I finished BMT a week and a day ago and I’m at tech right now. I watched your videos before going and it really wasn’t that bad looking back some parts were actually fun. For anyone going to basic don’t be scared and go for it!
Kids these days are so lucky. There are literally thousands of videos on what to expect every minute of the day during BMT. Back when i enlisted in the Fall of 1989, i didn’t sleep a wink the night before. The definition of anxiety is the way I felt in the middle of the night the morning we departed for San Antonio.
That’s a good point. I’m watching these videos and they have REALLY helped me be able to wrap my head around what’s going to happen. I can’t imagine not knowing anything😂 thank you for your service🇺🇸❤️
The arrival to USAF basic training and getting off the bus will be the hardest part; you will get yelled at for about an hour. This is just a wake-up call to get you in the mindset of being in the service and the TI’s (Training Instructors) will not touch you. I don’t even recall any of them even cursing at me. The first night in bed was the only time I second guessed my decision because it's a what the hell just happened... It’s just a teardown build-up process getting you into the mindset to react without second guessing, which at some point might just save your life.
From what I’ve observed during my time; of the four services the USAF treats its members the best.
Basic is the first step into a bigger world. AF basic compared to the other services is easier but just as important. As a former TI, my advice is to arrive motivated, in top physical condition, and mentally tough. Learn as fast as your can, and help your fellow Airman. My 24-year career was not about me it was about we. We spent much of our lives in the middle east during OIF and OEF. Iraq and Afghanistan. Most important is to have fun, study, and become the expert at your job. Not to show up the people that work with you, but to solve the issues that will come up. Issues you can help solve because of your knowledge. Thank you to everyone for serving and keeping us safe.
I just graduated bmt June 2,2022 I also watched your videos before going in. It wasn’t bad honestly. You just have to get use to the fact that you are on someone elses time and that you aren’t there for yourself, it’s not about one person succeeding. It’s everyone.

Good video but, I have been and I have been more recently and I can tell you that it is indeed scary. It is intimidating and there’s nothing you can do about. It is hard. But you can’t just run away from every difficult thing in life. You have to face your fears and do hard stuff. The more you run away from hard stuff in life the more lame you become. Just keep your head down people! You get through it one day, one hour, one minute at a time. And don’t not do it because you think it’ll be hard!

I can't join at the moment because I'm in braces, but I'll be 39 when I get them off and still able to join. What I fear the most about BMT are the mornings. I don't know how that is even humanly possible...

The Air Force is NOT interested in comparing itself to other branches in terms of "easiness" of the training!! The Air Force doesn't feel the need for NON-STOP SCREAMING like the marines!! Obviously, if the Air Force wanted it hard ...it would be!! It's about training to meet the mission of FLY, FIGHT, WIN!! If you need nonstop SCREAMING to get you motivated, you shouldn't join ANY branch!!! I don't need to scream AYE AYE SIR, AYE AYE SIR non-stop!!
433rd didn’t have doors on all the stalls at least my dorm didn’t. One of the ones that didn’t have a door was right in front of the entrance to the Latrine too. For some reason everyone wanted to use it too. It was weird making eye contact as you enter and see them sitting there 😂😂😂😂
In the RAF we do the gas chamber every year, and I did 38 years! We did do drills in there and if you did them correctly you "shouldn't" get a lung full but you always get some!
Trust me....there's TONS of crayon eating marines that sit in chairs for "serious sitting hours!!". Let's not forget your boss, the US Navy!! They have hundreds of "CHAIR" jobs too!! GO AIR FORCE!!

Can i join airforce at 36?
Yes, the limit is 39
im 36 and joining.
@@ThatEmoGirl hi! How is it going for you?
The most painful things in my life was getting OC sprayed, gassed and tased 😑 don’t do it yall
You're at JBA? What a small world 😮
Nope! I’m at Fort Meade! Close though.
Hi Mikayla, I was wondering is the air force the easiest job for girls/women? What is the easiest job for girls and what do they do?
Did you figure out the answer? I was wondering the same thing
The airforce seem real easy compared to the Marine corps but i do miss yhe boot camp experience i had
Do you have to serve after completing BMT?
Where do your phone be for that eight weeks? Do they take it?
They take your phone and lock it away.
what is beast week
I think they changed beast week into something called Pacer Forge whatever that is
My cardio is terrible how hard is the pt running
as long as you do some training beforehand you'll be fine, nothing too intense maybe just run around the block every few days or some basketball
I leave the 13th. I’m freaking the fuck out to be honest. The anxiety is real lol.
I leave the 13th too! Good luck 😊
I also leave the 13th

So there are bathroom stalls with doors? or?
Yes. The toilets are in stalls but showers are in an open room
HAHA not if you go to 326 east side dorms apparently they had no stalls on their toilets but I was on the other side and I had stalls
Not scared to go. Just been curious if 30 is to old to join! Haha I don’t feel old, just don’t wanna be the grandpa of basic 😂
30 is definitely not too old to join!
it's awesome because air force has the highest age average of all the branches.
Honestly tech school is so much more depressing them basic for me at least ( I was mustangs squadron )
I was also mustangs and tech school was not it for me LOL I'd do basic again before tech school.
what makes it depressing
Can you bring your own hygiene products?
yes but they may or may not make you throw away unmarked stuff!
Well its the AF so, no...it wouldn't be scary. Scariest part is probably getting 300 thread count sheets instead of 500....
LOL
what about SUNSCREEN as a very very very fair-skinned person, i can't be outside for more than about 30 minutes without sunscreen.
The air force is the easiest branch of the military. It's kick back compared to army, marines & navy.
I can't wait, I leave in October!
does the skincare have to be travel sized
I believe so. I don’t remember checking a bag.
Depends if you get Disneyland or Alcatraz! Lol
If your scared of going to basic just don’t go… join the corps instead
"In my opinion, it is easy"
Yep, no lie there. Those chairs got some serious sitting hours. *laughs in Marine*
Stay safe sister 😁
Trust me....there's TONS of crayon eating marines that sit in chairs for "serious sitting hours!!". Let's not forget your boss, the US Navy!! They have hundreds of "CHAIR" jobs too!! GO AIR FORCE!!
My step dad keeps telling me not to tell anyone about my bipolar, depression, and adhd? Will I get in trouble for NOT bringing it up? I’m scared of getting in trouble! Ahhh! Please please help~ thank you for this video
How was the shower ? I fear that because I take long showers 😅
Me too and I’m really nervous about it since I leave Dec 13 😭
@@stephannyavendano lol just wash the main parts of the body that’s stinks 😷🤣
@@stephannyavendano I leave Dec 13th too. See you there lol
If you think its scary, you might want to reconsider joining
