House Carl and Varin axes have been my most favorite weapons to use. I basically used them the entire game. I also love using the brigantine armor along with them so I'm basically a walking tank. (Varin axe gifts speed). The runes I put on the axes too that gift damage. I dont really use the bow a lot so nothing much going on with the bow.
Honestly with how low the crit chance is in Valhalla I have found crit builds to be pretty subpar. It's funny, but I actually find speed to be the best stat on non-daggers. Best way to do more damage is to swing a lot faster I think.
if you get the increase crit chance the lighter you are diamond rune, and wear the full mentor set, plus the spartan bow you will just drill through enemies
I pretty much used two “two-handed” swords for 85-90% of the game, I’m done with the storyline and collected Odin’s spear, Thor’s Hammer and Excalibur...... all three weapons are very powerful
So I set this build up years ago when the game had come out. I've put down video games for the last 2 years after having a kid. I just picked it back up, I don't remember how to play but I'm unstoppable. What an amazing build.

Spears are the best. I've been using daggers lately to try and switch up things but the lose of range is annoying now. I wish your own fire wouldn't burn you bc the poison cloud is annoying. Honestly.. I wish they would get rid of the fire and poison.
From AC Odyssey I can confirm that stacking unique bonuses does not work. You can only use every unique bonus affix once per build. So I assume the devs went the same way with Valhalla.
A quite solid build indeed. The only thing I would eventually modify here is to change certain heath runes in armor slots, and change them with some sweet sweet + attack runes. But after this build, the only thing we need is that “change appearance” option from Ubisoft, and of course New Game + Keep up the good work Tag!👍❤️

I already tried this build but was annoyed with the insanely short range daggers have in this game. Most of the time, I stab the air in front of the enemy. Dodging takes you way outside the dagger range and you have to walk back into the range to do some damage which was frustrating for me.
I think the major problem with daggers is the attacks are static...the character doesn't move or step forward when he stabs...with every other weapon the character closes distance and moves forward with every strike so even if ya miss with the first swing the second one will probably hit. Daggers have this awkward requirement where you have to stop attacking and manually adjust the characters position...I.E constantly move forward and towards the enemy if you want to be aggressive and offensive. I'd suggest that if ya want to use daggers then you've got be patient and wait for the enemy to make the first move and come to you...which means lots of blocking and parrying followed by counters.
@@Shamelesscritique1 yeah and thats the reason it doesn't fit. If you're using daggers you're not looking for patient and slow combat. You want to stab quickly & repeatedly and have a fluid combat.
The way of the raven/wolf/bear also affect weapons so the skills in the tree dedicated to a particular weapon aren’t as good as the “way of the blank” nodes.

OH Skadis blade(1.7speed 8crit dmg) and MH odins spear(4atk 8crit dmg) special attack is the most op ive been able to build paired with that blue crit dmg set from the store. And shadow strike(bow) and increase atk, spd at full hp and restore hp on crit, as the special runes
Combine this with curative guard rune (or Briton light shield) and gives health on parry and you almost never have to use rations These two runes on dual spears are almost god mode - longest reach and speed almost as fast as dual daggers and 3rd light attack is aoe...
You are on the right track ,but stacking speed will get you WAY further dps wise. Crit stacking in this game sucks really bad. Even at 400 with 90 mastery it isn't worth it.
Exactly, a man of knowledge here. Crit builds do suck in this game, you'd have to get upwards of 250 crit chance just to be viable. All the crit build videos I see they are hardly critting in fights. Far better to just go for speed, damage, crit/parry healing, and maybe fire/poison damage or build up. That said, I think weapons have a speed cap. Try as I could with different diamond rune combos I couldn't get my 56 speed hammer to go above 70 speed.
Normal runes stack but only up to three, after that it is severely diminishing return, like forth fifth etc. they give you less and less then what number on the rune is.
14 Great rune of life in armour give 100 health instead of 264. 14 great warrior rune in armour it gives 20 melee damage instead of 25. The more of same rune you put in armour or weapon it gives less and less then the number on them. It is called diminishing return, it is not uncommon in rpg games. Rune are not balanced in this game the bonus it to small.
What’s the best armor to use for dual hammers? I really enjoy it! Right now I got 2 mentor and 3 theigns with blacksmith hammer and war hammer. I know Crits let me stomp but didn’t know if there was better gear for my setup?
Great runes come just from being a higher power. Diamond runes, best way to get them is from either merchant or Order save reloading. Like for zealots, down them, save, confirm kill, reload, confirm, reload, and repeat that until you get the diamond you want.

