I bought 6 1kg bottles of dark grey when I got my first resin printer a couple months ago. Then they put the black on sale for around $15 a kg, decided to massively stock up on it.
Thank you for the vid
Well thx for the video ! I was following your instructions and made the same mistake for the interior magnet cabin !
Oh no.
@@alexandremoreau8680 were you able to fix it?
@@oldoneswithdice haha not yet i am playing with the 3 corridor without magnet haha
What I did was glue the three magnets to a thin piece of plastic. The plastic came from a blister pack packaging. Once the magnets were solid on the plastic I glued the plastic to the 3 space wall lining the magnets into the holes. Be sure to line up the polarity.
Hey dude, love the video and channel from what I've seen so far! I had a question about Mobile Arms that I haven't seen anywhere - what's the deal with the mechs and scale? Are they robots, power armor, or titanfall style mechs? All of the above? The size of the figures doesn't make some of them seem like they could fit a pilot, so I was curious about this. Would the rules/game work as well with larger sized mech figures/bases?
They are more Titanfall than powered armor. I'm not sure how the pilots actually fit in the some of the frames frames. The ferret is one of my favorite and i think a pilot would almost need to be curled into a fetal position to fit. You could definitely use other models for the frames. I think Tau Suits from 40k would work very well. The main thing is that the movement templates are designed to work with 60mm bases. You could go a bit large but might not work as smoothly.
@oldoneswithdice awesome thank you! I've got some similar mecha from other STL makers that are Titanfall adjacent so that sounds perfect!
It says 405 wavelength setting on the bottle, so should I be changing the PWM settings on my slicer to match? Then would the exposure time need to be increased if it was set to 405 instead of default 255?
PWM is a setting for intensity of the light, not wavelength. I would recommend leaving PWM to the default setting. To the best of all resins react to the 405 nm wavelength or very close.
@@oldoneswithdice thanks, I'm a noob to resin printing. Yeah I changed the exposure time and it worked out great. Left the PWM alone.
Can you please do a followup on this video? How is the game?
Does it all just stick together somehow or do you gotta use some type of glue to make sure it sticks together?
I used white glue to glue the pieces together.
No part 2?
The packing on your brush came out very easily. However, the PTFE packing is stuck in my airbrush. Any suggestions without using one of the needles to remove the bushing and possibly ruining the needle tip?

I have a bad experience with Sunlu resin. I don't have a single problem with difrent resin on the market, but with Sunlu I've tried everything but it always comes off the board. I'm very disappointed because I can't figure out why this is happening only with Sanlu resin
Just got mine and put everything together fast. Did the first mission... I got swarmed with some unlucky rolls and token pulls, lol! Great fun! Just ordered the expansions and sleeves for the cards to keep nice.
My sleeves cards don’t fit back in the box. =x
I'm having trouble cleaning this resin off of my prints
@@Bikeadelic what are you using?
This one is fully solo right?
No this one is head to head. One player with a John wickesque character while the other player has a higher number of models with different levels of training.
Where did you get those clear coloured titles for the walls and floor ?
Search for kids magnetic blocks. I'm in the process of painting them and adding details to make them look more like ship interiors.
@@oldoneswithdice nice painted or not still looks cool
Wait hold up now hold on Something ain’t right …. Hoe many pieces is this ? How many sets would i meed to buy?
There are quite a few manufacturers. I picked up a large set of eBay. I found a set on Temu that just had the 3x3 squares and 3x3 triangles.

1 year later.. this is still my favorite resin. i have shipped 100s of models small and large and zero issues with damage or breakage in shipping
Sorry, how is the smell? I had a hard time dealing with the Elegoos resin smell.
Thank you so much for this video! I just dialed in my resin yesterday and I was going a bit nuts because I had to go to like 4.4 seconds for it to work properly on my Saturn 3 Ultra.
I got it directly from china(TaoBao) 2kg for just US$35 including shipping to Singapore.
How is this resin for medium sized-larger sized prints? Every one I see says it’s great for miniatures, I’m not big on miniature printing.
@@abstractfate6104 ruclips.net/user/shortsFZ1TKT4CgO4?si=uCVuOUrcKvPg7Mh3
@@abstractfate6104 The model in the short is about 8 inches tall. I was told it survived being knocked off a table onto a cement floor at Gencon. I've found the resin to work well for larger models.
