Kia has just stepped it's game so much since 90's and 00's, now they make great products.
Still no match for a Corolla.
Social Justice Warrior but not the same comfort and gadgetry as Kia now. Too plasticky imo. Corolla are for those who only seek pure resale value and reliability.
I don't think there is a bad car in KIA's lineup.
New K9 seems great...
Nice. My uncle has 2008 rio that has clocked more than 400k kilometers and runs realtively well. It had been in ditches more than any car though.
A friend lent me his Kia Sorento during the time of my wedding, and it was not only good at carrying a huge load of wedding decorations, but also all the gifts afterwards. The practicality was unbeatable.
A posh transit van then ......
John Rawnsley but does your transit van also carry 7 people?
Honfy Lam,
You basically got a transit van, free of charge!
It winds me up when people bash Kia it’s a good brand, not necessarily exciting but very well made and nicely specced. Not a budget brand anymore at all and will treat you much better than a VAG or Mercedes product of twice the price...
P B exactly. I absolutely love my Tucson because it feels like an Audi or Mercedes. I get alot of my friends asking me what car I drive and I tell them its a Hyundai and they were surprised!
Honestly, I am not even interested in the Kia and I don't live in the UK, so I won't ever be carwow's customer, but Mat is just such a great host that I would watch him review anything!
🤮
5:18 Finally a Kia passed the centre console shake test
Does it come in 5 seats?
Probably the most stupid test done on a vehicle, ever!
My Optima is just fine 😎
@@yanni2737 it's not a stupid test, after years of driving a vehicle, the strength of the interior design/construction will determine how much rattling occurs. In cheaper cars after a few years the rattling and vibration becomes very noticeable and irritating.
@@damachinen thr centre concole never rattles in any vehicle. Period. Its a retarded test done by all these u tube reviewing idiots that know fuck all about cars and who getting paid by manufacturers to give positive reviews depending their sponsor.
Mat's analogies are always spot on... Loved this one
Drove to Chamonix from UK in my 2015 Sorento and got 5 blokes ( 2 six foot+) , their gear , 4 snowboards on roof, enough food for 5 days and it took the lot. It dealt with torrential rain, no space complaints from passengers, no power issues (possibly around 35kg off full loading weight) and got around 35 to the gallon. Standard heated front and rear seats on KX3 were a godsend driving back to the apartment from the slopes. Ive done this trip twice now and its a great vehicle for it.
If everything goes right I will have it in a week!
I drove it and it's very smooth, its definitely a car for long journeys...
Huge space for the children , comfortable , nice quality..
The cruise control has an indicator, it just can't activate under a certain speed (around 15 kph) especially since it's adaptative. Well at least that's how it works on the last half generation one ;)
I was looking for a sorento review the night before i was thinking why carwow doesn't have the review now it has wow
Talk about (car) wow
I really wanted to see a review of this particular car and there it is!
And, I have to say that I only watch these reviews because you make them watchable.
Finally! Thank you for doing this. I waited so long for a review on this car from you
Wow, very impressive from Kia! What a well thought out car with almost no compromises
I love carwow so much I had two ads didn't skip any of them!
Love watching the reviews
Kia has been making really good cars lately....i love the sportage
Watched so many car reviews and your review is outstanding. Feel like a real person/friend with real emotion sharing. And not some robotic reading.
Thanks. That's what we try to achieve.
Kia has some amazing products now. It's quite amazing how much they are improving every year.
Thank you Matt for making this review
I’ve driven the newest Kia’s and damn, absolute marvels
I love your rewievis 😎. Greetings from Slovenia
I love your reviews, Mat! Cheers from Mexico
The reason the tilt & slide is only on one side is so that rear seat passengers can only eneter/exit from the kerb side, never the road. Stops little kids who are usually the ones in the very back from getting run over.
Thank you! I constantly hear this remark during reviews. It's clearly intentional engineering.
It's cost saving. If you have one child in a car seat, that needs to be on the kerb side. The other kids therefore have to get in on the road side. Most of our journeys don't involve parking on a street, so it's not a problem. It makes no difference on our drive or in a car park which side you get out. If you can only get in the back from one side, that would rule this car out for me.
I love the Sorento, and when I win the lottery, I will definitely upgrade from my 2012 KX-3 to the newest one! Anyone who buys the Sorento will not be sorry!