Did you notice that the bonus from the mentors set does not kick in above the health bar when doing a critical hit? Seems like it only kicks in with the full set.
I don’t really use builds, I just use one op as item with something that idk how I got that I basically take no damage and if I do I just heal it back, and if I get hit a ball would apesr and do stun damage to enemies around me

So the Diamond Runes don't stack, but do they stack with weapon abilities? For instance: Housecarl's Axe (+ATK per hit x10) stacking with Chained Fury Rune (+ATK per hit x10). Or even Venom Momentum Rune with Vordr's Bite. Do they increase the chance to spawn poison cloud by stacking? It's not well explained in game lol
Another op skill is the double shot with the hunter bows, get a critical with it and ive done over 2100 damage with 1 “shot”. This skill ruined many boss fights for me though because I would accidentally 1 hit them, so it does take away a bit from the game.
Dont know if it's a bug but at least for me I can not get 2 armor set bonuses from separate sets to activate. Only einherjar activates in the scenario of your video... also when I use mentor set it only ever gives me plus 15 attack with full stacks not 20. I think there is a major rune/buff stacking issue. This build is in theory the highest attack build you can make but it doesnt actually work due to only one of the armor sets activating.
Every goddamn build video, in every goddamn game these days is predicated upon you either being in end game or NG+. God bless that the 0.1% of people making build videos that you can use in an entire playthrough. You know, for that continuity thing.
The build matters little as by the end you can pretty much do it all. I don't feel like there are builds in this game. Every weapon has certain skills/runes/nodes/abilities that make it op. So really up to your playstyle

Why he does it i dont know but if it helps answer your question, i use the housecarl in my main hand because it increases damage on each hit while the Varin increases speed on hit so when i do the left handed mash attack its really fast. But when I’m just doing regular attacks with the housecarl, it is only increasing damage. I hope that helped in some way

I do like your build but I feel like it doesn't do a lot of damage and you get hit a lot I mostly use the poison hammer with the whole Armor this game is Awesome.
when it comes to kpis vs its perk i went with a different weapon but its perk as i do love to parry and it simply pushes enemy out of dagger´s range so have to take extra steps towards target
@@hughjass1260 varies.depending what 2/5 perk i have a mod to apply alongside thegn´s 2/5,sepulcher axe with kopis perk+bloodshield with sacrophagus shield´s perk,mournful cry hammer with kopis+medusa shield with morrigan guard shield´s perk or lagertha´s axe with kopis perk+battlesparth+fafnir fang´s perk.but if you ask about daggers-yule dagger with kopis perk+surturgr´s (from one of the hiden ones bureus) with fafnir fang´s perk...and for the bow either spartan bow with viper bow perk or viper bow itself with lagertha´s axe perk...been lucky in most cases and got the perk runes of weapons i was theoretising to get into my builds.only runes i had to do rerolls on merchants for was for varin´s axe and housecarl´s axe runes to be slotted into yule and kopis daggers,when going a variation of the dagger build mentioned above (in both weapon-perk combo variants im going 50/50 thegn+mentor´s)
hey tagbackTV! amazing videos! because of you I'm playing a build with the fafnirs fang spear, lagerthas axe, 2 piece mentor and 2 piece thegn armor now and its absolutely awesome! I have one problem tho! the 2 piece mentor set bonus seems to never trigger! or at least I can't see the set bonus icon in my buff bar when I fight! is it bugged? and how do I know if I ever get the attack bonus from the set bonus? even when I crit in a fight, the icon never appears! I can see the thegn armor crit buff after a perfect block, and the buffs of both weapons when im surrounded by at least 3 enemies and even the vipers bow buff when I attack but the mentor set bonus icon is never seen! do you know what seems to be the problem there?

Question ive been playing for a while like I dont even know how long..but I can't find gold ingots..like I only got 4 main areas to complete main story wise but still no gold ingots. When do I start finding them
I assume you're referring to tungsten ingots. You'll find them in high level areas (power level 220-340) in chests with the ingot sign or carried by those groups of guards patrolling in those areas (you can see a small gold dot on them with Synin)
Can you do a video on the best way toa quite materials fast? I'm always out of leather and iron. I buy 200 of each from the store but that has a cooldown
I recommend getting the isu bow and sword that actually aren’t too hard to get but to get the bow you need Excalibur and you have to kill 3 different zealots to get it but tbh they aren’t hard to kill you could just find a way to kill them at a low lvl too by finding a vid on YT but again isu sword and bow I use them plus Excalibur and even though the armor he shows us is good I think the thegn set and Thor armor set are better plus you can just use two pieces of each me personally I prefer the thegn set

