Saints Row 3 was a *massive* upgrade over 2. If SR2 was my entry point to the franchise, I'd have uninstalled it after an hour or two. Full of bugs, dumb mechanics, and terrible dialogue/character interactions that sounded like they were written by a five-year-old. I only finished it to get more backstory for SR3, which in comparison was pure joy to play - super well optimized, with tons of customization, actually likeable characters, and great humour. I will never understand people who worship SR2.

My friend pre-ordered SR3 and we skipped school the day it came out and got baked and played it all day lol, i bought that and the 4th, and i just recently bought the 3rd remastered. It's fun, but when you compare to how gta went from 4 to 5, saints row couldve done more to improve the games. Its fun but not that fun.
Saints row the third is pretty bad honestly. I went back and replayed it and the gameplay, world and story leave so much to be desired. The world is empty and there isn’t much to do and the gameplay and customization devolved from SR2. It’s also very short and all the characters lack character development.

I loved 3 and 4, they were my entry to the series. I felt like GTA got way too full of itself and lost the craziness that made it fun, but Saints Row retained that and expanded on it. By the end of the 3rd you were basically a superhero, so when they fully leaned into it with the 4th, I thought that was great fun. I went back and tried to play the 2nd, never could really get into it. The new one came out during that time when woke was just being pushed mercilessly into everything at first with no blowback and I noped it out. I've since picked it up for free through PSN and STILL haven't loaded it up to play. It's a shame, it would've been really great to see the series continue growing. Honestly even if they just released it as a superhero game, the wall running in 4 made me long for a Flash game. It's a great get wasted and have fun video game.

In the bag was black ops 2 and saints row the 3rd with a brand new gold ps3 controller 🤣 yeah I was late to the ps3 but it was so much fun because online was free and a lot of people still played at the time. I got to replay fallout 3, Oblivion, and it's the first time I played battlefield. I played battlefield 3 and hardline so much online. I had bought gta 4 as well and the HD collection of silent hill 2 & 3. I need to buy another one. Because I still have a lot of those games.

My theory, we are personally stuck in Zinyak’s nightmare simulations, and from time to time, our characters and sometimes Neenah becomes self aware. One scene in the mission where we storm Marshal, in the elevator Neenah responds to Eli with “In court? We’re criminals!” Becoming self aware like something isn’t right.
Yeah I got it ultra cheap and was pleasantly surprised. It’s not amazing and sr2 is much better but it’s certainly not much worse then 3 or 4. Story wasn’t great but again not much worse then 3. Eli is the only character I felt was off story wise and not just cus of his appearance, he’s supposed to fill Kinzies role and just doesn’t. Kinzie also works because they meet up with her coincidentally whereas Eli is in the group without explanation. If the group was struggling financially and not knowing how to optimise their money and needed someone on top of that and the protagonist knew Eli from Marshall who also got screwed over, that would worked better.
Played this a few months back when Epic gave it away for free. The multiplayer is beyond broken. Tried to play through the game with a buddy and ran into nonstop issues
Not really. I say that SR4 brought the end of the franchise. SR1 holds bad graphics, a game franchise cant continue with such graphics in other games, however, SR2 and SR3 have the graphics we deserve for a game. Gameplay of SR3 is genious . From SR4 , it became cursed in my point, they didn't know what to add further so they invented the idea of aliens. In the moment when you add the idea of aliens into a game, you need to make everything fictional, just like they did in SR4. Lets be serious, SR4 is literally Matrix with another face and different enemy (in this case, Zin empire). Gat out of hell is just another game broken by the fact they could not think of what to add further, when you invent all type of idiotic robots & aliens in a game about mafias and gangs, the only thing left to add is God and hell. And this new game has nothing to do with the last games , neither changes the role of the main characters as promised in the Johny Gat game, neither continues the last one with a new idea, it makes it worse.

