ve done here. Definitely jealous of your time in the Rockies.
Good to see you back in Canada, just back from Jasper my new go to place in the rockies . It's a magical place and not as packed as Banff. It has so many good things about it. Lots of 4 footed friends and great vista's . Just a note about the bears at Bow Summit, the resident female who gave birth this spring to two cubs had apparently been killed along with one of her cubs and the other one is perhaps also lost. Her cub from last year also did not survive. Nature is truly beautiful but sometimes it can be less than kind . Kananaskis Goats and Glaciers is great place for Picas (sp).. if you go make sure you get a permit to the park. Great fall color right now. Finally and most importantly, sorry to hear of the loss of your grandmother . Greetings from Red Deer . Stay safe fellow.
Really sorry to hear about your grandmother. On a more positive note, just great to see the Rockies again....one of our fav locations. Thanks for sharing and really looking forward to the next video. Guessing Peyto was still closed?
INSANE timelapses of the fog! :) I really misses these kind of videos! And it's very well put together! Super Happy for you. About your grandmother, I'm sorry to hear that I hope you are all well going through it :/ You you talked about the bear pray, you forgot to mention the "HEY BEAR" that you used to say ahah (ok later in the video you said, I forgive you)
Did any of those Lake Louise spectators know who you were? Great photos, bro. My condolences on your grandmother's passing. I hope you got to see her. Did you see any of those pikas' haypiles? That would be the best place to aim for a photo, provided you had the lens for it. Not sure your 100-400 would be enough without an extender.
First, sorry for your loss. Second, I planned a trip to Banff in 2019 for 2020. We all know what happened in 2020. So, I cancelled what I could and rescheduled the rest for 2021. In fact, I would have been there now. I try to travel the shoulder seasons, but even the shoulder seasons are getting crowded. As you know the Canadian border just opened to nonessential travel. But, with the resurgence of COVID with the Delta variant, I decided to not go this year. I'll have to reschedule once again. I'll just have to travel vicariously through you. Hope you get some great shots.
Covid immediately drove everyone into the woods. Time to put that 40K travel trailer to use. Craziest time lapse I've seen. So, when the bear goes after your candy bar you can throw a grenade at it. It's nice in the Rockies.
Hi Brenden, sorry for your loss. You have been using the eos r for awhile now, just wondering what your thoughts are using this camera? I am looking to purchase as a second body to my 5 d mkiii kit. Do you like it enough to purchase again? Good shooting. Greg
We are heading to lake Louis this week. I am not happy the gondola tickets summer season is closed. Although may be a week ago it was still running of I am not mistaken. If we stand close the the fairmont hotel lake Louis . Where we go to see sunrise and sunset. Knowing I had ankle surgery and I can't hike steppe. And cannot walk on rocks.
Those shots of Lake Louise are so fantastic! Which 3 Legged Thing tripod are you carrying in this video? I've been looking at the Leo 2.0 and was curious if that's what you were using (trying to gauge size for carrying it around).
With all that space at the waterfall location…. Why didn’t you try a long lens from further away? (…to overcome the “wide angle makes everything small” effect)
Harder, yes. But the good news is people really don't travel as "deep" anymore. So there are far more locations that are less busy. Just have to find them.
The increased focus during the pandemic on everyone going to beautiful places in nature, national parks etc is really a double edged sword. It is great that people are getting out and away from their tvs, iPads and the like to enjoy natural beauty but the traffic levels at these spots make them harder to enjoy and I have seen real damage due to the over tourism.
If I sound excited it's because the last time I saw Alpenglow would have been over 2 years ago!!
Singing to keep the bears at bay- that’s epic.
Awesome brother
What is the good location for sunrise and sunset. Let us say we stand by fairmont lake louise where we walk to capture sunrise or use a car but we prefer walking. But not hiking
Yes the rock to climb to hike to the bow hut is GNARLY!! That's nice someone brought a stepping stool!!! lmao! Great vid, welcome back to the rockies
OMG!!!! Brendan, those photos are incredible! It's so great to see you out and about including the adventure, photos, telling epic stories and my heart skipping a beat when you placed your tripod on the rock by the falls. Thank you Joy; for the condolences and watching the video.
Ye ole Banff to Jasper run, I'm so jealous and that bear song, you are the singing photographer🎶😂 That Waterfowl Lake image is beautiful👍😎👍
You are so lucky that you have a access to a such a beautiful wild nature location's. Great video and a great photos. 🤠👍
My condolences on the loss of your grandmother Brendan. Welcome back to the Rockies. I was at Herbert Lake this morning to capture the sunrise. It was a treat watching your video seeing you revisit the places here in my local area which you too know and appreciate so well. Safe travels.
Yeah the rockies looked very cool indeed. I woul love to visit there one day. Great share brother see you again soon. 😀
What a beautiful locations. Just point and shoot, no need to worry about compositions. Entertaining video. 👍👍👍👍
Definitely makes life easier, haha
My condolences Brendan. It's never easy losing someone but you have a great online community to support, as well as plenty of people in your life, I am sure!
Your country is stunning. It is definitely on my list of places I need to see.
I also love that you said: "The photos are secondary". Only too true. Just being in nature is in itself what it's all about for me.
What a great picture with the glowing mountains through the fog.
Condolences to your family. I imagine, your grand mothers would have loved your images and be proud of your their grand son.
Thanks mate!
Banff is the most amazing place in the world that I have been to. Only been in winter, but been a few times. You lucky lucky boy!
it's special in the winter too. My favourite time, though is just right when the lakes are opening up in June.
👍🏻☺👍🏻 wow! Great video! I really wish I coul visit your new home / caffé but it is really nice to see you rediscovering your home base ☺🇨🇦
Beautiful, what an awesome phototrip in Banff. Our condolences on the loss of your grandmother. Much love from the Netherlands.
Condolences for your loss. Good to see you out again in the majestic scenery doing what you so enjoy.I hope you carry a PLB when you are out on the hikes. You don’t know what’s round the next corner so-to-speak.
I've always got the bear spray at the ready.
@@BrendanvanSon Brendan a PLB is in case you have an injury and need to be rescued. Your cellphone may have no signal or no battery.
Lovely to see you really enjoying being out and about doing photography. Great, positive vid. Well done.
Yes it was an Epic Landscape, glad to see u back making videos !!!
Thank you John!
How wonderful to see you back in Canada in the Rockies. What a fascinating adventure with beautiful images. I know you love your new home in Portugal, but it can't compare with this incredible landscape.
Nothing like the Rockies to renew your spirts, and it showed! Loved this video!!
Yes! Thank you!
By far this has been your best video that I have seen! Maybe because I’m Canadian and live in the southeast corner of BC. I think the excitement of you being home shows. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Trevor. I thrive on being able to explore. It's just good to get out and explore again!
This was absolutely fantastic!
Sorry for your loss! Condolences!
Glad you liked it, and thank you!
Blown away by those timelapses
So sorry to hear about your loss, pal.

