HUNTR is the project we should have started years ago. It's our excuse to work less and hunt more. We're not the world's greatest hunters by any means but we're not afraid to get aggressive and learn from our mistakes. From northeastern whitetails to western muleys, we're dreaming up hunts, putting in for tags, finding ground, and doing everything in our power to get it done.

No offense to either of you guys. I believe you are listening to respond, and not to understand. Therefore, why you can't understand other peoples perspective of why they like to kill young bucks or yearlings. I hope both of you can take a wrap off, slow down, and listen to your quest and not fire off your next opinion while cutting them off. I hope your podcast grows and improves.
Keep us straight Truman! In no way are we knocking people who do it. Just not our style most of the time. That said I had no problem thwacking a 2 year muley on public in NoDak last year. First muley ever and first velvet buck. That said, I’ll be looking to move up age classes this year. It’s just personal growth. I still get the shakes when I shoot a doe, that will never change. I still get the shakes when a spike walks under my stand, I hope that never changes. I just choose to set a high standard, frankly because I don’t want my season to end! - Jeremy
I hunt and fish both pretty serious not on the level of the guys in the video but I think you get what I am saying. In fishing really bass fishing in particular the goal isn't 1 particular fish. My goal near term is a 13 lb bass purely because in my state we have the share lunker program. But ultimately I want to catch a public water body lake record bass. This to me is the equivalent of shooting a 170 public land deer.

The THP crew and other RUclips channels like theirs is by far the best around!!!! They speak to the soul of the average hunter. Red arrow, Bone Collector crowd are fading away. Every episode for them is the next stop at a outfitter that’s trying to get advertisement. If that’s your thing…… go for it. It’s very untouchable for the average hunter. I feel the big TV guys have left the average hunter and probably couldn’t be successful on public ground.
Those guys hunt their butts off for sure!
And I have LEARNED A TON from THP especially Aaron. He's one of the best outdoorsman i have ever seen and I've hunted my whole life and I've watched alot of hunting and in my opinion Warb is at the top of the list followed by Dave Owen's from the pinhoti project, whether it's deer or turkey.

Why the hell do you hunt deer when you don’t like eating deer meat? There’s nothing wrong with being a trophy hunter. Don’t know why you’re trying to pretend you’re not one. Also, your guest is more successful than both of you put together but you aren’t even letting him finish what he’s saying before you start talking about yourself again. Did you only have him on to get more views? Honestly, that’s the only reason why I clicked the video. Couldn’t finish the video after dude on the right said, “I don’t even like eating deer”. What a joke.
Appreciate the feedback Danielle, getting better at the podcast piece. Lots of hunter don’t like deer meat but donate it to needy families
The realism of The Hunting Public is what keeps everyone coming back. I started watching them in 2017 I believe and they had around 10k subs!! I've watched just about every video they have put out and I love everyone of them. To watch them grow like they have is amazing!! It's genuine and that's what we love!

Exactly & thats why. I personally dont like wasting my time watching guys hunt on they're private land managed, trained to stay where the food & shelter is pampered bucks. These deer are big because they are pampered. The Hunting Public is more realistic. & Being successful on big bucks on public land well to me that's very exciting & motivational I'm a Pennsylvania public land hunter myself & let me tell anyone P.A public land is tough...I dont even see private land Deer the same as public land. It's to the point to where a guy kills a buck on private land you know it's going to be a big buck. & to me that is not hunting. I have never once Hunted private land & I don't see anything impressive about it. Not the deer or the skill or anything..

I feel (Zach term I have picked up on😆) that as I’ve aged (now56) turkey has become more prevalent for me as turkey hunting requires less time for the most part and my need for a big turkey is minimal…whereas my parameters for a successful buck harvest are much greater and require much more time. From a THP perspective, turkey content with success, is much easier to acquire more consistently with less time involved than mature buck content. I watch and still rewatch 5 yr old deer content of theirs….awesome podcast guys!!
Grew up hunting in Virginia, I remember having ~10+ family members staying in the family cabin Friday evening for opening day Saturday. Then all being spread over the property and having a ton of shared success. Now it's just 3-4 of us and my brother never got to experience what I did.
Awesome you had Aaron on, love THP and he might be my favorite one of them.