Whats your obsession with Megan Markle??
Mat, this is one of the funniest presentatios I've seen you making to a car. Congrats. It suits you. You made a KIA Sorento sound interesting.
"But can you do thiiiiis" 1:35
I'm not 9 years old so i don't know the reference 😶
Nuhan Hidayat pewdiepie chair
Only £ 29,000!
Nuhan Hidayat I feel bad for you
Meme Wooooshhh
Kia makes good looking cars
Royhan BECAUSE WHITE PEOPLE DESIGNED THE FUCKING CAR. NOT KOREANS LOL!
K Z A So what????
@@jarenong once again who gives a shit there are korean designers as well the main ones yes are from germany but he is not the only one. Why does it matter if white people designed the car??? Im sure there were white people that designed other asian cars as well. Stop pointing race out I hate people that do that. I hate any race Black, white that constantly point out races and first thing they think is there race. I dont and many people dont really notice it that much till people like you come along and always have to point it out. Btw I am White
Some of the most prolific car designers in the world come from South Korea.
Yup!
My brand new Audi S4 paint is covered in orange peel paint, so it's not just a KIA issue.
KoLAN Lmao the S65 or Maybach from AusfahrtTV had also orange peel for over 250.000€ (look Up the review with the blonde Lady)
This is a fucking joke for that price.
KoLAN It seems like most newer cars have paint like that, regardless of the brand and the price.
Yeah, I wonder if it's just done that way to try and prevent chipping..? I see a lot of newer asian cars having paint jobs like that.
Have you reviewed the new 508 yet? Would love to hear your thoughts.
is there any plans for reviewing the 2019 g-class?
So many new vehicles get launched in Europe and you do such a great job at showing the cars. One day i know my car channel will be like yours. I'm going to make it happen 👏👏👏👏👏 congrats on the 1M subs
Loved this video THANKS
Hyundai santa fe 2019 pleaseeeee
oh dear...
Same car essentially 😂
It's horrible to drive... we just bought a kia sportage but sorry now we didn't reaserch the sorrento more cos with three kids the sportage boot is small
Please do a review on 2019 Suzuki Jimny...
the back storage with the third row down, is really nice and flat. well done Kia.
Great review! 👌
2:01 I see what you did there Mat, I-KIA
Ha ha
I live in china now, and bought one there. They call it the Kx7. comes with a 2.0 liter Turbo with 245 Hp. I love it. Had the sportage before, and also loved that one. But this one is really great.
Just a tip for anyone looking at buying one. If you have a full size spare wheel (some have it) you need to find a method to protect it as its known to be nicked by cutting the winch cable!
our next family car. looking forward to purchasing it soon, amazing practicality
The Sorento definitely looks very nice, has great proportions and is very practicable but the diesel only will put people off now. My big worry is whether or not the AWD drivetrain has been improved because the previous generation has serious problems with it from the transfer right back to the rear diff. They broke due to being too lightweight for the engine's torque and cost thousands of pounds to replace because it's almost impossible to get used or pattern parts. There's a reason why Kia's plummet in value after their long warranty expires.
It's funny how he covers the Verdict section with his thumb while talking about savings though carwow
I live in San Francisco so our Sorento cars are a bit different in the US, but I loved your review style it’s refreshing.
You feeling alright Matt? Climbing all about the place 😂😂
Mat with the glasses 🔥🔥
Shame we only get the diesel in Europe. In USA they get a petrol V6...
We only get the diesel Sportage as well...
Well for towing and long trips, you gotta have the diesel
True!
Billy Johnson In the UK you can get a 1.6 naturally aspirated petrol in the Sportage or a 1.6 Turbo petrol, 175ps I believe. I'd rather have the 2.0 turbo they get in the US but at least it isn't diesel only like the Sorento.
Diego Mendi nobody would buy them in europe
That crawl though
Great review.
My dad is gonna buy one and we are going to drive it from the UK to Hungary super excited
Hey Matt, great & helpful review, thanks!! I always enjoy them!! Could you please review the Renault Koleos dci 175 AWD initiale Paris? Btw, its panoramic sunroof has two positions: 1st automatic stop is 3/4 open for less windnoise, 2nd is completely open.
Love your reviews....and you pretty much sold me the car....done !! Well its for my wife and now I need to go convince her
Great review, I'm interested in watching the practicality review - does anyone have a link for this please?
