@@PragmaticDany well yeah obviously, but nobody ever asked for them to be removed and you see how that went. So bringing it up deliberately may not be the best idea lol
I get mildly infuriated when people say "ooh! 4 cameras are better than 1!!" Like c'mon guys! I'd anyday have a 12 megapixel camera that has a better sensor rather than having having 69 (lol) Megapixel of crappy sensor!!
I love the guaranteed 3 year of updates on Pixel. But I hate AMOLED displays because I play a lot of games with static UI elements and burn-in is still a thing. A high refresh rate IPS is great for gaming. Combined with OxygenOS vs stock Android, I'd lean in the direction of the OnePlus. I don't keep phones long enough to really take advantage of the update policy, but I do wish the OnePlus would get OxygenOS 12. Either way, I went OnePlus.
I honestly preferred all of the pictures from the Nord over the pixel. Also I use ultra wide far too much to get a phone without it now. I think these phones strictly come down to preference
I just bought the N10 5G, and now I'm kinda worried because all these reviews are making me wonder if I'm going to like it. I've never had a high-end phone. My last one was a Nokia windows phone, so I hope that isn't going to be the case, but now I just don't know.
It's a nice phone other than reviewers kind of bashing it more giving it more cons than pros but I haven't ran into any problems runs smoothly plenty bright and fast does what it need stop do plus more
For the country where I live (which happens to be where the country where reviewer lives as per his garbage cans) It's a $100 difference between the 4a normal or a $300 difference between the 4a 5g. If you were looking for a budget 5g phone this is one of the best bang for your buck phones you can go for. If you wanted just the normal 4a the $100 is worth it but if you really wanted a cheap 5g phone this generation then it's hard to argue over $300 IMO. The difference between the picture and video quality is definitely noticeable comparing to pixel and flagship phones but I don't really take pictures/videos all to often. If i'm watching youtube or something on my phone I don't need the best quality. I'm already likely streaming it at either 720/480p to save data costs (which is what I assume people who are buying budget phones are doing as well). If I'm watching netflix i'm either on my computer or my tv. That's the reason why I'm still happy with my N10 5G purchase. Personally I wish I could of waited another year or when more budget 5g phones were on the market and the tech improved or became cheaper but circumstances made me have to buy a phone late last year. So don't be anxious! I plan to stick with the N10 for 3-5ish years depending on the budget 5g phone market is doing.
Great review Mathew. I chop and change my phones quite often and have found less of a need to spend silly money on a phone for features I don’t need or hardly use. I looked at both phones your reviewing and a few Chinese brands like xiaomi but ultimately went with the pixel 4a. My reasoning for this choice was because I previously had a pixel 3a and looking back through the photos app at my pics I found the best ones were captured on the pixel. I have had iPhones Samsung’s oneplus etc so that’s saying something. Pixel 4a is the perfect size with great battery life fantastic loud stereo speakers beautiful Amoled screen etc. Having 3 years of software updates makes you know your phone will last and being built by google the company that make the os has shown to get the best optimisation out of them. I think the oneplus is nice but in today’s market it’s sometimes not enough. Simplicity wins here and I’d choose the pixel every time.
I don't understand why people keep on hyping Pixels. I get the camera on the Pixel and the OLED display. The useful features on the N10 are: The 30 watt charging is so useful, bigger screen, 90 hz, 5g, expandable storage and also 50 dollars cheaper AND come with free Oneplus Buds Z here in America AND if you sign up for the newsletter, they give you a discount code for ten percent off. Total I paid 300.90 for the preorder just now and I’m so excited!
The OnePlus N10 5G phone is really a great phone for it's price one thing that phone has that I really truly appreciated was the fast Warp charging I do a lot of deliveries for my job and to get home and plug it in and the phone was fully charged in 30 mins ready for me to go on another run again this phone is amazing and a true money maker. I recently sold it and got a Google Pixel 4A 5G and I must admit I love my google pixel more than the N10 5G but that doesn't mean the OnePlus isnt a good phone it is one of the best phones of this current time you won't believe it until you have one in your hand! The One Plus brand is almost similar to the Google Pixel interface a little bit different with more customization options! Like OnePlus Says "Never Settle" (:
I had a Pixel 4a for awhile and it was truly a great phone, pictures were outstanding! Saw the Oneplus N10 today at a Tmobile store in California and it looked like a great phone, $299 plus tax! My next phone will be the Oneplus N10 or Samsung A52.
Is not only about the headphones. I use the 3.5mm jack to connect my Huawei Mate 10 Lite to my car's sound system. I also have an old selfie stick (a gift from Samsung, indeed) and it uses the jack to fire the shooter. I know most of this things have a Bluetooth counterpart, but (1) this means replacing more than just the headphones and (2) the penalty over battery life is something to consider.
Pixel 4a is great, I mean it provides almost everything an average consumer want, but google has to do better planning, like in India they are out of the stock with in 30 minutes of availability, and after 2 weeks its still unavailable. They had a great chance to capture the midrange market, but ...
Google don't give a fuck about selling phones in India. Indian market is already dominated (number wise atleast) by android OEMs. So Google is already making money through them. They have no incentive to try harder. In US & Japan Google is trying to lure people from iOS ecosystem into their fold. So they are trying harder there
But N10 are more cheaper, even there are slight trade offs, I think the phone is still pretty good, though I wish they make the back matte finish even it's plastic.
It's such a crazy decision to try to squeeze in 5G in a $400 phone. You surely could have used that modem money better. Oled, CPU, RAM - basically anything would be better.
Honestly, I think a more fair fight woulda been between the Nord N10 5G and the Pixel 4A 5G, as I do firmly believe that once OnePlus gets around to bringing it here in the States, it'll be priced at either $399 or $299.
Both phones, offer customer something different, depends on your needs. Shame they Both offer in black colour. Why can't Flagships offer headphones Jack or finger print scanner .
Why do the pics on the N10 look so much better to me? Colour! Funny how people just have a preference at the end of the day and justify it...lol I miss the nexus phones!!! Still have a couple laying around!
One plus is already behind the competition even in if a flagship phone, not sure what they were thinking when they put this kind of camera in this budget cellphone against the like of iphone se and pixel 4a.....
I think my phone is definitely between a budget phone and a midrange budget phone. It’s the redmi note 9s and it’s 200 dollars. I thought it was a budget phone but some people didn’t think it was
The thing is, at least in France, the Nord 5G (the 765g one) gets regular discount to ~330€ (399€ MSRP), so IMO it's a no brainer: the nord is a better deal at this price.