Im just gonna stick to hammers, the stun damage is just too good. Especially once you get thors hammer, the game almost feels unfair you kill everything with ease even bosses
Any weapon/rune that has "increase crit chance" are close to useless, in this game, because the bonus is small. Valhalla isn't like Odyssey, where everything is straight forward. In Valhalla, in order to reach 100% crit chance, you'll need to have a stat of 400 (L3). And that you'll reach when you'll be max level (535). Also, the crit chance/crit damage isn't per hero, but per weapon. Each weapon has a different crit value.
Critical chance runes are not worth it. 100 critical chance means 25% So 3.3 the max critical chance rune stands for 0.825% of increase of your critical chance put 6(the max) on your weapons and you get 4.95% more critical chance. 😉
I need help I’m stuck in the story after saving your brother no new mission popped up in the quest log and I only have the ones were I need settlement lvl 6 and find and kill all of the order of ancient members but don’t have enough raw Materials even after doing all the raids. And I need one last clue to know who the father is but it says progress in the story to find out but I only have those two missions in my quest log
this is great and all, but I would like to just be able to finish the damn game. I have the bug where the suthsexe quest with Basim wont load. Tried everything. Ubisoft needs to fix this glitched mess already. I'm pretty pissed!

Youve gotta pick it up and youll burn it in a cut scene. But the mission is time sensitive so you cant wait to do it. As soon as you get the mission go straight there and burn it. I learned that the hard way

Plus the absolute best ability in the game: Kick of Tyr. Dual Seax allows you to double stomp.

Ive kept the two small axes all the way through the game because the larger weapons look absolutely ridiculous

Hey another good way for the healing factor is to combine the Briton shield with the kopis. Shield gives health on parry

Galloglach armor is actually very good too since you get a ton of finishers with daggers. Plus it actually looks good unlike most of the armors lol

Running Lagerthas axe and battle sparth with full brigandine armor. Absolute tank
I think Einherjar is the best set in the game so far. Not to mention u can add major runes on every piece of it and it has great stats.
But for bosses is kinda meh...

Mad op. You can be level 180 and beat 250 lost drengr and 220 zealots. It's crazy broken.
Whats the best way to get runes? I'm power 188 and only come across 1 high power rune. Also don't have many good ones of the lower runes either.
Order members and areas 190 and up.
Check the stores every so often and open gold chests. I'm lvl 400+ so I get great runes and diamond runes all the time in there.

I’m still on my daggers too. They are too good. I have the healing rune so I’m not crazy to get the dagger. But it would be nice
Update got the dagger and have one rune of the same and the other heals off weak point hits on my bow. Im healing no matter what I use

I use Mentors set, viper bow, Fafnirs Fang, and Gunir. Loving the range on spears.
Swap the Viper bow with the Spartan bow from the Ubisoft club. Same crit chance bonus but all you have to do is dodge to get it.

So the Diamond Runes don't stack, but do they stack with weapon abilities?
For instance: Housecarl's Axe (+ATK per hit x10) stacking with Chained Fury Rune (+ATK per hit x10). Or even Venom Momentum Rune with Vordr's Bite. Do they increase the chance to spawn poison cloud by stacking? It's not well explained in game lol
Another op skill is the double shot with the hunter bows, get a critical with it and ive done over 2100 damage with 1 “shot”. This skill ruined many boss fights for me though because I would accidentally 1 hit them, so it does take away a bit from the game.
Which difficulty though?

Dont know if it's a bug but at least for me I can not get 2 armor set bonuses from separate sets to activate. Only einherjar activates in the scenario of your video... also when I use mentor set it only ever gives me plus 15 attack with full stacks not 20. I think there is a major rune/buff stacking issue. This build is in theory the highest attack build you can make but it doesnt actually work due to only one of the armor sets activating.
Every goddamn build video, in every goddamn game these days is predicated upon you either being in end game or NG+. God bless that the 0.1% of people making build videos that you can use in an entire playthrough. You know, for that continuity thing.
The build matters little as by the end you can pretty much do it all. I don't feel like there are builds in this game.
Every weapon has certain skills/runes/nodes/abilities that make it op. So really up to your playstyle

Is there a particular reason you use the Housecarl in main hand and Varin in off hand?
Why he does it i dont know but if it helps answer your question, i use the housecarl in my main hand because it increases damage on each hit while the Varin increases speed on hit so when i do the left handed mash attack its really fast. But when I’m just doing regular attacks with the housecarl, it is only increasing damage. I hope that helped in some way

I do like your build but I feel like it doesn't do a lot of damage and you get hit a lot I mostly use the poison hammer with the whole Armor this game is Awesome.

