    I just raise and lower my build plate (10mm up then Home) up and down about 5-10 times before I do most prints just to mix the resin in my vat. It seems to work pretty well to mix the resin & dye back up.

    Great detail, few failures, (usually my fault) and around £20 UK per litre, even less if you buy the 2 or 3 litre packs.

    Hey mate! I just got my first resin printer after printing FDM for quite some time. I decided to go with this resin after I seen many reviews on its flexibility and durability and easiness to work with. I have a Uniformation GKTwo and I'm really struggling to dial in the settings to get decent mino prints! I'm doing like 1.5 - 2s exposure and I'm not sure what's wrong! I wish I could give you solid advice. By tweaking exposure times and possibly slowing down lift speeds you might be able to squeeze out a bit more detail. I feel we have to compromise between brittle with more detail and durable with less detail.

      I'm not sure how much it will help but keeping everything at 80 degrees F. With base layers at 30 seconds and regular layers at 4.75 seconds. My printer is a Elegoo Saturn first generation. I would guess more recent printers will have lower exposure times.

      @@ArtemNaumov I wish I could help, but that printer is so far beyond mine. I would start with the cones of calibration test. It is a binary pass fail test. The results will probably be overexposed ie loss of detail. This value is your upper limit using that exposure time you can be confident the file will completely print. Then use a quality pre supported stl file dial back the exposure times until you get the best detail.

    What about shrinkage? Sunlu states it's 6 to 8%. I now it don't warp, but Is it ok for large items, technical stuff? Does shrinkage compensation do the work?

    • @oldoneswithdice
      @oldoneswithdice  3 дня назад

      I really can't speak towards technical stuff. I primarily use resin for high detail gaming miniatures. For technical parts I go with an FDM printer.
      That said I do have an engineer friend who used this resin and said he was impressed with the dimensional accuracy.

  • @bulletz9280
    @bulletz9280 Месяц назад

    I personally wasn't a fan of this resin. Like all "draft" resins it makes some significant compromises in detail and dimensional accuracy. Functional parts fit together poorly, or not at all, and I also found that uncured resin had a tendency to stick to it after washing, particularly near the underside of the print (nearest the build plate) resulting in a poor surface finish in those areas. Another area that I found lacking was the strength, in my testing it was so similar to standard resin that I could barely tell the difference. It might survive handling a little better but to be honest I suspect the Wargamer water washable resin is actually a bit better suited to that job.
    The two areas I found it was good were price and ease of printing. It's a fairly forgiving resin that doesn't seem to react as badly to amateurish settings or support placement as standard resins do. I think for the average wargamer printing minis it will be great and might even be the best in its price category. For more demanding applications such as model railways I think it will fall a fair way short of standard resins and high-end specialty resins.