For me I think this game has a lot of replay value, as in general it is fun for players who enjoy doing side content over anything else, but I understand the hate it gets as it will never be a true Saints Row game.
I really like the desert environment. I got the game last week for $5 so IMO, if they didnt sell this for $70 at release, i think it would have been received much better.
There is a clear demand for games like this though, I wish something new was made to fill the gap. That is a bit more fun and less serious than GTA so not direct competition, but does not get as silly as the later Saint's Row games either. Where you get to take out rival gangs and take over the city with your gang. For a new game it could be fun if you could have a lot more say about your gang, like maybe be able to pick between several names, gang colours and give your gang more of an identity. Maybe also get some choices, be able to change the city more. Like there could be various locations through the city where you can pick what kind of business you put there. Would help with that gang identity too as well as the city identity. Maybe there could be a whole run down part of the city that you can renovate, a shithole you grew up in that you can turn into the finest area of the city, that would give a sense of progress.
the sequel to this had the potential to be as good as the og sr2, but we never got that because ‘fans’ threw a temper tantrum and now we don’t get anything.
This reboot is one reason that I don’t want Cloud Chamber to develop Bioshock 4. I had really good memories of Saints Row 1-4 and the reboot is just so bad imo so it’s not „existing“ for me. I hope Bioshock 4 won’t ruin the Trilogy like the reboot ruined the whole Saints Row brand.
1. lack of freedom in mission, example you prepared a tank or a helicopter it won't let you , 2. they remove the abilities the best part of saint row, unli ammo , unli heath , instead they put very useless skill and perks which lack of slots 3. i hope they add unli flight on wingsuit and built in grappling hook, 4. availability of tanks, helipads, at least can we call a helicopters 5. last is the takedown its a f@#!king crap, timers really
I have the game and I completed the walk-through just in 2 days and a half, that's really short and disappointing.. There's so many glitches, even though they fixed alot but they're still more and more for each passing minute when you play.. The graphics is not too bad but it's not very good either, especially when you're in driving a car or something.. The side missions are very fun and varied, this is the only good thing in the game, but everything else is bad.
Called it back in 2010 with SR3 People didn’t want to listen & had every rebuttal. Now the series is gone 🥱 Took people more than a decade to understand the importance of keeping a video games identity consistent. but maybe they’ll learn for other game series. Probably not
I did 9 hours today and completed the game, then all of a sudden I was on a side quest and it kicked me to my Xbox Home Screen so I loaded saints row up, and apparently nothing saved so I did 9 hours grind for nothing, absolutely mad about the none auto saves!!!!
Gameplay and story were the biggest complaints. Graphics were passable. But man in the old saints I’d just upgrade the character to super hero status and fly around the map at least in 3 forward.
Saints Row reboot sadly got the worst possible straw imaginable. Volition was more limited to what they could do. A similar situation happened with Dead Rising 4. Which also oddly caused the death of a franchise. This game was simply too in the box to stand out just like Dead Rising 4. In most possible ways, the absolute worst Saints Row game. Even Gat Out of Hell that had much less content was a better game than this. 100% completion wise, it's a lot of work that's ultimately not worth doing. Achievement hunting wise, it's simply not an enjoyable experience. We could argue some game play stuff it technically does better than GTA V. Regardless comparing this to the original or Saints Row IV, it loses badly to both greater Saints Row games. Saints Row reboot had some interesting concepts. It's how they were executed that really took away from the overall experience. The radio is mostly meh, I rather listen to a handful of songs or have the radio turned off. Customization is a little limited but alright. DLCs wise is a huge disappointing mess. You know your DLCs suck when your best one is a continuation of the larping missions!!! Expanding the map was done horribly too. Easily the most disappointing map in the entire series. I know some criticize Saints Row: The Third Remastered in technical aspects. In all honestly that's a way better game than this too. The game quickly felt rushed out as well as very uninspired. They wanted to reboot such an iconic franchise in a rather distasteful way. The story is easily the worst in the series, not even worth debating over. The combat is also hands down the worst in several ways. We waited so long for this!!! I rather play Garry's Mod with some ridiculous mods than this. Also that game by itself is a lot cheaper with mods within Steam workshop being free. Saints Row reboot is best left forgotten, Postal 4 eventually came back through it's update making this game's failure stand out even more!!!

I really enjoying playing it but its lacks the detail of Saints Row 2, the npcs on how they acted, the felt alive, the city being packed with details and the story.
I had played the game in 2023 And I enjoyed it just like I enjoy all seen trail games. But I guess I am kinda guy who just played the game to finish the mission and then complete it and then put On the shelf, for the rest of eternity, I don't really go back and play Saint trio games, but that's maybe why this game I didn't mind, because it was the easiest game to complete out of this. If the group was struggling financially and not knowing how to optimise their money and needed someone on top of that and the protagonist knew Eli from Marshall who also got screwed over, that would worked better.

