Amen, Floods was always one of my favorites. I bought Trendkill in 1998, I was in 9th grade, I’d rewind the outro and listen to it over and over again for hours…in class or in bed. The guitar tone Dime used there with the rain was just magical. I recently went back and brushed up on a dozen Pantera songs, there was always a lot of parts in the solos I knew I was never doing quite right as the guitar magazines were always hit or miss. If only there was RUclips and songsterr back then!

This video shows just how good these three guys are musically and how brilliant the Abbots were at writing. Thank you for making this.
Rex was always phenomenal . I think TGSTK and RTS are two albums where you can hear just how versatile he is and how he can match Dime note for note and then go off on his own and still sound perfectly synced with Dimebag..his bass playing in Down is just as incredible playing along two bad ass guitarist in their own right with Pepper and Kirk.. He can play guitar like a mofo as well. He put out a solo album and he plays guitar and sings on it and it's not bad at all. Dude is just a well rounded musician.
Although he’s not flashy, he has a solid groove and an incredible touch on his instruments that translates into an amount of nuances that makes even few notes weighting tons. One of my heroes since my very early days into music.
I came here for that solo . Trendkill literally dropped the day my mom died in my arms at 17 years old and this dark extremely aggressive album carried me through the darkest time of my life but this solo was warm and emotional and pulled on the strings of my heart in a way I just couldn't explain. Thank you for posting this and props to Zak for stepping into the shoes of a true legend so we can still enjoy this amazing music. ❤

That's the thing. Zakk isn't trying to fill shoes. He's paying tribute to his friends. He's made no secret of this and is talented enough to hit Dime manorisms but with a touch of Wylde. For me it's perfect. If I want to hear Dime I have records, I want the soul and Zakk brings that in droves.
As a fan of Dime since the 1990 release of CFH and then Zakk several years later when he joined Ozzy, I love this combo Dime/Zakk style live! Sure he misses some notes and plays others different, but he's never tried to replace Dime... There simply isn't another on this planet who could love and pay homage to their long lost buddy like Zakk is to Dime! The first time I heard them do this a few weeks ago, I was absolutely floored how well both Zakk and Charlie did! It definitely let some tears flow as I've always thought this to be Dime's most soulful solos and Zakk did an amazing job🤘😭🤘Without Phil's vocals, it is so much easier to fully hear and appreciate Rex's amazing bass throughout!
Y’all keep saying that but dime couldn’t fill Zakks shoes either!! I’ve heard dimes ozzy songs live and they were way off!! But that’s what makes them all legendary!! They have unique styles that can’t be duplicated. Who tf would want any legend playing the exact way the other legend played? If they did they wouldn’t be legends. They would be clones. Zakk is the best for this job and dime would absolutely approve just like if zakk died he would approve dime playing his songs although they wouldn’t sound exactly the same
@@kidmac1514 Well said! Both Dime and Zakk more than likely could practice enough and sound almost, if not exactly the same, but then each would be suppressing their own unique style. I'm sure drummers or drum lovers can easily make out the difference between Vinnie and Charlie, but my ears and brain can't.
I just saw an interview with Benante, he said he wants to play just like the records are, so, they tune the drums exactly the same that Vinnie used to do, trying to play 😊 Vinnie's way is his way to honor him.
I saw them live at Tons of Rock in Oslo last summer. Charlie’s playing and his drum sound was fantastic. So happy that I got to experience this Pantera revival.

When they came on at Met Life and to hear the crowd loud AF bellowing “Respect. Walk” sent shivers down my spine. These songs are alive again. Thank you, for doing this.
I would say Pantera wins for best rundowns to date. This is some great bonus footage. The drum rundown was also great. And there was two blasts from the Taurus pedals in here to boot that came through nice and deep.
How can anyone hate on phill for bringing back these magical times in our childhoods?? I guarantee dime bag is smiling and lighting off fireworks yelling at Vince ( listen to this fucking shit bro Zack is killing it and Charlie is your fucking echo dude )

@@matthewdumas5342 I know, not for this project, but in my opinion, his best sound was when he first joined Ozzy, “No rest for the wicked - no more tears” era. It’s only my opinion.
@@Manlopsan2He's using EMGs, literally any guitar with those in them sound exactly alike, they're extremely consistent. I have a Gibson camo Wylde and I have a Wylde audio Odin grail, guess what? They sound exactly the same.
Even though Vinnie Paul was against a Pantera reunion without Dime I think he would be proud Charlie Benante has done a remarkable job and they sound great Phil Anselmo zakk and of course Rex minus Dimes pick attack they sound like Pantera which I wasn't expecting losing the drummer and the guitar player and Phil Anselmo being away for so long really have to hand it to Charlie Benante without the drums they would sound like a different band he's nailed it if I didn't know better I would have thought it was Vinnie up there.
Bass line on this song is absolutely nasty, especially under the first solo. Killer song, I didn’t like it the first time I heard it and my only explanation must be that I smoked so much crack that I forgot
This goes to show how Sabbath influenced genres are actually the same: you can call this song either grunge or doom according to what vocalist would sing it.
The only way I could see new music would be if it were old material that the original 4 put together and was never recorded. I know vinnie and dime had an album worth of damage plan stuff that will never see the light of day.
Caralho isso ficou fudidamente maravilhoso esses caras tem que vir logo pro Brasil, nunca vou me perdoar por não ver Floods ao vivo, a música da minha adolescência, olha esse solo tá fudido de perfeito.
I just saw the last show of this leg of the tour in Quebec City. Both Pantera and Lamb of God sounded tight as hell. Best part was everyone in attendance was having a blast for what truly is and was a celebration. My first Pantera show was Feb 2, 2001 in Mesa, AZ at the Mesa Amphitheatre. Oh those beautiful memories! I last saw Dime on stage one month before we sadly lost him when Damage Plan was opening up for Shadows Fall in Anaheim, CA at the House of Blues. When I bought my ticket weeks in advance at the H.O.B box office my ticket was miss printed as Damaged Plan. I have the ticket stub in my collection and it still gives me chills to think back on that. After Damage Plan finished their set Dime was just hanging out by the bar. I wanted to go say hi and buy him a drink but for whatever reason I didn't. I still think about this all these years later. I deeply regret not going up to him to say thank you. This will haunt me forever...

