Great video and your lawn definitely looks better than mine lol. I currently pay $100 a year for Fairway Lawns to aerate. The bermuda that’s on level ground grows well, but I can’t figure out a way to help the bermuda on the steep grade to grow.. any advice? Besides aerating, how else to I get water retention?

I have a lawn that is seriously compacted, and is heavily water logged in spots, so much so that it has impacted hedging that is at the edge of that section. I estimate maybe only 50 percent of the seed that went in actually took so it’s extremely thin. I am planning on aerating in march. Would aerating and overseeding help the drainage and actually help my lawn to grow? It looks yellowish and only really grows thick in some spots!😢

It appears you left a lane open for the wheels when you aerated with the core adapter? Did you leave it open or did you make another pass to have those covered? Or did you remove the cores then make a pass over the wheel area?

I understand that with spike aeration you would be improving oxygen and water access to the top layer of your lawn, but wouldn’t it actually cause increased impaction (though possibly very minimal) or at the very least you wouldnt be getting de
    compaction benefit

Solid tines totally help compaction… idk where this myth cam from but if you take a single sharp metal pole, drive it into the ground and take it out… then drive it into the same place it will be easy. Just like itll be easier for water and air to get down there so i think solid tines help with compaction more than people admit. Especially if the spikes give the ground a little lift like you would with a turning fork. Sorry for the rant its just i hear it all the time yet no one every tries it or has evidence that solid tines are soooo bad 🤣