when it comes to kpis vs its perk i went with a different weapon but its perk as i do love to parry and it simply pushes enemy out of dagger´s range so have to take extra steps towards target
@@hughjass1260 varies.depending what 2/5 perk i have a mod to apply alongside thegn´s 2/5,sepulcher axe with kopis perk+bloodshield with sacrophagus shield´s perk,mournful cry hammer with kopis+medusa shield with morrigan guard shield´s perk or lagertha´s axe with kopis perk+battlesparth+fafnir fang´s perk.but if you ask about daggers-yule dagger with kopis perk+surturgr´s (from one of the hiden ones bureus) with fafnir fang´s perk...and for the bow either spartan bow with viper bow perk or viper bow itself with lagertha´s axe perk...been lucky in most cases and got the perk runes of weapons i was theoretising to get into my builds.only runes i had to do rerolls on merchants for was for varin´s axe and housecarl´s axe runes to be slotted into yule and kopis daggers,when going a variation of the dagger build mentioned above (in both weapon-perk combo variants im going 50/50 thegn+mentor´s)
hey tagbackTV! amazing videos! because of you I'm playing a build with the fafnirs fang spear, lagerthas axe, 2 piece mentor and 2 piece thegn armor now and its absolutely awesome! I have one problem tho! the 2 piece mentor set bonus seems to never trigger! or at least I can't see the set bonus icon in my buff bar when I fight! is it bugged? and how do I know if I ever get the attack bonus from the set bonus? even when I crit in a fight, the icon never appears! I can see the thegn armor crit buff after a perfect block, and the buffs of both weapons when im surrounded by at least 3 enemies and even the vipers bow buff when I attack but the mentor set bonus icon is never seen! do you know what seems to be the problem there?

Question ive been playing for a while like I dont even know how long..but I can't find gold ingots..like I only got 4 main areas to complete main story wise but still no gold ingots. When do I start finding them
I assume you're referring to tungsten ingots. You'll find them in high level areas (power level 220-340) in chests with the ingot sign or carried by those groups of guards patrolling in those areas (you can see a small gold dot on them with Synin)

Its everywhere in the world when your out and about doing missions just pick some up as you go
Hunt little yellow dots everywhere also your shop resets after each quest
Gathering the small yellow dot chests on the map is probably the fastest way, not counting buying a materials pack from the store that is.

I use brigandine armour with gungnir and fafnirs fang I a really good build I recommend it to anyone that sees this comment
I recommend getting the isu bow and sword that actually aren’t too hard to get but to get the bow you need Excalibur and you have to kill 3 different zealots to get it but tbh they aren’t hard to kill you could just find a way to kill them at a low lvl too by finding a vid on YT but again isu sword and bow I use them plus Excalibur and even though the armor he shows us is good I think the thegn set and Thor armor set are better plus you can just use two pieces of each me personally I prefer the thegn set
Can you do a similar build with hammers? I think I’ve seen there’s a hammer which gives off poison to enemies when hit.... also how do you farm so much iron ore!!

Im just gonna stick to hammers, the stun damage is just too good. Especially once you get thors hammer, the game almost feels unfair you kill everything with ease even bosses
Mentor set + spear and fire is really insane u kill much faster with this combo
I didn't get along with hammers well. After dual daggers everything feels slow and weak. Dual spears are op as well lol

Any weapon/rune that has "increase crit chance" are close to useless, in this game, because the bonus is small. Valhalla isn't like Odyssey, where everything is straight forward. In Valhalla, in order to reach 100% crit chance, you'll need to have a stat of 400 (L3). And that you'll reach when you'll be max level (535). Also, the crit chance/crit damage isn't per hero, but per weapon. Each weapon has a different crit value.

Critical chance runes are not worth it.
100 critical chance means 25%
So 3.3 the max critical chance rune stands for 0.825% of increase of your critical chance put 6(the max) on your weapons and you get 4.95% more critical chance. 😉
How do you do poison damage tho? Are you using the adrenaline skill or rune?

I need help I’m stuck in the story after saving your brother no new mission popped up in the quest log and I only have the ones were I need settlement lvl 6 and find and kill all of the order of ancient members but don’t have enough raw Materials even after doing all the raids. And I need one last clue to know who the father is but it says progress in the story to find out but I only have those two missions in my quest log
A mission for Hytham to get the las clue and to find the last of the raw materials you’ll have to search chests in populated areas for it
If you can suggest this to the person in charge would love to see more hairstyles and beards

this is great and all, but I would like to just be able to finish the damn game. I have the bug where the suthsexe quest with Basim wont load. Tried everything. Ubisoft needs to fix this glitched mess already. I'm pretty pissed!

If it doesnt I'm not starting over and I'm selling my copy of the game entirely. Ill never play another Ubisoft game let alone an AC game ever again if I have to start over in ACV

to begin with i asked, because this game is so glitchy that you can ironically glitch around some of the progress stopping bugs. lol
had a case where i had to find NPC A and NPC B had to tell me where to look. the fucker was just cowering in bushes not responding. looked up on internet where the conversation with him had to happen, went there, and magically he teleported there and cutscene was triggered. fucking el oh el

Youve gotta pick it up and youll burn it in a cut scene. But the mission is time sensitive so you cant wait to do it. As soon as you get the mission go straight there and burn it. I learned that the hard way
