Actually you can get to the cave in Kjotve's fortress although it tells you, that the are is unavailable. I just walked right in before I raided the fort and grab that book. Game did not desyncronized.
One can get all of those abilities as soon as you have the long-boat available, leaving Avaldsnes, no need to progress into the story. In fact there is a hidden conversation between Eivor and Dag, when returning to the long-boat, after exploring a reasonable portion of the isle where the fort of Nottfall and the town of Stavanger is. (But it has to be done before reaching Fornburg for the 1st time.)
rage of helheim is not a prompt , the screen just shows you what you are pressing ( if you press rb it will show attack rb ) , so you literally just have to spam lb , rb , lb , rb .. i dont know why they made it like that , its confusing

i was collecting things before leaving Norway and heading to England the kings guard stop me and say i have a bounty and the adoptive father says he will pay the bounty is this a bad thing im think of starting over
I just got my copy of the game and the " family matters" quest is bugged. It won't give me the quest marker and won't let me talk to the seer for ''a seer's solace".
Idk about family matters but seers solace is a known bug. Apparently if you played the game BEFORE installing the day one patch the quest is bugged. I'm not sure if it's been fixed yet but if not it should be in the next patch. If the quest is broken and you installed the day one patch before playing then I'd send a ticket in to Ubisoft
My game said the area wasnt available as well but I could still pick up the book and leave. I'm already done the game and in power level 460 now though lol
So I got there before I ever went "home" for the first time. Soon as they let me free roam before returning home I explored every part of the map that the game let me. So I was level 15 before going home and had that ability. Maybe they changed it idk
I underestimated how much was actually in Norway, I will definitely be taking my sweet time on my second play through! Edit: I just saw the end of the vid 👍🏻

Nah man. That’s a serious waste of time especially since the best thing from Norway is the“Gungnir” mythical spear and it’s not something you can get from the get go unless you use a glitch. I personally left when the opportunity presented itself and went for the Thegn’s armors and upgraded them all to gold (mythical). Then I found the best weapons to go with it. 1 weapon is fully upgraded. As soon as I get my other weapon fully upgraded (almost there), THEN i will travel back to Norway and farm everything there.

I got that bow and its the same name but its not a Sniper Bow. It does more damage when at full health. Still pretty good.
