This was an excellent comparison with a *WORLD CLASS* player. I believe that Dignics 09c is as revolutionary a rubber as Tenergy 05 was (I wasn't there) and represents a large step forward. The 09c opens up so many different possible shots due to the grippy surface, high throw angle, and the sponge (hard, yet springy when spinning, and has the feeling of holding onto the ball - as Dima referenced). I find it amazing for backhand flicks, although a little challenging to play forehand flicks (maybe more my own limitation). However, anytime you spin the ball with 09c you feel what it is truly capable of. The long trajectory causes some balls to fly long and requires a more closed angle and forward stroke plane when compared to Tenergy 05 (and most other rubbers in my experience). Flat shots like smashes are not nearly as deadly as with T05 and require adjustments, but the ability to keep the ball short or spin from low or wide more than makes up for it IMO. The biggest point presented in this video that made me try 09c and that I agree with, is that less is more with T05, whereas more is more with Dignics 09c. At 50% power, T05 is already unlocking a lot of its power, whereas at 80-90% there is not a linear increase in power/spin but the chance of mistakes increases. Whereas with 09c, 40-50% is a medium fast/spinny ball and 80-90% is an absolute fireball. Sometimes it seems like the harder you hit the ball when counter-spinning, the better chance it has to go in. The durability seems to be incredible as well. I used to think Dignics 09c was the more challenging rubber relative to T05, but I do not believe that is the case anymore. Love the 09c and this review. Thanks!!!
I quit playing table tennis several year ago, just play on occasionally now for fun now. I've used tenergy 05 the last few years (tried all of the tenergy range, including the fx versions) but I think I'll try the Dignics 09C, time to switch rubbers anyways. Also got a lot more respect for Dimitrij here (not that I was lacking any), it was fun to see a pro player be so interested in new gear and give their opinions on it.
Well, Dan firstly, I do believe dignics09c is a better fit for your game and i believe you d appreciate the rubber more than Tenergy 05. Tenergy 05 is good if you have an amazing technic on short stroke and ability to extract a lot of power in short moves. I ll be honest , I do not see that when you hit the ball with Tenergy on. Dignics on the other hand will force you to use more mechanical power and a longer stroke when you hit (especially in the forehand) It will give you a lot more control and when you give the full stroke it will be winners as well. Consistency-wise Dignics 09c has a tone more control than tenergy than .5 on your ratings. 09c is a killer weapon and I believe a lot of players are realizing it and will realize soon. Both good rubbers but on match points you d rather get more consistency than killer shots that would be off 30 40 percent of the time off the table. Dimitrij is world class and always fun to watch .

@@TableTennisDaily Im eagerly awaiting your comparison of the Dignics 09 / DHS Hurricane National blue sponge.I saw the one you did on the orange sponge.I use orange on my forehand and T05 on my background. At times I do with that the forehand rubber was a bit quicker. So waiting to see your analysis of the national version to see if that may be an option or simply invest in D09 which is quick tacky but quicker than the DHS options.
I've tried the Dignics 09C a few times on friends' rackets. The feeling of control and confidence playing with it is superior to the Tenergy 05. With the Dignics 09C I rarely miss the table. I use a custom hybrid racket, made in Brazil (KWS Cork Carbon) for modern defense. On the forehand it has innerforce carbon. At first I used DHS Goldarc 9 rubber (German), which is almost similar to the Tenergy 05. Then I started using Friendship Battle III, a great Chinese rubber. Anyone knows if it would be a natural progression going from 'Palio CJ8000 Biotech 36-38' to 'Dignics 09c' on both sides? Or is the speed gap to big? If it is, then what would be the middle thing between those 2?
Too big a gap, go for something a bit slower and with more control. The last thing you want is to choose a much faster rubber and then not be able to control the ball on the tabel. Hope this helped :)
@@sajad9384 that's exactly why I needed to know how big the gap is, thanks :) Can you come up with any examples of what would be a middle thing? 'Joola Golden Tango PS'? 'Xiom Vega China'? 'Palio Blitz? Something else? 😅
@@nym053 Well it depends on your price range of course, generally the higher quality and the longer the rubber lasts the more expensive it is. And move on to the dignics version when you feel comfortable. You may realise that you like the tenergy more than the dignics. If so, then go back to tenergy. But after that stick to the final rubber and that will be the rubber you use. Don't go looking for newer rubbers after that because you will probably be confused because of the constant change in rubber. So I would recommend that you start with rozena. Not sure if it is correct or not, i might be wrong though, if you're talking about laws of physics, based on what dima said is that the first 1.5 metre is because of the dwell time of the ball soaking on the rubber, which results in high potential energy stored from the body weight transfer of him to the ball, so after the ball leaves the contact with the topsheet of the rubber, it will result in a bit slower transition power from the body weight to the ball but resulted in higher kinetic energy on the aftermath. Which is why we see the chinese players have so much power on their shots which have similar characteritics for their hurricane rubbers too. Whereas for tenergy it will be vise versa. Because the spring sponge effect makes it harder to grasp the dwell time of the ball on the topsheet compared to the dignics 09c, which resulted in lower potential energy, thus, proves what he said that at 1.5 metres tenergy is faster but then it goes slower..