Looking forward to your review of the new 2021 Sorento!
Same here, I almost made my mind to buying it, a review by matt would be nice now.
Can you do a telluride?
I haven't seen Mat take this test route since the early Carbuyer days!
Be sure to check the oil level at each gas fill up. My 2017 Sorento burns a quart of oil every 1000 miles and the dealership says that is...."normal"!!
i tested drive the 2018 model today. IT WAS AMAZING. SMOOTH RIDE. Imagine driving a SUV from comfort ride to sporty. loll lets race!!
Nice review! But Matt said this is the top model. It definitely is NOT. The top model comes with bigger, better wheels, brown quilted napa leather seats that are heated and ventilated. Also comes with heated steering wheel and a full suit of active safety features. I think this is worth mentioning.
Great review. This or the Kodiaq? Would love a comparison vid.
We would also like to see the review of Kia Grand Sedona.
@carwow 7:31 I think you have to actually be in motion to see the speed that you set the Cruise control for. It is not a mystery as you suggest here. It is displayed. And What’s even more cool is that once you set a Cruise speed, and if there is a vehicle in front of you that is not allowing you to maintain that speed, the car will automatically apply the brakes to slow you down.
A bit of the old Q7 in the overall profile/shape. The merc GLS in the last quarter profile from the sides.
Make also a review of the 2019 santa fe🙂
I have been waiting for years for him to review the Kia Sedona/ carnival
very nice review
Thks.
@carwow you know why there is no pull tab on the right hand side but rather the left hand only, so one can safely embark /disembark from the left hand side (kerb side) on a right hand drive vehicle
Hi Matt, you are awesome mate, I like your all reviews, can you please do review on 2021 Kia Sorento top model please
Practical car. All I need for my first car.
Drove a 2017 model in Iceland in November...very competent car, got 5 people's luggage for a week in with room to spare.
2:00 shopping at I - *KIA* indeed
My mum has that car but with no sunroof but when you said about the controllable air conditioner in the back cause like I always sit in the back when where going somewhere in her car and if I sit in the I NEVER sit in the seat where there’s no controllable air conditioner
Great channel.
the shade of it all
Review and comparison on the Hayundai santa fe 2018 please
There's also Matt's carbuyer review version of this car
A good choice. I love my mk1 Sorento, however the ladder chassis and solid rear axle whilst good for offroading gives a very jarring ride over bumps and potholes. These new softer monocoque 4x4s are better if you dont need rugged agricultural ability.
Just what I'm looking for, a big spacious car with all the spec and not heavily over priced.
Please Review the 2021 model
Is this the 2019 facelift?
Hi Matt, just wondering when you'll be test driving the new sorrento ?
I saw one yesterday and thought it looked pretty smart 🙂
Hi matt, could u possibly review the new 2018/2019 Mazda CX-9 SUV. Thanks
Mat, when will you review the new 2020 Sorento? Waiting forward for it :)
Thanks. Great
Good job Kia
Please review the new Kia Telluride
love this beautiful big car .... maybe my next....
Pls review the santafe 2019
can you do latest sorento 2021 review
PLEASE DO A REVIEW FOR LINCOLN NAUTILUS 2019
I have one question.
Can you recline the 2nd row of seats if you get the 5 seater variant of the Kia Sorento?
3:02 i just knew Matt would bang his head
Can you do a Kia cerato 2019 review?
How does it perform off road?
I don't get it why Kia and Hyundai decided not to offer a 5 meters SUV in Europe. They have it in USA and Canada (Teluride and Palisade) but won't bring them to Europe. Why? Volvo XC90 sels like hot bread and the germans has full size SUV and now even Ford and Lexus... I would like a Palisade or Teluride but now I have to look to the new Explorer.
5m SUVs are the only to consider if you want 7seats. Otherwise you have to choose between people and stuff. You can't get both!
Mums got the 2019 kx3 2.2 litre in white it’s bloody nice
Nice car for Kia
any observation that this has 40k views in 4 hours? Insane....for a normal car! Good job matt keep it up! Would like to see a review of the vw sharan on carwow and not carbuyer as carwow is much better!!
hey Matt could you review the hyundai santa fe 2019? Please?
Brilliant analogy! We love this vid (and car tbh) Oh, and the (s)pecs, big time! ;-)
