I drove my F87M2c for 3 winters and now on winter #1 in the F87M2cs. Similarly I do not drive them in heavy snow or freezing rain but otherwise get to enjoy year-round driving and have not had any issues with the RWD winter driving.
Love that you're driving the m2 in the winter. I always drive my M cars in the winter, the only thing I do is a good winter set and I spray the rear subframe and some suspension components to protect from rust.
Happy new year to you also. Regarding my hair, I habe to style it while I still have it 😂 I might have a few more years before I have to shave it off 😅
For 3 years I drove a RWD manual 911 in the winter here in Montreal. Although the weight was over the back wheels, which was a plus for me, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the M2 in Ottawa. The worst thing that can happen is you find out you don’t like it and do something different next winter. No doubt though that Audis are king in the winter, but now every drive will be “an event”. 😂
😂😂 I have been pondering the idea of a 911 for winter daily, it’s might be a thing for next winter 😂😂 911s in an S or 4s I hear are epic winter cruisers especially with all that weight over the rear axle. One car to do it all possibly 😃
@@thedevthing You just have to be sure not to mind being a snowplow for everyone else - that lower front skirt takes a beating! 😂 I had PPF’d the whole car before the first winter. My first 911 was a 4S before PPF was really a thing…that lasted only half of the first winter before I threw in the towel. 😬
OK so not sure why you have to sell the RS5. Seems like you can easily afford it but I don't know the situation. Maybe you mentioned it in a video but I missed it. If you could only keep one of the two I'd stick with the actual winter car. Like AWD snow tires you're getting anywhere you need to. If you did want to keep the M2 then you should have just bought wheels and tires for it and sold the ones on the Audi. You want a daily bit you live where it snows a lot. Lol You do say it's fun in the cold weather etc. It's not lol. I've had rwd with snows and it's still sketchy lol. Now you mentioned you have a Macan so you're fine. I just would have gotten a cheap set of wheels and snow tires for the M2. You did so much custom stuff like things aren't easily available
I appreciate the comment 😃 I will be back in a Quattro at some point. I was not diving the RS5 or M2 that much as I work from home. 1. The RS5 is too nice to let it sit outside and rot 😅 I rather someone enjoy it like it did for 4 years 2. I am still enjoying the M2 and I finally have a manual I can daily. I used to drive a Mazda Rx8 manual for 4 years way back when and I used to go snowboarding in it. 3. I habe realized that I am not a car collector. I get anxiety with too much choice 😂
@@curtdragon for sure, I may get winter tires for the stock wheels and run those since I am rubbing in reverse on the front driver side. I have never done something like this before with the lug nuts. I will inspect it after a few drives and go to the stock wheels at some point 😃
Damn why get rid of the rs5? He’s it compare. I have an 2022 S4 and I’m looking at g80 m3 or new m2 or maybe a used rs5. I def want more power but like them all. Even the x3M. I can only afford one of them though
Ok sorry you had it 4 years and wanted something new. Got it. New to your channel and situation. I love my s4. I’ve had 3 S cars in a row so thinking switch it up to bmw
@CashMoneyKC1 I did the same. I had the S5, S4 and then the RS5. I really wanted a manual and so I thought it was time to go to a manual M2. I will likely get back into another RS5 in the future. It’s one of my fav audi designs 😃🙌
This is good Prabhul If it was me, drop off the side and rear aerodynamics for reinstall cone Summer… I think the snow/slush/ice pack will hurt them, it isn’t about ground clearance per se, just worried they get knocked around And I’d look into a small chin guard to get painted or fins is he fit match those winter wheels, just to put that colour in one or two other places. But that’s my eyes. I’m so OEM with my own cars that even the brochure says I’m boring. Looking forward to seeing more and I totally think it’ll be a fine winter machine, and will make people smile. So dope!
Thank you Eric 😃 Appreciate the support. The side skirt and rear fin are suck on with 3M tape. I think I am being lazy to remove them 😅 For the chin guard, do you mean like a mud guard or you mean on the front bumper?
So you have a Porsche GTS4, a macaan gts, can absorb just 4 months of depreciation on an Audi RS5, bought a new M2, and are trying to save money on fresh winter tires? That's hilarious. You must have insane wealth. 😂
I think you will be fine. I live in the Toronto area and have a G87 also. I do have an M240i that I use in the winter, but before the 240 I had a manual RWD 235i. It was good in the winter, with snow tires. Starting off on a hill was always interesting, but once you get going, BMW’s are so well balanced. Your car looks great, enjoy. Was also wondering… approximately how much was it to get the Edelweiss rims shipped to Ottawa, from Germany. I have been thinking about getting them in the summer perhaps. Safe driving…

Wow an M2CS as a daily, that’s awesome. Life is also simpler when you have less choice in regards to cars 😅
The anxiety is real

Jesus....that seems like a disaster waiting to happen. Spacers and 5 wheel bolt adapters on every wheel? Good luck with that sketchy AF setup.
Thank you 😂
LOL - better to live life on the edge man.
Agreed lol
I am getting old man, I need something to feel young again 😂😂😂
Loved that rs5! Great video!
Same, it was hard to let it go. But it needed to be done 😅

makes sense. Just don't agree with all the custom modding. I feel like the spacers and the lugs are going to cause a problem
