    Wow. So glad I found a video with actual milky way shots with this lens. Just what I needed to hear.

    Thank you, Leigh! I recently purchased this lens and wanted to see your take. So far I concur. The lens is better than I expected and a ton of fun to shoot with. The in-camera distortion correction on my a7iv elevates it to a new level. Keep up the great work. I do, however, feel obligated to point out a tiny TECHNICAL PROBLEM with your production: the included Amazon link sends me to the Tamron 24 mm rather than the 20 mm!

    The lens that knocked my socks off' is the Tamron 20mm f/2.8 Di III OSD for Sony E Mount I am stunned by the results and immediately looked up Tamron 20mm f/2.8 for my coming Nikon Z50 or existing Nikon cameras. As a zoooom freak, you are turning me back on to one size lenses. Another great video, thank you.

    Got that lens. It is great. Compact and great value. I especially like the short focus point. Enable some great creative angles.

    I went for the Samyang/Rokinon 18mm 2.8 for Sony FE, very small and light, be interesting to see you review that for comparison. Thanks :-)

    I am confused, the link takes one to a 24mm Tamron, when doing an Amazon search for the 20mm you were reviewing, the search results go to a 20mm aps c Tamron. Oh well, BTW, I have an AF 85 Viltrox 1.8 and like you and many others find the lens to be superb. At one time, I thought of purchasing the Viltrox 20mm 1.8 manual lens, but went to the Sony 16-35 f/4 for my Real Estate photography, though I rarely use it past 28 or 30 mm. Keep up your reviews. Your enthusiasm for your passion is contagious.

    I've been totally blown away by this Samyang AF 85mm f/1.4 on my Sony a7 IV it's been an outstanding portrait lens, beautiful in low light an all-around great one to have in the bag. I have the 1st generation of this and I'd be interested to hear how the newest generation performs as well as their 135mm f1.8.

    Sigma contemporary lenses for Sony aps c cameras - 16mm f1.4, 30mm f1.4, and 56mm f1.4. Superb lenses especially for the price.
    I'd like to see a review here of them.

    That distortion is nasty but I love the 35mm 2.8 Tamron. I'll probably buy this one as well. You'll throw some pixels away, but the color, contrast and overall performance is really good even with corrections thrown in. 199.00 right now...not bad at all.

    It's fun to have a wide lens. I sometimes use my 'toy' 9mm on my Olympus EP5 for quirky perspective (and easy stowage, since it's a pancake). Not sure I'd shell out for a more expensive (MUCH higher quality!) around this length, though the majority of my shots are at between 28-50mm equiv focal length. Cool that 3rd party products are back in the quality game.

    Enjoyed this video! Please continue with the third-party lens reviews. Consider the TTArtisan or 7Artisans lenses (separate companies, both in Shenzhen, China). I'm impressed so far with the TTArtisan 21mm f/1.5 on my Leica M9. They make a 50mm f/0.95 that I'm thinking about buying.

    I've got a few items on my wish list, but I can't afford them all. How about are Canon lenses worth adapting to my Sony A9? Especially the Sigma 18-35 f1.8 Art lens. Is the autofocus that bad for video? Is it the best cinematic non-extending zoom lens for video? Okay call me crazy, I have no intention of purchasing the Lumix GH6 (whenever they decide to release it) until everything is fixed in GH5. Hold on, one more thing while I have your attention. Can you talk me off the ledge of looking at the super wide Laowa 7.5mm f2 or the Laowa 9mm lenses. Thanks for putting in the time to be knowledgeable about all this stuff.

    Although it has been out for a while, I would be interested in seeing you do a test on the Tokina Firin 20mm f/2.0 (Manual Focus) lens. There are a few unboxing videos, but not many real reviews. I have one and I really like it. I bought it primarily for astro but I find I use it for more than that. I would really like to hear your thoughts. (Always nice to get a pro's opinion.)

  • @marknathan7744
    @marknathan7744 2 года назад

    Auto correction destroys corner sharpness lens manufacturers rely to much on digital correction I would rather see less distortion and better correction with a slightly higher price tag not the rediculous amount Sony are asking for there 20mm though which is alot for a 20mm prime and really not exactly supervwide so should not be that hard to make at a reasonable price tag perhaps Sony should make a f2.8 version smaller lighter cheaper with the same optical performance of the f1.8 version .

    Hello Does this work in sony a6000?

    • @michaelhenecke
      @michaelhenecke 4 года назад

      Yes you will get a 1.5 crop due to the smaller sensor on the A6x00 series camera so you won't get the full image the lens can see so I think it would be closer to 30mm lens. I would recommend the Sigma 30mm 1.4 or if you want wider the 16mm 1.4.
