I've been following you and your family since you and your brother in law built my house at Moosomin Lake in 2017. If I remember correctly there were only 9 in your family at the time. If you keep growing you're going to need to have Julie or one of of your kids follow with a second bus.
So you have generator power, shore power, solar, battery an engine alternator, inverters and multiple AC/DC voltages. All of which are interconnected with wiring. Quite an accomplishment and you make it look simple. Been with you I think, 2 years and learned a lot.
Oh my goodness, I think I started watching your family videos when you lived in Genesis bus. I can't remember how many years it has been. LOL we love all your family videos, they are vantastic. I searched up How to install 50amp transfer switch and was happy to see this video and even happier to see you were installing the same until I already bought. It’s true that this installation is pretty straight forward, accept for the confusion I had with regards to the wiring that was done by the factory, which, sadly, you didn’t even mention. I had to freeze the video and zoom into to see that the wiring was just left as is. Oh well, I guess that counts for something.

First time watcher. Your video was easy to follow, straight forward and to the point. The only thing you could have included was torquing specifications for the terminals. Most ATS fail because of loose terminal connections. Again well done video.

Great video, easy to install as I suspected as I just received mine. I am using mine for an RV system with backup gen when utility goes off. Amazon states that this will start my generator too but I don't see any wiring for the generator. Do you know anything about the auto start function or did they mislabel it on Amazon and I need a start controller?
I bought this based on your video here. You're right. It's quality. It also says it can do two wire autostart. But I don't see a schematic for that nor did it include any instructions for how to connect the genset autostart function. Did you do that also? Right now I am manually starting it.
@@TheBusLifeShow I spoke with the seller. Above the breakers there are two terminal posts to the left near the neutral bar. Those two wires feed 120 VAC. Just need a module that detects when AC voltage goes to 0 VAC and it will start the genset. We're still looking for our first coach. We appreciate your videos and content.
So would this work for two shore power inlet plugs on a 5th wheel one in the back and one on the side of the trailer because some parks are deferent location for the power and I don't want to carry a long or extension for the 50 amp cord
Hi I am a new subscriber to your channel and I just bought that same Briidea transfer switch that I watch your how to install, the problem I have is the 3 small black wires were not connected and I don’t know where to go so can you help me,Therefore my transfer switch does not work
Would I use this same switch if I also run solar panels? Am I, correct in assuming the panels should go through this switch? I am planning on running a Victron Multiplus, so I am not sure if that manges the switching allready or not.
I recently purchased the same Transfer switch for my 50 amp RV with Onan 7500. While hooking up the new ATS I noticed my Gen only has 1 Leg. Black,white,green. After hooking it all up I fired the Generator an no power going through the switch. I have power to my 1 hot leg but not to panel? Can you help?
@@TheBusLifeShow thats what im trying to figure out... there is not a single video on youtube that explains how to wire: generator, shore, batteries and solar. and to have them interconnect and funnction properly with transfer switches, converters, inverters and the fuse and breaker panel

Just watched your video. You didn’t mention the bars that come mounted to the lower terminals. Appears you removed them. Am I correct?

No, the solar panels run into your solar controllers and then to your batteries.

That’s strange. I’m not sure why you had that issue. Mine is hooked up the same way.

Yes, we do. The solar is a separate system though.
