Yea, I uncovered the whole Norway Map, did everything I could do, reached power level 20 something I believe, close to thirty, can't do nothing in the upper region, and only now I'm leaving Norway, like, 12 hours into the game or so

@@well_as_an_expert_id_say it means that you can change the look of an item (like make a berserker gear set look like an assasin outfit) without changing the stats. Or changing the look of the isu spear to a regular one but it still acts as the isu spear but looks different.

Same here, this combo or axe/dagger seems most OP for single target by far, the 2 handed weapons are just extremely slow for me to use effectively. Shield in offhand is kinda useless since you lose so much dps
I liked the loot system of odyssey and also the fact that you could change your gear's appearance. I know they tried to make the gear feel more reliable and unique but what it feels like is restrictive and limited. Also why in the seven hells are there no one handed swords in a game set in 9th century england!?
I agree. It feels very restrictive and simplistic with only a few choices of weapons and gear. In odyssey it was wayyy too much. But in valhalla they went overboard with the ”unique gear”. In my 30h so far, i have found ONE hammer, ONE. And barely ANY armor besides the one u start with. And i feel honestly no uniqueness in the weapons (if they are same weapon) and gear. The thing i liked about odyssey was all the types of cool armors. There were a lot of useless shit there too but a lot of cool ones. In valhalla its just repeat repeat repeat (raid, pledge map, story, gear etc).
Excalibur primary with the spear as secondary. Its nuts. The left trigger attack breaks shields throws enemies on the ground then you wail away with excalibur finally stomping them right before they get up
I like using a hammer from one of your videos with varins axe so the heavy attack from the hammer knocks them down then hold left bumper to get them weak and then stomp to finish them.
I've been using the 2 handed axe. Im a power of 75 right now. Forgot the name of the axe but its gold looking and can catch on fire and with a skill in the bear tree, you can burn enemies that are dead and it will burn others around. Making a "fire build" is the route im going. Great video👍
I am using Varin’s Axe, Hunnish Bow, Raven Clan Shield, and the Raven Clan Armor Set. Have just been upgrading it a ton and it still works 20 hours in. I think this is probably what Eivor would actually use as well.
@@tacituskilgore8023 Really the weapons I mention are some of the best I have found. The Raven shield buff light damage by +10 for 5 seconds after blocking. That is as good or better than my other 5 or so shields. I might switch from the Varin Axe to the Huscarl Axe since it buffs damage instead of speed but that is minor difference.
Liking the game except that it has the same 1 killing finisher for each weapon and the weapons get oversized massively when you draw them. Also there's no primary weapon finishers??? I thought this game had finishers ? I'm 30 hrs in and i have yet to see different finishers or primary finishers... dumbass decisions again by ubisucks
Yep, many mistakes have carried over from odyssey to valhalla. Only difference is they have added good elements. They shouldve worked on the fundamental problems. Dialogue, animations, AI, for example... Maybe after this trilogy they will. If not, I am certain that AC will never come close to its old days again. The graphics might be next gen, but anything else is more like 3rd gen.

This new "know your shit to git gud" philosophy works better for most of us who don't rely on others to hold our hands to make a game easy or depend on 1HK's to get through a game... In simple, the new style is more for those who are not Timmy no-thumbs who can't walk and chew gum at the same time... (Maybe you, since you prefer the old style, but hey, at least we know and the more you know ¯_ (ツ)_/¯)
I’m excited to do a Hunter build with the set that gives increased speed as you lose health then use a spear primary and a one handed axe on the off hand and use the spear to knock them down and for crowd control then rush in with the left hand attack (with the armour set allowing me to have a bit more speed balancing the two handed weapon in my right hand)

