Awesome vid. For a purist driver’s car, this is ideal. As an owner of a 2022 GR86 manual, I don’t think the comparisons are fair (4 cyl NA vs twin turbo 6). And remember, the Supra has either BMW engines in either a turbocharged B48 2.0-litre inline-four or a turbocharged B58 3.0-litre inline-six.

idrive 6, there is no idrive 7 for the g87
Super interesting vidéo. Thanks for all the informations. I'm seriously looking after this first M2 and your video help me in my future choice. Even in the other side of the world (Belgium... you see? where beer and fries are so good 😜), I send you a big thank you to create a serious subject and no, as other -and many- vidéo, a M2 drifting on track all long the subject...
I’ll take the m240i cabrio over the standard M2…
90% of the car, topless motoring and softer suspension. More useable everyday.
M lite handle badly enough without chopping the roof off! 😂
@@Chris-nj1mr yup… more useable everyday. Not as harsh as the full M spec. Compromised to make it more accessible. I’m not a racing driver and wouldn’t track this sort of car, so the 240i suits me better.
it is actually real exposed carbon fibre in the interior trim!
Go on Adz get yer bum into an M3 Competition Wagon :) Also laughed way to hard at the backwards chat....
Please do a review of the VW Scirocco
yeah i would like to see that
Believe me, get one!
What would you have between a used OG BMW M2 or a new GR86/BRZ since they are in similar price ranges?
M2, no doubt, it’s not even close. I’m a competent DIY’er though and don’t need the comfort of a new car warranty.
How can you adore an AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION car!?!
They're objectively better. But they lack engagement, soul, character, fun and all sorts of other subjective terms 😅 Manual all the way for me.
@@Chris-nj1mr they are not objectively better. What are they better at, and don't say shifting, because that's not correct.
@AnnatarTheMaia they're faster, more economical and far easier to live with in cities etc.
@@Chris-nj1mr they are not faster, as both I and Randy Pobst have proved (and even if they were, SO WHAT!), and I drive my manual transmission cars in traffic jams four out of five times per week, it's no worse than an automatic, and the automatics are definitely not more economical because they shift at wrong times... when I told an automatic to upshift it told me "shift denied", even though it would have been more economical and the engine could have taken it just fine... you really need to start wrenching on cars, but not like an amateur but like an engineer. That includes writing firmware for those stupid automatics, too. Then you'll know and understand what the actual truth is.
@@AnnatarTheMaia The manual is the best but like he said is it worth 16k more? Not for a track toy and I hare duct never had one but going this route as you can get a good deal, no it won’t hold value but having all models in manual the e93 is not fun to operate manual e46 yes. Hey imma give it a shot. Yolo.
That car is a weapon! Of course it is dangerous and risky to own. But.... you have weapon!
Great review. Keep it up :)
do these gen M2s still get sticky plastics?
Any details on the red calipers?
Best car I’ve ever owned ❤
Do a review on Holden VE SV6
i'm no BMW fan, but the M2 is indeed the best car they currently produce.
The side angle is a bad angle. The care looks stubby.
OG M2 is awesome
I have one and I LOVE IT
It was a good times for m2. I can't even look at new ones, it gives me soar eyes
How does it compare to the same era M3/4?
More twitchy with the shorter wheelbase and more fun I’d say. But the m3/4 have a better interior and are in a different league when it comes to performance. They have more presence on the road too.
Have one, have had nothing but issues with it but is covered under warranty still - dealer is being absolute fuckwits about it however when it is working, probably one of the most fun cars I’ve had. Saying something when it is car #39 that I’ve had.
Genuinely hope the issues are resolved because I do not want to get rid of it, smiles per mile is off the chart.
YES
Personally I’d prefer an older 1 series M coupe, manual
Horrible advertising
it sounded german when you were talking English backwards lol!!!
@ 5:17
Ummmm
“it’s not real carbon - carbon fabric?”
News alert:
it’s is real carbon what bmw call raw carbon.
So it’s practically carbon fibre without the reinforced plastic or injected mould
So it’s just the carbon weave tighten together …
Thanks for the info!
It’s fabric. So yo don’t get a moth full of carbon when the air bag deploys 😝
Awesome vid. For a purist driver’s car, this is ideal. As an owner of a 2022 GR86 manual, I don’t think the comparisons are fair (4 cyl NA vs twin turbo 6). I think it’s more in the league with the Z, Supra, Golf R, and A or CLA AMGs. So, if I was to upgrade from my GR86, the M2 F87 would be the pick. And remember, the Supra has either BMW engines in either a turbocharged B48 2.0-litre inline-four or a turbocharged B58 3.0-litre inline-six.
Many people have warned me to never buy a Euro car and under no circumstances buy a used Euro.
after all these years bmw is still doing the same gaskets leak.why?poor engineering?thank you very much, what a nightmare.
review bmw 440i's
Do the indicators work?
Shit joke and you clearly didn't watch the video 🙄
You'll need to pay a monthly fee to have them on your car
Just get the G42 M240 for that money
Cool car, but I pass on owning one, BMW aren't reliable and shouldn't be classified as luxury, for that reason
Oil leaks and BMW go hand in hand. This has been a BMW issue for 20 years now, and they still can't fix it.
BMW M2: "with great power, comes great responsibility"
Actually, the best M3 in history is the a 1st gen M2
I hate you for making this video, prepare for used M2 prices to go up even more :(.
The m2 is the new e46m3
Hard to tell if if u really like it😂
Gr Yaris is the way to go at this price point, if you can get one
Noiled it
Used M2 would have been driven HARD- terrible idea as a used purchase.
Abuse and driven is 2 different things
GR86....
Goodluck finding one.
lol just under 6 mins of what goes wrong
16.1 economy is awful
~17.6 is norm within 15km radius (CBD)... It's a car destined for open road and circuits, not city traffic anyway, it's a waste to drive it daily commute city traffic.
My 2018 v8 manual stang gets high 12L/ 100kms
Mind you that’s not city driving but still 17 is crazy 😂
@@matthewrobertson2279If I don't have a NA GH Mazda5 2.5L NA + 5AT as a daily drive for myself (running 12.5~13.8L/100km) in same driving / traffic condition, I wouldn't believe the figure I saw...
YES! Amazing content. We're getting closer - this is a German car. But still not an Audi S1, c'maaaaaaaaaaaaaan
Thats real raw carbon fiber you noob 😹
Yeah,, looks fantastic (unlike the fugly new ones.. wtf?), I’ve had enough European cars to realise I should NOT buy one.
The only way to make it better is to make it a convertible
Option 1: new Suboyota, call it 5yr 100k km warranty, backed by companies with decent reputations.
Option 2: 6yo 70k km BMW, no warranty, built with plastic stuff we all know decays, but saves BMW a few $$$.
Not even close, unless you're rich, but then why on earth are you buying a well-used BMW anyway? Nah. Nope.
I'd see at Option 1 & just suck it up.
Unsubscribed for the gratuitous use of Jesus
Jesus was used?
first time ever.. I JUST SKIPPED TO WHAT GOES WRONG. yep I knew it. IT IS A $99.500 German joke
