Hey Zack, the exclamation mark shows the battery percentage when the phone is laid down flat on display. You have to bump the phone slightly and then the indicator will show. It doesn't work while you're holding it.

Well tbh would it make that much of a difference? For these videos and on paper sure, but in real usage? Long ago scratches were a pretty big concern. But putting Gorilla Glass on phones basically fixed that. With a perfectly clean screen holding it in the perfect position I can make out 2 super tiny scratches after 4 years. And I'm not super careful trying to prevent that stuff. No screen protector. My old Oneplus One has a slightly larger scratch but even that is only visible when searching for it from pretty weird angles.

I've got mine few days ago and i'm loving it, the only thing that is bothering me is the poor balanced sound coming from the stereo speakers. I tried making sound only the top speaker by going in the setting and balancing the audio, and it get pretty loud and remains clear, so it isn't a problem of the speaker itself, but a balance problem.
As of now the phone sometimes gets few minor bugs, but that's completely fine and normal for the first phone of a brand new company.

I suggested my dad to order this phone which I did today, he isn't a tech enthusiast and quite old fashioned. His Samsung, just a year old is struggling with god knows what sort of lag and also the lack of storage due to 64 Gigs is affecting my dad's work and all. Nothing seems to be rather interesting, and most importantly the end user experience is very clean, simple and easy to use. Also specs are great, so is the build and design. I am glad this phone launched at such a great time, I mean this is just the perfect midrange Android for elders which is unique and value for money, obviously below the iPhone and Pixel.