Lol varin & housecarl is literally what I’ve been running the entire time almost.. it’s soooo good!!! I do a few light hits and then go in for the heavy attacks and they cannot stand it
2:10 best combo imo, even in real life, the spear + shield combo was pretty flawless. was used for thousands of years and a great weapon combo in the battlefield and in formations. spear has long range so can hit from further away and shield allows closing in if need be and protects from projectiles like arrows. spears are not fantastic in close quarters, but the use of the shield negates this abit.
It's a great combo in certain situations. When fighting one on one, a experienced fighter with a sword can parry and close the distance enough that a spear is rendered ineffective. But in a war, it's better to put a spear on a farmers hand than a sword for sure.
The weapons were better in Origins and Odyssey. And I miss being able to sell weapons. Now we're forced to carry the same crap with us from start to finish.
I'm glad I don't have to worry about having a certain amount I can carry so I need to go to a market every 30 minutes to sell or scrap all the useless crap I pick up.
@@MrJammyGel Yeah, but in previous games, unequipped shit added to the weight as well. You're still carrying around all your shit, even though you only have a limited number of things on your person. Game logic...
The 3 best weapons I've seen so far are Fyrd Spear, Hrafn Guard (light shield), and Spartan Bow (light bow from Ubisoft Connect)... the synergy between them is ridiculous. Hrafn Guard increases speed when block/parry (stacks to 5, lasts like 20-30 seconds), Fyrd Spear increase speed +10 when dodge, and Spartan Bow increase crit chance by +30 when dodge (+ frigging 30!!). Dodge parry block and you'll be attacking stupidly fast and critting more.
Dopplehander + Draugr armor would most likely be OP. I have the armor now I just need the weapon but been playing for three days and just now getting ready to go to England.
@@goatsofeternity1313 Well there are many factors tht come into play to determine the validity and whether or not double damage being dealt remains true. I'd wager the vast majority of combat systems in the wide array of rps, and whatnot, reduce an items dmg output when wielded in the off hand, therefore dampening potential dmg per second capacity. Some I've played also reduce crit chance and crit dmg all the while slowing actual weapon swing speed in the process. I may be wrong but just thought I'd drop in and contribute
@@ils5956 thanks for the addition mate, I agree instances in this game have example of what you're saying especially with certain combinations of weapons. However with two spears( works also for 2 heavy swords) you have twice as many hits within the same damage range
Pair this with a shield and you’re unstoppable. I try to play assassin as much as possible but way near the end of the skill tree I ended up at the best skill for dual wield heavy.
Eivor might have the most power of any assassin's creed protagonists yet, both in physical strength and arsonal (at least 3 Isu weapons), only lacking a second hidden blade and other gadgets, well i mean and he does not use guns
There's a spear that increases your critical hit chance for 10 seconds whenever there are 2 enemies close to you, more if there are 3 enemies close to you. If you're doing a dual wield 2 hander brawler build it's insanely strong!
Wow, those are the 2 axes I used for awhile. Now it's Raider Axe and Housecarl's Axe... Raider increase Heavy damage after every light attack 3 sec maxes out +35.0 Heavy damage, resets after Heavy attack. Got it before I left Norway in the intro.. (light, light, heavy) Keep that up, every major enemy will fall as both axes feed off each other. GG
My preferred combo is Mjolnir in my main-hand with Varin's Axe in my off-hand. The combination of stun and speed buff is just so insane. I tried other weapons, but they all seem so slow when I don't have Varin's axe equipped.
The blacksmith hammer is underrated. It knocks down all enemies when you get a crit, and if you have the stomp skill unlocked you just stomp people to death.
Try dual-wielding hammers (it's like the Q attack with one hammer, but with two; you alternate the hits so it's double the speed as well). Holding the Q attack will knock pretty much everyone within range, on their ass and you'll kill 'em before running out of stamina. It's so insanely satisfying :) I've tried all weapon types, but hammers are the ones I stick to. It's so much fun and satisfying as hell.
When does the back half of Hordafylke in Norway even open up? I'm just now in England about to do the first part of the Sons of Ragnarr quest in Repton.
Need to find all the Hidden Ones armor pieces. I like the attention given to Bayek, Aya, Kassandra and Desmond most of all, can't wait to see how the full outfit looks and if there's a complimentary weapon.
My only complaints with this game is the raid music is not loud and intense enough, also that we can’t customize our jomsviking. Otherwise, this game is the best since Black Flag and I’m super impressed and a dream come true. Always wanted a AC Viking game.
Can you Jor or someone who is in contact with Ubi write to them? There is bug for ps4 version in mission 2 Seer solace. You cant continue Bcoz the mission doesnt appear, this problem has multiple people...I am stuck for 2 days in the beginning of the game and Ubisoft is ignoring my e-mail for support, please...