@@oldoneswithdice awesome, been thinking about getting sunlu abs when my printer arrives, then I remember I have a whole setup I still need to buy just to heat and ventilate 😂
1:45 - running 4.75sec wow that is really high, I use this resin about 2-2.3 sec on my epax E10 printers (with saturn 1 lcd) also 2sec on Saturn3Ultra and works without fail
I have become death. Destroyer of worlds. And cheese!
Where's the giant rat who makes all of the rules
THE RAT BOIZ!!! I think we are going to need more paint
So I just read the rules and I want you to make sure that I am reading them right. Can a mech move not take an action, pass and then make another free move, pass and then make another free move and so on.
@@heathgray1277 yes that is correct. Though if a player does they are delaying their vent cycle. Points are scored in a player's vent cycle.
@@oldoneswithdiceYeah I knew it wasn't an optimal tactic, I was just making sure I was reading the rules correct. That you can stretch out your turn while the other player hits their vent cycle. At first this kinda threw me off because it is so different than other games.
I just bought a kit with this, and it wasn't working initially. This video helped me figure out what was wrong with it. I'm totally new to airbrushing. Thanks for the detailed disassembly and reassembly. :)
You're very welcome.
2:28 that looks exactly like GW's eldar transport carrier. Is that model by ghamak?
It's a "Space Elf" transport. Lol This particular file came free off the purple site. It's since been taken down. I have purchased some of the Ghamark proxies and they printed perfectly.
Same issue...everything pulls away...going to up my exposure time and see if it fixes this crap...ABS 3.0 doesn't seem to have these issues.
ive never used 2.0 - i found this video by trying to see what the diff was between 2.0 and 3.0 ABS. i normally use SUNLU ABS on 80% of my prints. but i have a Halot Mage PRO and no issues. here are my ABS settings: 6 burn-in layers, 6-8 trans layers. with 35um (0.035"). 15~20 sec Bottom layer (depending on size), 2.0 ~ 3.0 sec Norm Exp (depending on wall thickness) 10mm Lift Dist, 1mm/s Bott/Burn speed, and 6mm/s Norm Speed. also - have you tried Sanding your build plate ? it helped. i used 800 grit - just to get top layer cleaned up. it doesnt need deep cuts to bond to - like textured FDM plates do. try using LIGHT OFF settings. i use: 1.5s Before Print (idea is to let air bubbles escape) 1.5s After Print (to let layers fuse and to cool off bcuz ABS gets really hot) 0.5s After Lift (to let Z-motor slow down before changing directions)
What's your favorite Ultra Modern Skirmish Game?
Black Site makes some interesting games. The card mechanic is cool
They really do. I personally think they are putting out some of the best table top games right now. The next one I'm looking forward to is updated Violent Dark.
Be prepared to spend a day putting figures together
What paints did you use?
@josephgardner6034 mostly Applebarrel craft paint. I used low cost craft paint for most terrain. Except for some Pro Acryl Ivory. I didn't have any ivory from applebarrel
I have got to say my experience after months of use has been different with this resin, prints that were printed solid no issue however prints with hollowed out parts recently have started to ooze after being printed washed and cured months prior to being painted. They seem fine before priming, however after allowing priming to dry I start getting some clear liquid oozing, I have not had this with other resin brands, So other than solid prints I will no longer use that brand for figures etc. a lot of time and work basically destroyed. Again, this only seems to happen on hollow or semi hollowed prints.
Interesting. I had this same problem with Elegoo's ABS. After that I stopped hollowing prints. The costs savings didn't seem worth the risk of uncured resin leaks and popped prints.
@@oldoneswithdice totally agree
have you tried the NEW Elegoo ABE-Like 3.0 yet ???
I should have some arriving later this week.
@@oldoneswithdice i like it a lot. i got "Black", but it is not Black-Black. its more like SMOKE-Black and fairly translucent under 0.125"(3mm) thick. but Over 0.150" it starts to become more opaque. so it looks cool with under/back-lighting on hollow models. it printed very nicely. im fairly new to Resin printing and have only been using Resin since Jan2024 (FDM for over 1yr now), so i have NOT tried Elegoo ABS 2.0 yet. but im curious as to how diff they are (if any). i havent seen a lot of reviews about 3.0, but seems some people just dont like it. not sure why. i had no issues. 6 layer burn-in, 6 trans layers, 15~20 sec Bottom layer (depending on size), 2.0 ~ 3.0 sec Norm Exp (depending on wall thickness) with 10mm Lift Dist, 1mm/s Bott/Burn speed, and 6mm/s Norm Speed. but can run all the way up to 14mm/s After Trans Layer with 2-5mm thick walls. im using a Halot Mage PRO. i love this printer. i get good results with my Creality LD-002H also.
