Marine Mom here and it's never easy to hear this song but with love and respect thanks to everyone who understands what it is like to have to watch you child come home like this.
Dear: "Marine-Mom", Thank you for raising your boy, to vallue: honor curage, commitment and patriotism. -- you did a first rate job. As a father of 2 young children, I hope I can do as good a job as you did. Respectful John Dundon
I love this song. Especially with the tower cuts added. Anyone who has ever lost buddies in war has a close relationship with this song and the "Angel Flight" crews. God bless them. Nam vet.
I almost took this flight. Thanks to SSgt Larry Smyth and the Army doctors. I remember that day like it was yesterday. Brother Smyth. I'll see you on the other side. 1st.Lt. Michael MADDIN.
Lost my best friend in 1992 never a day goes by that I don't think about Steven Gunter miss you brother Love you!!! Thank you all for your services and sacrifices! We love and respect our awesome military in Marion Nc!!! We all praying for our new soldier friend we met and helped December 20 th 2019!! God bless you Sergeant Hendricks and all your men by your side!come back soon!!!
God bless to you all, thank you for your service to all who have served.New Zealand may be a long way a way however least we forget. Between heaven and earth you all should never be alone were ever you are.🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿
Mr. Radney Foster, and Mr. Darius Rucker... Ugghh, this song has touched my heart so much, my eyes sweat everytime I listen! Thank you so much for producing and performing this song. My eyes have not stopped "sweating". My Father, a U.S Army Veteran passed away 12-June-18 whom was so dedicated to his country, and always told me that serving was his greatest honor. On behalf of me and, my entire family.. Thank you for this song!! Rest easy Sar'nt R.E.M, your job is done. Forever missed, never forgotten.
I volunteer at my local USO and as a Mom, I see the faces of my daughter and sons reflected in every soldier that comes through our spot. It makes my heartache. I hope to eventually train to be on the Angel/Honor flight team for my USO location. If I can be a strong shoulder for a grieving family, it's another way to serve those who serve.
I have no idea the pain you suffer. I am so sorry that you have had to deal with this once. I don't know if I would have been strong enough to deal with it twice. I pray that you find comfort in your grief with the memories of your children who are no longer here. God bless you in your grief and sorrow.
Such a gorgeous song. Can't hold the tears back. I am so proud to be an American...born here and have never left her shores. God bless the ones who served and gave their lives for the precious freedoms we enjoy. We are forever in their debt...they are forever in our hearts.
I am a Vietnam veteran of the 5th Marines 2/1 at An Hoa in Quang Nam Province. In the 1970's when the American people pulled their support from under us and made us pull out it totally rendered every death we suffered needless and without purpose. And now, in 2021, the American government has done exactly the same thing to our heroes of the Gulf War and Afghanistan. Yes, our allies can totally rely on the American military. But they are fools to rely on the American people or government now. My heart breaks for the loss of who we used to be.
71~72 Light Attack Squadron Four Mekong Delta supported you guys on the ground. I can’t agree with you more. Our weapons we left knowing their government couldn’t / wouldn’t keep them WILL be used against us at sometime in the future. 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. - John 15:13 (King James Version) Remember on this Memorial Day, the true cost of that which you cherish. All gave some, some gave all...
I have John 15:13 tattooed on my forearm in honor of my son and all my brothers in arms. My greatest and worst memory was getting to spend two days in Germany with my son as he was deploying to Afghanistan for his second time as I was rotating home from my final deployment ever. Two weeks after I retired we got word my son was Killed by an IED. Since 9/11 I have lost 31 brothers and 1 son.
I miss my friend Matt Morin, Para rescue. Commited suicide , for he was so broken. 22 a day. Its not right for that to happen in the greatest country the world has known
This seems a bit of a harsh comment for a song about something very special. You're correct, but there's much much to the story. Please read this: americanwarriorradio.com/2016/08/radney-foster-angel-flight/