I’ve been dual wielding 2 great swords, I use them in light to heavy attacks to get adrenaline than use the Valkyrie Jump thing and than rotate back into stomp/light/heavy attacks
I've been rocking that 2h sword in the main hand with another 2h sword in offhand and it's actually disgustingly good. U attack with both through the light attack and it's super fast with doppler in main hand. Pairing it with the slow time on dodge and a poison blade ability and I never need to parry and I melt everything
Question, i have Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, GTX 1660 Ghost 6gb, 16gb ram, this game should run perfectly on monitor that highest resolution is 1920x1080, but i have lag, especially during visiting crowded areas, now can this be because in main menu it says that i am running unsuported driver?
ESO was right about the bug about when pulling gunit out and your trapped there they fixed that but you can still pull it don’t worry before the fig he s when following Sigurd you’ll leave there with no problems after pulling it out
I mean the BEST weapon (combo) is dual daggers (seax in main hand), it actually DOES double (or nearly double) your damage, unlike the spear dual wield (and doesn't require a perk to dual wield) because your light attack with your main hand maintains its normal speed, but in-between each main hand attack you jab with the left dagger as well, you also get a damage boost from dodging, the stamina cost of which is offset by the fact that light hits restore stamina, so you literally just dodge behind people and kill them faster than any other weapon or combination of weapons I have tinkered with. I guess the downside is the range, which takes some getting used to, you'll probably get frustrated with how often you dodge only to end up out of reach of the enemy and unable to hit them, but once I got used to it, no other weapons even come close to the sheer damage output. Best part is it works just as well with the Raven set as the Hunter set, because the increased crit chance from raven set is nuts on such fast weapons, but despite being so fast, the increased speed from the hunter set is still quite noticeable, and both sets are acquired very early on (raven being your starting set) so you don't have to farm literally anything.

Yep I put in 2 hours a night for 3 days before I left Norway. I really felt compelled to get revenge with Eivor. Turning out to be a great story.

Using that with a second 2h axe dual wield, it’s amazing just staggers bosses well, some of them.

Get a ton of silver in wensum River North of northwic. Kill fish with a spear, I made thousands of silver in minutes.

The trick for most of these is to put your skill points in advanced assassination. I also have the mentors and hidden ones set to help with this

Two handed sword in main and two handed Axe in second, It's called a meat grinder, most effective against crowds, main weakness - Spearmen

There’s also a shield called “the morrigans guard” and it has its own sound effect, and it’s ability is chance of poison cloud on parry

I'm glad I don't have to worry about having a certain amount I can carry so I need to go to a market every 30 minutes to sell or scrap all the useless crap I pick up.

The 3 best weapons I've seen so far are Fyrd Spear, Hrafn Guard (light shield), and Spartan Bow (light bow from Ubisoft Connect)... the synergy between them is ridiculous. Hrafn Guard increases speed when block/parry (stacks to 5, lasts like 20-30 seconds), Fyrd Spear increase speed +10 when dodge, and Spartan Bow increase crit chance by +30 when dodge (+ frigging 30!!). Dodge parry block and you'll be attacking stupidly fast and critting more.

