Love League of their own. Most of the games were filmed at Bosse Field in Evansville. I saw a lot of AAA games there when I was a kid. It was so exciting when they were filming it here.
I saw the Evansville Triplets play there a few times when I lived there as a kid in 1975 and 1976. Now that I know it was filmed there I may give it another shot.
Such a great movie.
I recently purchased bootlegs of Zone of Interest and All of Us Strangers. I’m excited about the opportunity to support these amazing films!

I previously had ''A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN'' on Laserdisc that had the Original Documentary. It should be on this new Super High Definition release.
I can’t remember if the Columbia Classic 4K had it, but this will have all the same features.

I did not get the boxsets so very happy A League of Their Own and Sweeney Todd are getting stand alone 4K releases. Will get for sure. I've never seen Repo Man but been wanting to and what better way than on a 4K Criterion.
Dude i got the Robocop 2 from Shout Factory with the extra slip cover(which is so awesome) and the movie posters for $44 and it came last week!!!!
Finally Opera on 4k. I can't wait.

And Kino announced Kingdom of the Spiders today. Love that flick.
Interesting how the Kino cult line pivoted from films like Jess Franco to nature run a muck films. But I'm just fine with that because I've seen this movies on TV back in the 80's. I'm gonna get these in a Kino sale and stock up.

Thanks for update on sales. I normally look everyday but haven't the past few since we have been car shopping for the third time this year. Been pretty crazy here! I am tempted to pick up House of the Dragon. When it comes to TV, I don't have to have 4K. Hell, most of my tv shows are DVD. Very few are bluray and only one is on 4K. LOL

All of us Strangers 4k in Criterion from Sept. Like Ken I’ve Got League of their Own 4k in Col Classics Vol 1.
I just got my copy of Godzilla Minus One. The sound is freaking awesome, on par if not better than Top Gun: Maverick. And yes, there is English subtitles so you know what is said and on the screen. If you decide to wait and get it when it comes to US, it is a DEFINITE buy. You won't regret getting this movie.

Repo Man I do not own, so getting this 4K seems to be the right time I change that. Opera I am excited for. I am just worried I have enough home equity to get the loan needed for Severin prices.

I want Opera, but we'll see what the price ends up being first. I'm definitely getting Alphaville for sure. I'll pick up Bound in the Criterion sale next month. My Chinatown disc shows up tomorrow. That should be a priority in your viewing. One of my favorite films.

I would like Repo Man on 4K, never bought the Blu-ray. I’d have to import it. I just put my order in for Blue Velvet and Cry Baby on 4K for £66 😖, the price is sickening. A league of Their Own is awesome. I hope it’s a UK release too, if not that’ll suck. I’ll grab From Beyond, that’s cool. Opera is a wicked film but I already have a decent copy on Blu-ray from Cult Films. I recently got the limited edition of Dellmorte Dellamore from Severin which set me back a whopping £58. Not sure I can do the same for Opera on 4K.

I love the Criterion September releases including ‘All of Us Strangers’ (which is welcome considering one of your fellow physical media RUclipsrs said it wouldn’t be getting a North American release-obviously they didn’t know what they were talking about), ‘Gregg Araki Collection’ and‘Happiness.’
Also looking forward to Kino Cult’s ‘Empire of the Ants’ (only because Joan Collins is in it) and Columbia’s ‘A League of Their Own.’
September is gonna be a costly month, unless I wait for the next Criterion sale.)

Opera is going to be my first Severin purchase. Hopefully they took the criticism from FFoGV's packaging to heart, I really want it to be a box set like Arrow has done for the other Dario Argento films.

Hey Ken 👋 I already have Double Jeopardy & Red Eye on 4k so just keep those, I have A League Of Their Own on Blu-ray but I'll upgrade to 4k in September. Noting to buy tomorrow 😢 but next week it's four 4k movies to buy 👊📽
If I had the choice I would always choose 88 Films over other boutique labels. Their artwork and packaging in general always seems superior.

