Purchased a 2018 Sorento near the end of the model year several months ago. It replaced a 2012 model that my wife loved. Had to convince her to give up her older Sorento but after a couple of days driving the new model she would never go back. The older Sorento's suspension was like a buckboard over speed bumps. Completely fixed. The old version had some oddly placed controls. Ditto. And my wife's pet peeve was that the front seat passenger side AC vents could not be fully closed without turning off the fan. Again, Kia fixed it. Another minor but critical feature--a 120Volt outlet in the back seat. Genius. And if the 2018 model is as reliable as the 2012 had been for 80K miles, I'll be happy.
It should be noted that there are few if any 2018 models left of dealer lots (at least here in the Pacific NW). But the 2019 model seems to have maintained Kia's progressive improvement program with an eight speed transmission and LED headlights. Grows by a couple of inches in length, not an improvement as far as I'm concerned but YMMV.

It is indeed great to know who was behind the design of this amazing SUV where is it build, features vs other brands. My wife was just about to get the Honda Odissey and as I told her thats not a daily commuting car... Many many thanks Lauren, so far the best review ever in RUclips!!!
Lauren, I believe you meant to say that the safety features do not work when they are obscured by snow/mud, etc., so wipe them off. Just because it is snowing out does not mean they will not work. Keep up the good work!

We love our Sorento SXL. The 290 hp and all wheel drive, along with all the tech is the best value in it’s class.
Honda’s tip of the line Pilot or any Honda for that matter don’t include surround view.

Good review Lauren. Only thing I'd mention is that you are driving the 2018 model but in your video, you keep showing clips of the pre-refreshed 2017 model. Show the new one; the one you're driving. Thy're not exactly the same, after all.
Good eye! Sometimes b-roll isn't available for the newest models, so we have to work with it.

Have to say that it's VERY quiet. Wind noise is minimal.
With taxes, it would cost 52 grand in CA! Do they have 10 year auto loans? LoL