@@adihakim4663 I think Dima knows what he means but he is using wrong words to describe the effect. What he says makes no sense from physics stand point.
@@AntonyWarmbold in what kind did he said wrong? @@adihakim4663 if it starts slow and then goes faster after 1,5m then there must be a force applied after contact. So what is it? I can only imagine it's magnus effect from very high rate of spin. Otherwise there is nothing in physics to explain what he said. Also he says 09c is softer rubber than Tenergy 05. It's strange because other sources says it's harder.. So one can also wonder if his 09c is the same as the rubber sold to general public.
@@AntonyWarmbold yeah you're right about magnus effect, didn't touch about that in my previous comment, its true, it does affect the speed...because the difference in rotation that is given for both rubbers if you use it at its best..back then tenergy is really good..but now like dima said 09c is more better..when he talks about neutralizing spin like he play xu xin..he was talking about that magnus effect actually..and because of that difference in dwell time between those rubbers it makes a huge difference in how much rotation you can impart to the ball..which results the difference between them..and about the hardness, i think its well known fact already that 09c is much harder then tenergy..but the difference is that the top sheet of 09c is tacky..which makes it more grip and the ball stays longer..also more easier to control the amount of spin you put on the ball or when you want to counter the types of spin the opponent put..cause its less sensitive than tenergy..i agree with you..all the way..many factors to consider really..you can produce with different amount of spin..but to put power its another aspects of it..you can get a wide range from high speed bola with no rotation at all to high amount of spin with slow speed..and also vice versa..which results in power of those shots..
Hey Dan, you have talked about being aware of your opponent when playing in order to catch them out during the rally. However, I find it hard to be aware of my opponent. Do you have any tips, or can you make a video regarding this topic? Thanks A Lot :)
I changed to dignics recently and for me it was an absolute game changer. Way better control than with the tenergy series. Absolute beast in service and return. But you need a good and full motion technique. Some players I know really hated the 09c because they rely on the catapult effect from the tenergy series a lot.
The Dignics is the closest rubber ever to a perfectly boosted DHS Hurricane 3 national. But without the variety in quality and without the need to booster it, straight up one of the biggest achievements ever in table tennis rubber development
I think it has something to do with stroke also. Most euro players use short stroke which baffles me as a spectator while the chinese uses long stroke combined with flick for longest time since liu
Sounds to me Dignics is basically like Hurricane. Slower sponge but sticky top sheet. I'm sure the manufacturing is much more consistent but what's the big deal in performance?

Why most people play Black Side on FH?
Why not play red side on fh?
Is there any difference between red and Black side?
dima becomes even more powerfull! cheer up on olympics
How does it compare to T05 fx ?
Does Dima have some sort of a minor french accent here? He sounded differrently if I recall correctly.
Dan, can we get a training camp series where you try to improve your forehand stroke because it's lacking power? And thanks for the new video.
Something I have always wondered was why do some players only put side tape on parts of the racket and not the whole thing can someone explain for me
They put it only on the sude where they might gonna touch the table and ruin a rubber with a push
Hey Dan, I‘m from germany. Can you take a video to the new Butterfly Aibiss?
I have aibiss on forehand and dignics 09C on backhand. Can you do a review on aibiss please
For a second I thought Dima is the second coming of Wang Hao XD That was ridiculously good haha
did you guys boost the 09c?
Does it fit butterfly viscaria fl?
Can you please review the Joola Dynarz rubbers (ACC and AGR) please
Great review
Pls Review the rasanter r48!!!
is this arag center? kinda looks like it
It would be great if you could review the new DHS-Nittaku Hurricane 3 turbo blue. It seems to be really popular right now
Sounds to me Dignics is basically like Hurricane. Slower sponge but sticky top sheet. I'm sure the manufacturing is much more consistent but what's the big deal in performance?
why does Dima has a Düsseldorf trickot?
