It's a true speedrun because the TASer made sure to equip the Iron Boots as Link was hitting the final blow. 10/10 would watch again.

Everyone always says TP early game is “slow” (or flat out boring) and I’m not saying anyone is wrong, but it’s something I’ve always really liked about the game. There’s just something really relaxing about playing through a little slice of life for a day in the life of the farm hand in this otherworldly forest village. I feel like it would be a really nice life to live and the escape from the real world is just…nice.
Hate to break it to you...there is always someone that will complain about most zelda games. Thing is enjoy yourself and have fun haha!!
I get where you’re coming from but most people just wanna play a Zelda game, not a slow slice of life fantasy story, we want a sword and a shield so we can fight things and solve dungeons🤷♂️

Funny thing is when you watch speed runs it seems soooooooo full of glitches being exploited all over the place, and 100% is still 6+ hours.

It is absolutely incredible what people can do for the projects they're passionate about. It took 4 YEARS to make this? That's my entire degree lol. Kudos to the team that made this.

He's called Zanto in German (and Xanto in French) because that is just one version to interpret the original Japanese name of ザント (Zanto). It's similar with Midna who is called Midona in French. The localisers will probably just choose whatever flows better in the respective language.

@@robloxzocken3061Ok zuerst wollt ich sagen, dass ich Zanto viel seltsamer finde aber nachden ich nachgedacht hab muss ich scho sagen, wenn man es wirklich mit einen Z und nicht einem S ausspricht klingts wirklich komisch. Ich mein Zanto ist nicht sehr viel besser aber ich hab eh einen allgemeinen grund grant gegen Deutsche Aussprache von japanischen Namen.

46:25 That was definitely one of the coolest things I've ever seen in a speedrun. Just pure, unadulterated, unapologetic swag.
I also had no idea you could use the bow on Ganon. The first time my brother got to him we spent forever trying to figure out how to open him up (not even thinking to use the wolf for quite a while) until finally noticing the action command for grabbing him. Hard to believe we never thought or tried just shooting the gem with the bow, seems very obvious, but we were just kids I guess.
You can also use the ball and chain to knock Ganon over :D
Became a better boss when I figured that out.
I love that Linkus managed to be confused, surprised and annoyed at the same time for nearly an hour XD

@@avasam06 they had to edit the 4 years of work on that perfect TAS
@@kaycee7738they replay back inputs that were done at frame by frame. It takes 4 years because you’re literally playing each input at at frame not including fuckups, repeats and whatever else.
The editing is literally just put a screen recorder on, put it into an editor, add whatever you want or nothing at all.

What I always find funny is how a tas will sometimes do things that doesn't look like precision but instead makes it look like the original game is just really broken, like how easy it seemed they were going through doors and gates.

It’s really interesting watching this stuff as a studying game designer, because all this sequence manipulation and the glitched etc gives an interesting glimpse into how Nintendo codes the game.

I just realized what that reminded me of. It's the same principle as Navi helping you dive beneath the well in OoT, but a lot more complicated.
I love watching speedruns of old games like this. Where a combination of precision controls and spaghetti code allows you to just abuse the hell out of everything.
With newer stuff people don't write as much spaghetti because they're not trying to save every possible byte of memory and processor cycle, so there's less to abuse.
All the boss fights are absolute bangers.

32:25 I remember doing a glitch in this game where I would take off the iron boots before landing and be able to walk around on the magnetic walls at normal speed without the iron boots. I guess it's not practical for the TAS for some reason, but it's definitely nice in a casual playthrough.
I don't speedrun yet but I'd like to. So I've watched a lot of stuff on speedrunning this. So I do notice a lot of stuff that a normal casual player wouldn't notice but there was still a lot I learned and didn't notice till linkus pointed it oit

17:07 I can tell you that this is called "Rupee dive", and that there are humans who do a very similar trick called "midna dive" on the wii version of the game to get into lakebed.

32:01 you can actually Clip through that Gate as Wolf Link if you stand in the perfect position. im very surprised this speedrun doesnt use that trick.
Isn’t there a glitch with walking on the magnetic parts with the iron boots where you can walk normally instead of with the slow iron boots? I think you do it by switching the iron boots item out midway through going up the magnetic pull

15:36 actually no, it's the flag getting reused. So instead of reading "oh you're in this boss state", it reads it as you having 22 monkeys (or something around that) which causes it to have the max

The "Back in Time Glitch", looks like to me, basically glitching the game into Newgame+ style of thing. You start off earlier in the game, but have so much equipment and stuff you wouldn't normally have at that point, because you took what title screen Link had on himself. Which is similar in results to that of a game that has Newgame+ with a Newgame+ save file. You start off with so much stuff you would not normally have at the start