I hope a league of their own gets an australian release, you just never know whats coming out here anymore its never much at all so usually have to import for double the price

Severin did a theatrical run for their 4K of Opera. Glad I watched that instead of blind buying what looks to be an expensive edition.
I’m an argento fan but Opera didn’t click with me. It’s ok and has some cool moments but I’ll wait for a cheaper edition

A League of Their own is one of the two reasons I passed on Columbia volume 1. Jerry Mcguire the other "sports" movie was the other. To make a boxset with 4 all time great films then throw in those two things just made no sense.
I think both those movies are good but I'm not as big a fan of Jerry Maguire. I do love A League of Their Own, though.
I guess you didn't want to show Columbia your money for that box set.
@frommatorav1 It was their first time out with Columbia box sets and I didn't know there would be more all scattered like the first one. In retrospect having known they would all make no sense I may have bought it. I'm just saying that they are the reason I didn't. It's not like I don't have more box sets than brains.

Trying to find that Karate Kid box set from a reputable company for months now. No luck yet
I imported a version of the boxset from a Danish music shop website called iMusic. Best price I could find. I'll also be buying the standalone VHS covers assuming they all include new extras. The one coming out in a few days has 30 minutes of dailies or audition footage, something like that.

The “Bulgars” (AKA The “Bulgoirers”) sounds like a good one. 😂 Ken, maybe you need slow down. I’d give a pass if it were a foreign title but “burglars” is a common English word. I understand you try to do these as fast as possible, but what’s the point in that? If you don’t care about these films to take two seconds to pronounce the title correctly, why mention them at all? I’ve always enjoyed your channel and understand that RUclips algorithms favor quantity. But maybe take some time for quality.

Didn't like Zone of Intrest. Don't get me wrong, it was a really good idea and story, but it just felt like someone had taken Schindlers List and made it look like 2001 A Space Odyssey, and made it for children. The arty, weird side of it didn't go with the story being told in my opinion.
Digipacks are the absolute worst. Trash packaging. I wish they would go away.

I’m an Argento fan and honestly Opera was a let down for me after hearing good things, it’s ok and I can see why it gets love but it’s no where near his best and not sure if I want to own this version atm the price will decide for me?

Wow nothing really new or first time release on bluray or 4k. Just a bunch re-releases that already been released sad & lame. And this is one of the reasons why physical media is dying off & shrinking every year. Bc the studios & small labels are not investing in more first time releases just releasing the same titles over & over again. And this is sad bc we didn't have this problem during the DVD era. Like we are having now during the bluray & 4k era
No offense, but they overhyped the mystery title being Sweeney Todd. Then they tell content creators oh don’t say what it is. I would’ve been like wow what a mess and told everyone the boxset wasn’t worth it.
If Double Jeopardy and Red Eye are put in another Paramount Scares boxset and we STILL don’t get Friday The 13th Part 2 on 4K, I’m not gonna be happy. We should’ve had that on 4K last year but they dragged their feet and were like um no here’s the same 4K of the original movie with a steelbook. Come on Paramount. Those two titles I mentioned earlier are NOT horror movies so why would they get put in Volume 2?

If they release 5 different releases for the same movie the prices will go up. Then complained about Beverly Hills Ninja at $24? When Warner Brothers is releasing American Fiction at $35 for a bluray. If you are going to complain about Sony complain about all the other studios doing the same thing and worse or you just come off as a hypocrite. You complained about Sony 3 or 4 times in this video alone and thats the only studio. Always blows my mind when all other studios are much worse. Love to watch you and follow you but your opinions on Sony are just wrong. I’m all about fairness so I will 100% comment every time you ONLY talk about Sony. Gets annoying especially when you praise the worst studios just hard to follow someone you don’t agree with. I agree with pretty much everything you say and love your commentary but if you are going to do commentary then do your homework.