Not really. I say that SR4 brought the end of the franchise. SR1 holds bad graphics, a game franchise cant continue with such graphics in other games, however, SR2 and SR3 have the graphics we deserve for a game. Gameplay of SR3 is genious . From SR4 , it became cursed in my point, they didn't know what to add further so they invented the idea of aliens. In the moment when you add the idea of aliens into a game, you need to make everything fictional, just like they did in SR4. Lets be serious, SR4 is literally Matrix with another face and different enemy (in this case, Zin empire). Gat out of hell is just another game broken by the fact they could not think of what to add further, when you invent all type of idiotic robots & aliens in a game about mafias and gangs, the only thing left to add is God and hell. And this new game has nothing to do with the last games , neither changes the role of the main characters as promised in the Johny Gat game, neither continues the last one with a new idea, it makes it worse.

For me I think this game has a lot of replay value, as in general it is fun for players who enjoy doing side content over anything else, but I understand the hate it gets as it will never be a true Saints Row game.

I really like the desert environment. I got the game last week for $5 so IMO, if they didnt sell this for $70 at release, i think it would have been received much better.
There is a clear demand for games like this though, I wish something new was made to fill the gap. That is a bit more fun and less serious than GTA so not direct competition, but does not get as silly as the later Saint's Row games either. Where you get to take out rival gangs and take over the city with your gang.
For a new game it could be fun if you could have a lot more say about your gang, like maybe be able to pick between several names, gang colours and give your gang more of an identity.
Maybe also get some choices, be able to change the city more. Like there could be various locations through the city where you can pick what kind of business you put there. Would help with that gang identity too as well as the city identity.
Maybe there could be a whole run down part of the city that you can renovate, a shithole you grew up in that you can turn into the finest area of the city, that would give a sense of progress.

This reboot is one reason that I don’t want Cloud Chamber to develop Bioshock 4. I had really good memories of Saints Row 1-4 and the reboot is just so bad imo so it’s not „existing“ for me. I hope Bioshock 4 won’t ruin the Trilogy like the reboot ruined the whole Saints Row brand.

I have the game and I completed the walk-through just in 2 days and a half, that's really short and disappointing.. There's so many glitches, even though they fixed alot but they're still more and more for each passing minute when you play.. The graphics is not too bad but it's not very good either, especially when you're in driving a car or something.. The side missions are very fun and varied, this is the only good thing in the game, but everything else is bad.

Saints Row reboot sadly got the worst possible straw imaginable. Volition was more limited to what they could do. A similar situation happened with Dead Rising 4. Which also oddly caused the death of a franchise. This game was simply too in the box to stand out just like Dead Rising 4. In most possible ways, the absolute worst Saints Row game. Even Gat Out of Hell that had much less content was a better game than this. 100% completion wise, it's a lot of work that's ultimately not worth doing. Achievement hunting wise, it's simply not an enjoyable experience. We could argue some game play stuff it technically does better than GTA V.
Regardless comparing this to the original or Saints Row IV, it loses badly to both greater Saints Row games. Saints Row reboot had some interesting concepts. It's how they were executed that really took away from the overall experience. The radio is mostly meh, I rather listen to a handful of songs or have the radio turned off. Customization is a little limited but alright. DLCs wise is a huge disappointing mess. You know your DLCs suck when your best one is a continuation of the larping missions!!! Expanding the map was done horribly too. Easily the most disappointing map in the entire series.
I know some criticize Saints Row: The Third Remastered in technical aspects. In all honestly that's a way better game than this too. The game quickly felt rushed out as well as very uninspired. They wanted to reboot such an iconic franchise in a rather distasteful way. The story is easily the worst in the series, not even worth debating over. The combat is also hands down the worst in several ways. We waited so long for this!!! I rather play Garry's Mod with some ridiculous mods than this. Also that game by itself is a lot cheaper with mods within Steam workshop being free. Saints Row reboot is best left forgotten, Postal 4 eventually came back through it's update making this game's failure stand out even more!!!