Oh man! I missed those kind of videos! Keep doing it! They are just mind blowing: entertainment and making wanna go somewhere!
Great Shots dude! And those timelapses from the moving fog/clouds in the valley were awesome!
Thanks mate!
great to see you back , doing what you do best , best wishes for the future

So many amazing images in just a couple of days.
Yeah, I got pretty lucky with the conditions early in this trip. It didn't last. hahaha
Great video Brendon. Excellent photos in an astoundingly beautiful location. Safe travels!
Awesome stuff Brendan! Love this!
The bear song…ha! Great Alpenglow…dang I need to get out to the Rockies! 😎👍🏻

It’s good to see you back doing the thing that you do so well!
Condolences on your losses, at least you are back in Canada for time being. Love that area, had a wonderful trip there several years ago. So beautiful
Some beautiful images were made here champion! Loved this episode 👍🏼
Thanks Andy!

What loss ?
I guess I do need to get out West soon. Thanks for sharing Brendan
Hey Bear!!!! My BVS shirt is my go-to in bear country. It keeps them away. But also attracts the snakes 🧐
Snaaaaaaake

Yeah, I'm guessing they're trying to fix the parking lot there?
Good to see you back in Canada
The Icefield Parkway is an amazing drive! One of the most scenic in Canada, I think.
Mt. Chephren looked great with the alpenglow on it!
Chephron always looks good. One of my favourite peaks.
Love the Aplin glow
INSANE timelapses of the fog! :) I really misses these kind of videos! And it's very well put together! Super Happy for you. About your grandmother, I'm sorry to hear that I hope you are all well going through it :/

ah I forgot, amazing photos on the lakes!
That’s definitely better than the boring same Portugal landscapes !
Amazing Content…..that rock crossing 😱
Wild, right?
Please everyone, get to know Canada! I do agree with Brendan, this is agreat country indeed!
May her memory be a blessing

So sorry to hear about your loss. But I did like the images you took, nice job.
Hey Brandon. I hope you do photography in Calgary just like old times 😀

Those shots of Lake Louise are so fantastic! Which 3 Legged Thing tripod are you carrying in this video? I've been looking at the Leo 2.0 and was curious if that's what you were using (trying to gauge size for carrying it around).

Sorry for the loss of your grandmother xx
How about a montage of Brendan saying “Wow am I out of shape!”???
I cant believe all those people,we went to lake louise in 1970,never saw anyone, landscape photography has gotten a lot harder
Harder, yes. But the good news is people really don't travel as "deep" anymore. So there are far more locations that are less busy. Just have to find them.

Which tripod do you use?
I say this lovingly and with good intentions, so don't take this the wrong way, but you are partly the reason for this @1:18
