New black plastic turns into old black plastic which look pretty much the same. New fake-metallic-looking plastic turns into a cuffed and cheap-looking mess when worn. Fingerprint reader which works *all* of the time and easy to reach on the back (plus the notification shade shortcut-thingy). Size. a centimeter and a half lees in height makes a huge difference when carrying around. I have better screens to watch TV on so the need for a huge display isn't there. An ultrawide camera is definitely useful, but every single A-B comparison shot between these two that I've seen has the Pixel's shot coming out on top.

I live in the US so the Nord is out of the equation. Besides, stereo speakers, the Nord MONO? Plus I'd rather have one great camera over four average ones. The 🌃 night sight actually competes with the top 🐕 ies. Even if I could purchase the Nord I still would take the 4a? Compact & lightweight, the jack. And I like the polycarbonate build quality. Oxygen OS is very good but I still prefer stock Android especially with Google's computational photography, still the best, very good review!
Used Pixel 2XL and using 4XL. Pixel gives you better camera and software experience. It's so simple and clean especially because I use gmail, google maps and various other google apps frequently. Once the google watch is out, I am gonna switch to it from my galaxy watch.
I've had my Nord for a little over a week now. Before that, I had the Pixel 3A XL. When the specs were revealed for the 4A and it showed to be just a slightly upgraded 3A, I wasn't impressed. Stock Android was nice, and the cameras software is incredible on Pixel devices, but other than that, it was unimpressive, boring, and glitchy. I took a chance and had a Nord shipped to the US, and I can confidently say I have no regrets. I love everything about this phone, and I'm positive it was a better choice than the 4A. Oxygen OS is the only skin that I think does it better than stock Android. The only thing the Pixel does better is pictures, but the Nord's camera is good enough, so no big deal, unless you're into photography. If you're in a country that has both phones, I'd highly recommend the Nord. Even if you're in the US, I believe the Nord is worth that extra $100.
Here's the real reason to pick one or the other (For US folk). The Pixel 4a supports CDMA or GSM, depending on the model. While the One Plus Nord works only on GSM (at the moment). If you use a carrier such as Verizon, Sprint or US Cellular, you use CDMA. This means you really can only pick the Google Pixel 4a. AT&T and T-Mobile use GSM. This means you can pick either the Nord or the Pixel. Do your research and always check that the phone you buy is supported by your service provider.

Got the Pixel 4a about a week ago and I love it.Believe it or not but I actually had the Nord as well and sold it to a friend of mine. Both phones are great, and both have different specs etc.But the reason I bought the 4a was specifically for the camera, and because I like the smaller form factor of the Pixel. A lot of people still prefer a smaller phone!!!!
you forgot to mention that oneplus nord is a 5G phone and has Wrap charge...
Pixel 4 a fans wouldn't like that very much.
@@BudgetNugs 5G not so much. But that 30watt warp charge is very appealing
Well it has 18 watts to
Warp charge is amazing because your phone doesnt get hot. 5 G isn't important now but it's a nice future proof feature.
The question is if you can get the OnePlus 7t or 7 pro are they better? They can be found under $350 and it's a better processor than all the budget phones. It's like last year's flagship at half the price.
@@BudgetNugs exactly, the 7 pro just seems like the better option
Hey man ! I’ve seen a lot of comparisons b/w these 2 phones but ur seems really unbiased and really keeping it simpler ! Kudos✌️
already ordered my pixel to replace my oneplus3. And since im in Canada, I never had a choice in the first place
how are you liking it so far? I'm also a OP3 user thinking about upgrading
@@Samo762 here are my personal negatives as everything else is great. i like the smaller print it has on your hand but prefer op3 if you watch loads of vids. battery is great but for a new phone its as good as op3 was back then but doesnt come close to op3 charge time (still fast enough though). fingerprint on the back is good, but prefer front like op3 as i find myself having to actually pick the phone up to unlock compared to just touching one finger on it. The massive positive change (everything else just works good) on the 4a is the camera quality step up. its noticeable for sure. i dont play games on it. And a little querk that 4a has which i find slightly annoying. when you tilt the screen, it takes a while comapred to op3 to respond, or more like it needs a higher turning angle with a little extra delay before it rotates. that little sec delay is driving me nuts haha. ok enough now...... overall for the money and competition i am happy and would recommend :)
Really loved this comparison as I myself am trying to decide which one to buy, and I am leaning towards Pixel 4a.
I love both but I think google pixel is better but I like the screen on the bird more, which one do I pick
I was heading for the Nord because of various things, screen size, colour, performance.... Then I find out that there's FB related apps that CANNOT be uninstalled..... THAT pissed me off no end.... 😠 WHY OnePlus WHY????
What do you mean with FB
@@poepzuiger69 Facebook has a social media app along with Whatsapp, and Instagram. All owned by Facebook which means all of those will probably be permanently installed on Oneplus phones. You won't be able to uninstall them.