@@NinjaBonez thanks for the info. I have a bunch of resins I'm working on reviews for. Hopefully I can get the test prints done next week.
Not great for parts that will be soaked in water. As it will expand slightly and becomes more flexible and prone to failure.
Just came across your video, just bought the book myself a few days ago after seeing it on the shelf of my local game store a couple years ago Cant wait to get myself some cars and learn this game Thank you for showing the team builder, im gonna spend time experimenting with it and using it to theory craft Great video!
It's a great game. Next think you'll have more cars than you know what to do with.
@oldoneswithdice Thats the hope! I'll have to build a shelf to put them all lol
I love the shower scene lol I have so many miniatures to paint 🎨 I don’t know 🤷♀️ if I’m coming or going but I just love painting 🖼️ them so I hope you find the time to paint them all. Enjoy 😊
Yes, you did, when you could have bought all those beatiful Oathmark figures
I had so much fun putting everything together in that set, and playing Spearhead with the cards, board and terrain that were included. I was pretty burned out on 40K, and the Skaven are a lot of fun to paint. Just going base color, wash, drybush highlights mostly. I then went out and bought the Slaves to Darkness spearhead, the Darkoath army set, and a box of Varanguard for good measure. What was I thinking? Lol!
@@KillaSoda I have put together the models for the Spearhead force. I was impressed with them. I really like the Spearhead game mode. Lots of fun mechanics in there.
I'm waiting for a Skaventide Box at a Black Friday deal or something. Just like with Dominion I expect some good savings from LGS trying to finally get them sold. If they sell all the boxes before I got one, it is okay too :D
I bought 3x skaventide boxes, going to run them as Tyranids, 120 clan rats will be 120 hormagaunts, the big ratling guns will be 3x exocrines, and the snipers, 9x zoenthropes, the rat ogres will be 6 melee tyranid warriors and 3x ranged ones, the mounted rat going to give it some wings to make a winged tyranid prime ect.. Should be fun and some weird chaos unleashing the rats on my friends
That's awesome. Are you going to paint them up as Skaven or go with a Tyranid paint scheme?
@@oldoneswithdice I have not decided on paint yet or if I want to spend the money and kitbash in more tyranid bits like mutations randomly throughout the Skaven. It's a project I'll tackle after I finish my squatted 10,000 point deathwatch army that is 70% built 😭
Hey getting into Warhammer 40k a bit overwhelmed as to buy introductory set, combat patrols , or starter set. Looking at combat patrols for the quick games but I don't know. Complete noob here 😅
Buy the models you like. Some factions in 40k are more competitive than others. Any faction can beat any other faction, though. If you want to start 40K the combat patrol boxes are a good starting point. If you are looking for quick games consider OPR's Grim Dark Future. It's free for the base rules , they have versions of the 40k factions and and a free list builder. I find it a more enjoyable and quicker play experience. it's also much more scalable. 40k is designed to be "balanced" at 2000 points.
Slap chop method is gonna be your key to victory my dude but regardless of your approach, wish you the best of luck
Slapchop is definitely going to be one of the test paint jobs. Though I think just a Zenithal might get me a similar result in less time. We shall see?
Well I would love to see how you plan on painting these guys
Never have I ever had more minis than I could paint, but I do hate painting minis for others like my cousin. I don't like seeing my work depart from me.
Have you ever bitten off more than you can chew when buying miniatures?
Such incredible sculpts
@@JonSteitzer these came from their Kickstarter. They are amazing with so many little details.
Been working with the Anycubic Tough v2 and I'm not very impressed with the surface detail compared to my usual prints. Just to be clear my business is precision printing and very accurate surface detail (rivet heads and wood textures) something I don't seem to be able to get so far. Any tips/suggestions..?
@@thebritishengineer8027 if you can maybe look into less flexible resins. It seems we trade out some of the details for flexibility. Also going lower on your exposures times can give you more details at the cost of an increase chance of print failure.
@@oldoneswithdice Cheers I will try that tonight..
I recently switched from Anycubic Standard to Anycubic ABS-Like pro 2. I admit however, that I have a little FOMO going on. Is there a big difference between the brands? If never tried Sunlu
Hi, can you please compare Sunlu ABS like to Elegoo ABS 3.0, in terms of detail and settings?
@@cwtjones it's on my list of resins to test. I definitely prefered the Sunlu abs-like over the Elegoo Abs like 2.0. I'm curious what Elegoo is bringing to the table with 3.0
