WHATTTT?!!!! Ken, you just really zoned me out. The Last Crusade is a FABULOUS movie!!! Sean Connery and Harrison Ford were spectacular together and they rode off into the sunset victorious!! Never should have been any more. But once again, you’re a 90’s kid and can’t appreciate the greatest adventurer in movie history 🤦🏼‍♂️😂

I like the movie a lot but must admit I HATED what Last Crusade did to Marcus. Raiders did not in any way imply the buffoonery on display in LC, and I felt they trashed the character simply for unnecessary laughs. There were other ways they could have done that. There was a slapstick side to the movie some feel was inappropriate - again based on what came before.

@@joes9954 Honestly, when did we ever see anything else from Marcus? That’s obviously the type of person he was. He was a classroom nerd. No outside action at all. He was totally out of his element in Last Crusade, so I’m not really sure what you were expecting 🤷🏼‍♂️🤙🏻

@@garyrichardson475 I get it. I was 15, and i saw it with my dad. It’s a dad and son flick and it instantly became my favorite because of that. The real unfortunate thing about it for me is the bad effects. At least there aren’t any of those in the first two. I love the entire trilogy, so i def won’t argue with you on this one!👍🏻 Notice i said i like the entire “trilogy”😂as all of us real Indy fans know, there are only 3✊🏻

@@Cincinnatis5StarBarber Speaking of 15, I saw the first Raiders when I was that age. It was a preview 1 or 2 weeks before the initial release and no one knew what it was. It was even unclear what the genre of the film was since Lucas and Spielberg had then only been known for science fiction. Seems crazy now, but the theatre was only 1/8 full. It was the most mind blowing action film I had ever seen. I tried to explain to people but they couldn’t understand till they saw it themselves.

My OCD, I want every movie to have its own case. So, all the collections that came in paks or books, I removed and put into standard cases with custom artwork. That type of packaging has the "cool" factor for collectors, but not practical as far as having on shelf and having to pull out to get just one movie.

      @bigmoviefreak 18 дней назад

@@chrisjfox8715 From how I understand it, they probably signed a contract long ago indicating that the artwork will be used in many channels that were available at the time. Bluray didn’t exist back then, and perhaps they’ve forgotten to include a broader term to cover all future physical media formats, or that the artists smartly refused that. Obviously, they’d have to negotiate a new contract, and the artist would certainly demand a little more today in light of all the success the films had already garnered.

Whatever you might think of those movies, they're all visually interesting and should lend themselves to some great artwork for the physical releases, but nope. To make it worse, for the 35th anniversary of Batman 89, they're just re-issuing the steelbook from the awful best buy set with the Batman logo just floating over the most generic city skyline. It is surprising that they didn't give us nice premium Batman or BTTF sets like they could've done. Batman was Warner's bread and butter. It deserved the Superman steelbook set treatment at a minimum. What's so hard about giving us the original poster art for the Batman films?
Where's our DeLorean themed steelbooks? There's so much they could do with BTTF. Hoverboard BTTF 2 cover. And we need a nice 80 page booklet that looks like Gray's Sports Almanac. I could also envision a BTTF 3 steelbook where the slip is Marty "Eastwood's" poncho and you take it off to reveal his "bulletproof vest." All these ideas are off the top of my head as I type. You'd think big companies could do at least that good.

Those are some good ideas for BTTF. Again, could have just gone with the original, iconic posters for all three, but new art done well would have been nice. If you think that your Indiana Jones collection is bad, then I have to tell you I bought my stepfather the bluray collection, and when you open it all, you get is a book type opening and with the movies but when you take the movies out it's hard .it's like you have to pull them out hard and shove them back in, and it just feels horrible to pull and shove them. I feel over time. It may break. And for those of you who read this and go, how much did you pay? Why did you get it .why didn't you sell it .I'll answer those I bought the collection from a pawn shop think if was 19 .probably 20 after tax. The reason I bought was for my stepfather. I was thinking of him .and that's also why I can't sell them they are his . And even if they were mine, I'd probably just keep them. I'd probably just watch a few of them. I'm not a huge fan of the movies.

If I was making this video first up would be those awful Disney 100 silver tin steelbooks, which I have a lot of. The tiny pictures they use on the cover are almost always awful ones. Empire Strikes back has Yoda on it (a Jedi), and Return of the Jedi has Darth Vader on it (the Empire). Kind of got those backwards. The Nightmare Before Christmas one looks horrible compared to it's non-steel counterpart. It's like they go out of their way to find the worst picture to put on the cover. And the way they put together the folds on the sides of the case lead them to break easly. My Beauty and the Beast one already has.
Speaking of Indiana Jones, the Dial of Destiny steelbook is another candidate. The ones for the first four films look great and use the original poster art. But whomever designed Dial decided that what it needed most was a giant hat on the cover. It doesn't even look like Indy's hat.

The Indiana Jones blu ray boxset was atrocious because the discs came in sleeves and were jammed in them tight. It destroyed the Temple of Doom disc.

Ones I own that I dislike - Poltergeist 4k, Evil Dead Groovy Set, and Columbia Classics sets, and the ESPN 30 for 30 set that looks like a ticket. I don't really like those sets too much that I can't shelve regularly. Some may be cool editions, but they take up too much space and aren't shelf friendly for me. I'd totally do a straight trade with someone for the regular Evil Dead 1 & 2 4Ks and Ash vs. Evil Dead standard cases for the Groovy set.

Future video idea: name box sets that have have upgrades, but you can't get rid of for one reason or another. For me, it's Matrix blu-ray box set of all the movies. I have all the movies on 4K now, but I can't get rid of the blu-ray box set (and the space it takes up) because the Animatrix (included) has not been released on 4K yet. I'm sure there are other box sets you have that you want to get rid of but can't for some reason or another.

I hate when they release a collection and just cram the individual posters onto the front cover but I still own a few exaples such as the Austin Powers trilogy and the first three Scary movies. I also hate the re-release art Disney used for Pixar and marvel but I still own copies of Toy Story 2 and Princess and the Frog. I also dislike the art Sony used for the Matilda steelbook, but i didn't own the movie and i wanted the 4k version. I wish they'd just used the original poster. Hopefully I can get rid of most of these soon

Ken, if you thought the Indy case was bad, you should have gotten suckered into the steelbook set…….ALL WHITE STEELBOOKS!!!! I had to have a guy make me some individual cases to cover them. They look like old rental VHS cases that my ugly white steelbooks will fit in.

No mention of the horrifically lazy drab pre-schooler effort by Disney on their 100 years 4k's? You know the silver POS ones that nobody bought?
Some of the laziest piss-poor effort by any company in the history of steelbooks since they have been invented.
Or how about Criterion screwing the pooch on their disastrous 1st 4k release ever with Citizen Kane?
I have a number flimsy boxes, box-sets. Daniel Craig James Bond comes to mind. 007 deserves better.
The first Resident Evil box-set, and Underworld box-sets sucked because outer box was prone to damage.
Special mention for A24 and their 4k sets... Look d*ckweeds... I love your 4k's and you have cool packaging. Can you please make it fit on my GD'mnd shelf please?
Those are some of my nominations.

Hey! I bought all I could when they were marked down to $10. I don't mind them, as they remind me of the Disney Treasures DVDs, but they could've done more with them. I'd have liked them to make those cases somehow look more like 35mm film cans, or if they'd have leaned into that Disney "vault" thing. Classic posters and that kind of simple aesthetic would've been great for me. I am a former projectionist.