@@amirulsyahira7295 .Not ordinary plastic. Google embraced plastic and made it art.. OnePlus plastic is also good.. but I saw some quality issues after using it for 2 months..the charging port was kind of bend and wear and tare was observed however I used op 5 and op8 ,I used it very roughly but no signs of weakeness.
Moral: OnePlus claims that they have come back with mid range handsets however clear compromise was made on quality but nevertheless it is still a king as it has 765g and oxygen OS.
If ur a person who watches movies and consumes lots of multimedia content and if ur in a tight budget,u can opt for Nord but remember to slap a case on it otherwise Pixel is the safe bet, durability, quality and brand safety.
PS: If ur indian, lots of controversies regarding security with Chinese handsets and the tensions on the border, pls don't buy it 🙏
I'm tired of these damn big phones making my shorts fall down. I want the pixel 4a !!!!!
😀👍
Maybe get some shorts that fit. If your shorts are falling down, the problem isn't your phone.
@@Andrew-it7fb Actually, yes it is. If one phone is so heavy my shorts fall down, and another phone is not heavy and they don't fall down, then I solved the problem.
@@rodneymolidorjr.6095 you clearly missed the point. If any phone is making your shorts fall down then they don't fit properly. They're not that heavy. It's not normal for that to happen, even with heavier phones.

Nord without any doubt
6:55 - That is some brutal game
One Nord downside: it's not sold where I live (US), so I'd have to buy a grey import. In addition it's a bit too big to fit comfortably in a jeans front pocket. (I'm typing this on a Pixel 4a)
ASBYT: Software experience on oneplus is very close to stock
OOS11: *Nervous Sweating*
I'm a Pixel user since they launched in 2006 (and Nexus before that). If the Pixel 4a had launched when it was meant to (probably May this year) I'd have it, for sure. BUT, it didn't (and you still can't actually get hold of it here in the UK) so I had a decision to make. I watched everything I could about the NORD and liked what I saw BUT I thought it only right to wait until the 4a was officially announced before I made a final decision. That decision? The OnePlus NORD. I've had it since it launched here in the UK and I've not been disappointed. For what it's worth though I think you are 100% correct, if you are in the market for a phone around this price you can't go wrong with either.
You confused me more in a clear way😂😅with the closing part of ur video
So I have a OnePlus 6T looking to upgrade but won't upgrading to the latest 8pro or 8T, was looking at the Nord , is it worth upgrading if not what budget phone is better than the OnePlus 6T but without the high price tag.
I'd get the 4a for the camera and software updates
Also the headphone jack

5.8 inch for a phone is big enough. People say its too small for watching movies on but thenordis 6.5 inch and when was the last time you bought aTV with a 6.5 inch display? I havea65inch TV for watching TV!!!! Too much focus on the screen size. Pixel4a all the way as its the better camera and will be quicker to get android updates and security updates so it's a no brainer this one
Right. 5.8 should ideally be enough real estate for a phone
If the Oneplus was smaller, I'd go with it but also, I'm missing the super wide angle on the pixel. Can't really decide.
Stereo sound on pixel is a nice plus too
I have similar thoughts, i like that the pixel is smaller, but i would miss the ultra wide lense and 90 hz that rhe nord has!
Where'd he get two pixels from?? They are still on pre-order in Australia. Is it any different in US? Before starting to watch the video, I'm pretty sure, he's gonna tell pixel 4a is a mind blowing budget phone.
Really wish they would keep making the pop up camera like my 7 t pro maclaren or do away with the camera all together
Same
It's going under the screen. With higher pixel density specifically over the lense.
I would definitely choose pixel 😍
If you buy the one plus do you get the earphones whit them or do you need to buy them separately? 4:21
Absolute no brainer ... Owned both and Nord blows 4a out the water for evetying barring the camera
Do you prefer the Google G cam compared to the pre installed cam ?

Keep up the great work! You're making some of the best videos in tech these days. Your content is high quality and refreshingly original. Thanks for not just repeating the same old tropes that other tech sites are doing.
Do it have heating issues on video calls?
I'll prefer compactness for 90hz
Pixel 4a for me...for 1 big reason...security is better when i compare to OP phones...Less chances of data leaking concerns.

I´ve never had that kind of sratches and scuffs with normal use.
