Yup, it's always worth asking. Unfortunately for me, every neighbor on my street except one has a landscape company mowing and up keeping their yards... well thanks for watching
Watering for multiple days would definitely help. I aerated an area that hadn't been watered, and the cores were a lot smaller and almost didn't work in that area. Well, thanks for the comment, and thanks for watching
Best in the fall but it will help in the spring if you have some bare spots and the soil is really compacted. It's definitely worth doing. I always like to put down some seed after. Thanks for watching
Usually that means there's not enough weight, if your soil is really compacted it can resist the tines. The only way to get through that is lots of weight. You could try putting some exercise weights, sandbags, or anything heavy on it to weigh it down, just make sure you can strap it on well enough that it doesn't fall off.
Yes. When I rented it, they checked the oil and made sure it was all set. Then, they filled the gas tank completely full. I was told I had to return it with the same amount of gas.
@MichaelKaufman-v6u it's a Ryan Lawnaire IV aerator. I rewatched the video I didn't notice anywhere referring to it as 5'21". Well, thanks for watching
@@onesimpledad I couldn't understand what you described the aerator to be at the 5 min, 21 second mark in to the video. After watching it again, I think you said "turn and go"?
Yes, I said, "Turn and go"... which is the style of aerator. No stopping to lift tines to turn just make wide turns and go. Makes the job go a whole lot faster.
lol. Or just hire someone for the same cost as renting and let them do a good job. You waste your own time and money and fuel for the same cost someone else with a machine will do it for.
Well, none that's normal for me. I try to speak slowly and clearly. So everyone can understand. I also try to keep all my videos short and get right to the point and not waste anyone's time. Well, thanks for watching.
Always let your neighbors know you'll be renting one. That way you can split the cost and have help unloading and loading.

Exactly what I was looking for. Much more detail than HD’s video. thanks!
Great video, thank you for sharing it.
You're welcome, and thanks for watching
Thank you for video.Hows your lawn looking post aeration?
Is your lawn has uneven areas like mine, you can also use the cores and a lawn leveling rake to even out those spots.
Thank you mr Rogers
You're welcome ... and I'll take that as a compliment since Mr. Roger's was a great man. Well, thanks for watching
Water the lawn thoroughly for three days prior to aerating helps too.

@@onesimpledad I live in an urban are. My neighbor and I are splitting the cost, and use! Our lawns are much smaller than yours.
Before I aerate, I make sure to move to a new house, new construction and secure newly sodded lawn.
Very helpful video thanks
You're welcome, and thanks for watching

Very helpful thank you
Glad it was helpful! And thanks for watching
Very informative. TY
@songsinschool thanks for the feedback, and thanks for watching
Great video. Thanks 🙏🏽
I'm glad you like it and thanks for watching
Is this significantly better than a tow behind aerator? My tow behind seems like it doesn’t penetrate quite well enough

Worth getting a lawn sweeper and picking up those cores. Otherwise, they just lie on your lawn and keep the grass from growing.
Thanks for the comment... I leave all the cores, and it seems to work well, almost like adding a new layer of top soil. We'll thank you for watching
Did it come with gas and oil in it already?
Yes. When I rented it, they checked the oil and made sure it was all set. Then, they filled the gas tank completely full. I was told I had to return it with the same amount of gas.
You referred to the aerator at 5'21" as what kind of aerator? And is this the Ryan Lawnaire IV model?

Were can I rent the aerator
I got mine from Homedepot, but you can always google search... where to rent an aerator near me.

im sad to see this
Well, cheer up and I hope you have a better day. Thanks for watching
Why wpuld a helpful aerating video make you sad?
And exactly how much Valium did you take before you narrated this? Lots and lots I bet....

And you do a good job of it. Very well done. Excuse the comedian. Some people always want to giggle.
