Hi! I've seen your tutus on pinterest, I'm currently looking for inspiration for my prom dress. I'd really like to put Ribbon on the ends of my tulle circle skirt, but I'm afraid that the ribbon will be too heavy so that the skirt will be pulled down. What do you think? Will it affect the look of the skirt?
+Sunny Hi Sunny! The ribbon is heavier than the tulle, so it would hold it down a bit. It would still be beautiful, though. :) Great idea!
Thank you for your answer! I decided to put more layers of tulle in my skirt and only ribbon trimm the very first layer, so it still looks puffy!

I'm just curious if you have tried to sew the ribbon to the tulle strips before you put the tutu together?
Hi Kylee! We have not tried that. It just makes it easier to put the tulle on first, and then sew it. But, you can definitely try sewing the ribbon to the strips first. If you do....please let us know how it works! :) Have a wonderful day!

Hi chicamiel81! Sewing it on is definitely the best way to make sure the ribbon will stay. However, you could try using our "Stitch Witchery", which is where you would basically iron it on. Can i directly sew the ribbon onto the tulle then after cut it on my desired length so it would be convenient to do it?? i want to know if it is possible thank you.
Hi Jereden! You could sew the ribbon on the tulle first, but you would have to do a different type of waist. You would need to sew a "casing" around the top of the tulle and thread the elastic through the top once you've sewn the ribbon on the tulle. I hope that helps. Have a wonderful day!

+viviane mendes Hi Viviane! Our spool comes on a 6" x 25 yard spool, so you would want to get at least 2 spools. If you want it fuller, then you would want to get another one. The skirt size is for a 0 to 6 month baby. Hope that helps! Have a great day!

to do the ribbon trim is it easier to only do one layer of tule when making the tutu or two?
Hi Amanda! One layer is definitely easier because it will be half the time sewing on the satin ribbon. But if you want it fuller, then two layers is the way to go. The tutu in this tutorial was being used for a one year old who wasn't standing on her own yet which is why I went with one layer. Making a tutu using a crochet headband (or crochet by the yard) is a great way to get a super full tutu since you can do two layers really easily. When using just an elastic waist, you can double the tulle in each knot, it just will sit differently than using a crochet headband for the waist. Have fun!

Hi Christa! We have a similar tutorial available. Not the exact headband. The one in this video is made with fold over elastic as the headband part. Here is a link to a tutorial we have with a metal headband.
