I spooled it with 8 LB test mono for lighter lures, gave it some practice casts and found that it did cast well ruclips.net/user/postUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e , except that the anti-backlash setting had to be turned up almost all of the way to keep the "overcasts' ' down. I disassembled it, and found that if I potted some "shim washers" behind that anti-backlash magnet assembly, it got the magnets closer to the spool without rubbing, and I could get better control with about a 6 to 7 out out 10-Max setting. I also noticed that the handle shaft had some internal end play, maybe only 2 or 3 thousands of an inch, but it's still noticeable. If the anti-backlash and shaft tolerances were "tightened up" this would be a fantastic value. I've only used it for 4 days of fishing in a month's time, but I plan on keeping it.
Well, I got to give my two cents worth. I bought a Quantum KVD Smoke S3 Baitcaster 7 to 3 and a KVD Smoke S3 6 to 1. $199.00 reel's. For $99.00. Yes $99.00. They are slashing the prices on these awesome reel's. I buy mine at Van Dam Warehouse. Been looking at The Smoke S3 HD baitcaster as a back up. But they are only $30.00 off of the $199.00. Will keep waiting. Shawn.
The only one any good here is the Shimano DC, rest are just plain trash. I got two Shimano Scorpion DCs, even better than the Curado DCs, but before that I used so many of these other junks, that I literally took it off my fishing pole and threw them in the river - a rightful place where they belong.
I just started watching this video. I am going to say if you need a dang computer so you can throw a baitcast reel without getting a backlash you need to go back to a close face spinning reel. This is stupid.
@@TheTravelingFisherman I am 60 years old been throwing bait cast reels most of my life. So why change now. it's the young bucks that need everything made easy for them that will use something like this.
@@GeorgeT6566 the future is now old man. It’s convenient to be honest. I’m 19 and I’ve used my Johnny Morris baitcaster since I started 2 years ago. I get that it helps the younger people who wanna be cool and not understand what it’s like to suffer with backlash. But if I were to fish for pan with 20 pound braid, that’s convenient with how less the bait weights. If you got the money go for it, your fishing will show if your daddy’s money or not.

@SilentDiablo absolutely correct basically a curado just different look
Or, learn glue to use a Baitcaster and you don’t need a dc

@@TheTravelingFisherman Nope and I am sure I want ever
@@GeorgeT6566 that's what I figured, that's a typical response generally from someone who's never tried one