@@goatsofeternity1313 Well there are many factors tht come into play to determine the validity and whether or not double damage being dealt remains true. I'd wager the vast majority of combat systems in the wide array of rps, and whatnot, reduce an items dmg output when wielded in the off hand, therefore dampening potential dmg per second capacity. Some I've played also reduce crit chance and crit dmg all the while slowing actual weapon swing speed in the process. I may be wrong but just thought I'd drop in and contribute
@@ils5956 thanks for the addition mate, I agree instances in this game have example of what you're saying especially with certain combinations of weapons. However with two spears( works also for 2 heavy swords) you have twice as many hits within the same damage range

Pair this with a shield and you’re unstoppable. I try to play assassin as much as possible but way near the end of the skill tree I ended up at the best skill for dual wield heavy.
Eivor might have the most power of any assassin's creed protagonists yet, both in physical strength and arsonal (at least 3 Isu weapons), only lacking a second hidden blade and other gadgets, well i mean and he does not use guns
There's a spear that increases your critical hit chance for 10 seconds whenever there are 2 enemies close to you, more if there are 3 enemies close to you. If you're doing a dual wield 2 hander brawler build it's insanely strong!
Wow, those are the 2 axes I used for awhile. Now it's Raider Axe and Housecarl's Axe... Raider increase Heavy damage after every light attack 3 sec maxes out +35.0 Heavy damage, resets after Heavy attack. Got it before I left Norway in the intro.. (light, light, heavy) Keep that up, every major enemy will fall as both axes feed off each other. GG
Weapon combo I use it the Sword that indicts poison, with the Axe that lights on fire. It’s pretty fun.

Can I fully upgrade all gear items in the game or the iron ingots and such recourses are limited?
My preferred combo is Mjolnir in my main-hand with Varin's Axe in my off-hand. The combination of stun and speed buff is just so insane. I tried other weapons, but they all seem so slow when I don't have Varin's axe equipped.

The blacksmith hammer is underrated. It knocks down all enemies when you get a crit, and if you have the stomp skill unlocked you just stomp people to death.
Try dual-wielding hammers (it's like the Q attack with one hammer, but with two; you alternate the hits so it's double the speed as well).
Holding the Q attack will knock pretty much everyone within range, on their ass and you'll kill 'em before running out of stamina.
It's so insanely satisfying :)
I've tried all weapon types, but hammers are the ones I stick to. It's so much fun and satisfying as hell.

one of my favorite combos is Doppelhander in the right hand and Briton shield in the left it looks badass and is very effective
My only complaints with this game is the raid music is not loud and intense enough, also that we can’t customize our jomsviking.
Otherwise, this game is the best since Black Flag and I’m super impressed and a dream come true. Always wanted a AC Viking game.

I’ve been dual wielding 2 great swords, I use them in light to heavy attacks to get adrenaline than use the Valkyrie Jump thing and than rotate back into stomp/light/heavy attacks

I equipped both axes and the only thing it does is just try to block with the left handed one... does it require an ability to attack with both?
You can only attack with both if its the same weapon type ie. 2 axes

If you use two daggers you attack insanely fast and when upgraded they do very good damage I can't find a good enough reason to stop using them

I've been rocking that 2h sword in the main hand with another 2h sword in offhand and it's actually disgustingly good. U attack with both through the light attack and it's super fast with doppler in main hand. Pairing it with the slow time on dodge and a poison blade ability and I never need to parry and I melt everything

ESO was right about the bug about when pulling gunit out and your trapped there they fixed that but you can still pull it don’t worry before the fig he s when following Sigurd you’ll leave there with no problems after pulling it out
I mean the BEST weapon (combo) is dual daggers (seax in main hand), it actually DOES double (or nearly double) your damage, unlike the spear dual wield (and doesn't require a perk to dual wield) because your light attack with your main hand maintains its normal speed, but in-between each main hand attack you jab with the left dagger as well, you also get a damage boost from dodging, the stamina cost of which is offset by the fact that light hits restore stamina, so you literally just dodge behind people and kill them faster than any other weapon or combination of weapons I have tinkered with.
I guess the downside is the range, which takes some getting used to, you'll probably get frustrated with how often you dodge only to end up out of reach of the enemy and unable to hit them, but once I got used to it, no other weapons even come close to the sheer damage output. Best part is it works just as well with the Raven set as the Hunter set, because the increased crit chance from raven set is nuts on such fast weapons, but despite being so fast, the increased speed from the hunter set is still quite noticeable, and both sets are acquired very early on (raven being your starting set) so you don't have to farm literally anything.