@@matthewdumas5342 I know, not for this project, but in my opinion, his best sound was when he first joined Ozzy, “No rest for the wicked - no more tears” era.
It’s only my opinion.
@@matthewdumas5342 he's using his own brand, Wylde audio guitars. Dime played Washburn and Dean
@@Manlopsan2He's using EMGs, literally any guitar with those in them sound exactly alike, they're extremely consistent. I have a Gibson camo Wylde and I have a Wylde audio Odin grail, guess what? They sound exactly the same.
Hell yes America 🇺🇸💪 🦅
Even though Vinnie Paul was against a Pantera reunion without Dime I think he would be proud Charlie Benante has done a remarkable job and they sound great Phil Anselmo zakk and of course Rex minus Dimes pick attack they sound like Pantera which I wasn't expecting losing the drummer and the guitar player and Phil Anselmo being away for so long really have to hand it to Charlie Benante without the drums they would sound like a different band he's nailed it if I didn't know better I would have thought it was Vinnie up there.
Rex fkn Brown 👊🏼
Bass line on this song is absolutely nasty, especially under the first solo. Killer song, I didn’t like it the first time I heard it and my only explanation must be that I smoked so much crack that I forgot
Godamn that was pretty good!! Peace from a very long time fan from EAST TEXAS!!
Rex killing it as ever! My favourite member from PanterA! Those Bass solos through The guitar solo is the real deal!
My band and I are used to playing in front of crowds this size.
Zakk is the absolute best person for this not only that but the right person
Beautiful
Rex,Charlie and Zakk kick Ass!!!🤘🤘🤘
Love this instrumental version - going to rip a mp3 for my car !
That was jaw dropping 🤘🏻
THank you guys! THanks Pantera! Thank Zakk, Charlie, Rex, Phill, DIME AND ViNNCE, god bless you all brothers!
Brothers? Only Brothers is dime and Vinnie. The rest are just squatters on the Pantera name.
@@cliffordclaussen2321 so sad
Is is just me or Rex and Zakk are in different seasons?
It evens out! One has a toque the other has a winter coat.. 🤷♂️
😢 Beautiful. 🤘🤘 Thank you guys for doing this tribute tour.
Killed it thanks fellas for doing this right
HAPPYBirthdayDOWNPanteraの伝説の偉大なヴォーカルフィル・アンセルモ🎉🎊🎂🎁✨🤘🤟
Undervalued song on a undervalued albumn that was ahead of its time.
This goes to show how Sabbath influenced genres are actually the same: you can call this song either grunge or doom according to what vocalist would sing it.
HAPPY BirthdayグルーヴメタルバンドPanteraのベーシストレックス・ブラウン🎉🎊🎁🎂✨🤟🤘😍
Its Awesome to see this!R.I.P DIME&VINN
LORDS UNMATCHED FOREVER ON AND ON AND FORWARD! I'm loving this. I really really am. All we got. Lucky
I saw them this time last year. I wish they had played Floods, hopefully they come back to Japan again
Wow a instrumental of floods
Woo pantera rules
I still remember the first sensation when I listened to this song for the first time in 1996!!
It would be cool if they went in and did and album together of new music. 🤘
Sure, just don’t call it Pantera
I rather not to be honest. Just let it be. Just start another band.
Yeah it would b cool but it’s like Van Halen with our Eddie
Call the new band
“TIGERA!”
Lol just a thought.,😂
The only way I could see new music would be if it were old material that the original 4 put together and was never recorded. I know vinnie and dime had an album worth of damage plan stuff that will never see the light of day.
357 customs epi bullseye will be here any day now,I am sure of it.
interesting how he kept the solo and outro as the original, not what Holt did with Jeff's solos
Caralho isso ficou fudidamente maravilhoso esses caras tem que vir logo pro Brasil, nunca vou me perdoar por não ver Floods ao vivo, a música da minha adolescência, olha esse solo tá fudido de perfeito.
This is huge premier guitar!! A true exclusive
Benante!!