I absolutely am a huge fan of THP and have been for awhile. Got my son on them too. Love the content and how relatable is is and how chill the guys are. Listening to Aaron talk and swear some makes it feel just that more relatable. It makes me feel really confident in my hunting and less stressed on if I’m doing something wrong lol

Lol. My dad's n uncles would spend nights in my home farm house talking about where these bucks were bedding and planning how to succeed. I loved turkey hunting and coyote calling. My dad called turkey just woods chickens and never hunts a coyote just shoots them on site if seen.
THP is awesome and so are you guys my perspective from Michigan is alot of us just simply can't put the time in my dad is 65 I want to walk miles and he can't but the point is to hunt with my dad as long as I can with him. So when a legal buck comes by 200 yards off the 2 track we are lucky it came out lol. So we are gonna shoot it.lol I also understand how that could be weird to somebody that puts alot of time and energy in so I just like hunters and hunting whoever does it. I just respect somebody's spot and get out of there if I see a set up. Thanks guys.

Talking about one of the conversation I hunted a deer for 5 years let him walk three years with many opportunities to kill him and the year I had planned to shoot the buck he was hit by a car that same day I was hunting him!! So I would much rather have seen another hunter kill him than getting hit by a car!!!

It took me 2 years before I saw a deer and longer for turkey and I fell in love with deer hunting. I think it’s personality and kids mental toughness. But I would get left if I wasn’t ready. And I had to get up by myself. And only had a few weekends to rifle hunt

Good podcast guys. Congrats on the nuptials Warb! But I totally disagree at 2:01:20. There is plenty of room for "hunter" shaming, but the problem is that very few of the people who should be ashamed are capable of feeling shame. It comes down to a lack of knowledge in some instances (and I have all the patience in the world for that type of encounter), but I'd say 98% of problems on public and private is a lack of respect for others, the animals, the outdoors, you name it. It's those guys who "claim" a tree or a trail or a cove and then raise hell and call you or me the a-hole when called on it....much less people who are a literal danger to other hunters like in Warb's case during gun season. That guy should be appalled for what he did and shamed every day of his hunting life going forward. I personally think a game warden should've gotten involved in that and put him in the hunter time-out for a couple years. But my point is, there isn't enough shame and enforcement of basic hunter/woodsman ethics/actions by hunters overall because 'It's not worth the hassle.' There are a million ways to hunt a buck or a duck, but there is only one way to do many, many, many things while hunting. I was scouting a piece post-season and happened upon someone - I guess they were hog hunting from a blind - he got my attention, and I got the heck out of that area to let him do his thing....and I was hoping I pushed something his way as I made my loop. Basic.
Great comment Adam, and you are completely right. Honestly, I feel super guilty walking in on public and running into someone set up. It’s just morals that someone beat you to it but you feel bad that you may have interrupted the hunt. Compare that to the guys who blatantly see me, and still set up next to me. There are some bad apples out there, and I can deal with it, but my fear is young and new hunters can’t which forces them out of hunting.

Pro tip-carry jeans and extra clothes in your truck so that when you knock, you take the camo off. The yes % goes WAY up

great podcast. In regards to the high amount of deer in the south could this be because since they’re smaller the environment can handle more of them in regards to their consumption of forage and the biomass they take up?
Good point John, and very possible. For sure more deer space too.
You guys have done a great job with guests and content thus far... Being from Indiana wished you would have pushed in a little harder on what they are looking for when evaluating a State/area to hunt.

As much as I love THP, I'd like to see Aaron do his own show. Still public, but a completely solo style.
