    Good review of presenter talking about how the car is a good drive, not just superficial pictures of the car and what it looks like.

    Good fix guys. Great suv. Maybe too much camera time fixed on presenter instead of vehicle.its a shame Kia have removed any interior colour choice on the GT Line, its black ,black, or black. Love that red/ brown leather other models have/ had. It looks really classy in my book.

    Me thinks best value for money SUV. Now with 8 speed auto will be even better. Kia is the Skoda of the Asian market. Very good vehicles but underrated.

    Pity Kia don’t offer AWD petrol models like Mazda do with the CX9. Diesel motor likely to end up giving many owners very expensive particulate filter problems when they fail to do enough highway km’s tooling around the burbs.

      Lucky you Pablo. I bought 2018 in Sep 2017. Now it will be considered old when this one is at dealers by March 2019. What should I do ?

    • @carsguide
      @carsguide  6 лет назад

      LakhTek, don't worry - no matter which car you buy it will out of date within six-12 months anyway due to the revisions car companies make. If you are really troubled - you could always sell the car immediately and wait until the new one comes out to buy it. Yes you'll lose a bit of money, but you are always going to lose money on cars whenever you sell unless it's a classic. RB

    Hi everyone. If you have a MY20 Sorento, can you please tell me if the fuel filler neck comes with spring loaded metal flap that closes when fuel nozzle is pulled out of the filler neck? I came across one yesterday that doesn't have one and it seems weird that it is the case. Thanks.

    A more serene Richard Berry. I hope the boss hasn't told him to tone it down, he's the best reviewer on here! Kia still going from strength to strength.

      Sulainmany City looks like an amazing place. I've travelled (by bus, of course) through central Turkey, but not Iraq. One day. Toyotas are respected for their reliability and for being tough - perfect for where you live and also for Australia. RB

    so its basically a facelift more than a new model

    • @carsguide
      @carsguide  6 лет назад

      Yup, this isn't a new model as in a new-generation Sorento. But Kia have gone a lot further than most car companies do when they update a car with a facelift. They've improved the ride and handling by changing the the shocks and springs, then the Australian engineering team tested it to tailor the ride to Aussie roads and that is a significant undertaking. Many car companies wouldn't bother. The technology inside has also been updated. And then they've done what all brands do and tweaked the styling. Richard Berry

    Bought 2018 kia sorento from kia in rolla mo. Brand new 24000 miles thank God we got extended warranty we done the oil changes the recall updates everything according to warranty it started useing oil not leaking useing 2-3 quarts every 50-100 miles took it to Dealer 3 times told nothing wrong it never showed any lights finally it started every 30-50 miles we took it back to dealer they called and said that when they put camera down cylander it showed rings had worn and scared the cylander and parts of the rings had come apart it has 100014 miles on it now I no why they only have 100000 mile warranties that's all the engine life it has but there going to put another one in it from a junk car with 100000 miles on it yah! So if you have a kia use discretion trade it before 100000 miles or good luck I forgot to say it is the 1.6 turbo 4 cylander good luck.

    The petrol is NOT more powerful.
    It has more horse power but any idiot knows torque is power and in a heavy car like this the more torque the better. The diesel has more torque and will be an easier drive

    • @carsguide
      @carsguide  6 лет назад

      Hi Paul, the petrol engine is more powerful. Power and torque are two very different measurements. Torque is not power. Richard Berry

    • @pauldavison7105
      @pauldavison7105 6 лет назад

      Sorry but torque is power. Torque is what pushes your vehicle and tows your load.
      Your bhp doesnt matter if you don't have the torque. If you have two cars with 300bhp but one has 200nm and one has 400nm the 400nm car will be faster and tow more.
      Your outdated in your thinking of power.

    • @shanegoh5639
      @shanegoh5639 6 лет назад

      Power = torque X rpm. Power isn't torque. Petrol engines can work at higher rpm than diesel. So even though petrol has less torque, it can end up with more power. Also in this case, for the KIA sorento, both cars do not have the same horsepower. The diesel version has less horsepower than the petrol version.

    • @liverpooldragons
      @liverpooldragons 5 лет назад

      You can have high power with low torque if the engine revs very high. Power is combination of torque put together with how many revs.
      low torque at high revs can make same power as high torque engine not revving much.
      I like high torque to cruise around in low gears not having transmission constantly changing to be at optimun revs to get the sufficient power from lack of torque.

      Really, North Iraq? That's a dangerous neighbourhood I hear. Do you have a Kia? What's happening now with the Kurdish independence? It was a 93 per cent yes vote. Stay safe out there. RB

      CarsGuide Turkey will do its best to stamp out Kurdish independence either in its own borders or in neighbouring Syria or Iraq. And Bagdad is not keen for a Kurdish state either.

    Boring review. When talk about the engine should talk about power as well as fuel econmy.

  • @migueltabang4757

    Maybe kia should take note of Ford s strategies with its SUV s here in the philippines if it wants its sorento to sell in this country. Good or tall ride height great water wading capability of 800 mm affordable price and greater off road capability. A mere facelift will not do. Wake up kia and stop dreaming. Only a handful of your sorento will sell here in the philippines if you continue with this useless strategy of yours. Don t be naive.

  • @omaraziz2952

    shock absorbers of KIA and Hyundai have low quality and soon become rough .

    • @carsguide
      @carsguide  6 лет назад +1

      Are you in Australia, Omar? Kia and Hyundai have aa local engineering team here in Australia which tests and sets up the vehicles for Aussie roads. The result is Kias and Hyundais with completely different shock/spring combinations to their cousins overseas. This investment means the ride and handling of our Kias and Hyundais is up there with the best. RB
