People in these comments can't seem to grasp it's a long running stage musical and it updates and choreography changes, bits have been added and/or taken away and some bits weren't included in the movie but have always been in the musical. It's not a remake of the movie.
I took my girlfriend to see this last night at Wimbledon... i was dressed as 'some guy called Eddie' at her request and she dressed as Magenta. I had no idea what i was in for but i can honestly say, one of the most fun experiences i've had. Brilliant time, lots of costumes, memorable songs and everyone went WILD as Frank came out. I didn't really know what Rocky Horror was about until last night, didn't know the characters or songs or anything but i'm a total convert now. It's silly, it's naughty, it's VERY funny and i can't wait to see it again. Thank you so much.
I imagine the folks hating on this are only familiar with the movie, not the original stage show it was based on. My theatre troupe does the rhs every year (it funds the rest of our season) and this is one of my favorite iterations of the show

The glee version is too "pretty". Rocky Horror has to be derranged, and mainly, has to be fun for the actors. You can really tell that this cast is having so much fun in the stage

I thought this version was quite good. It is not meant to copy the actors who previously played the characters back in 1975....... it is a stage production nearly 40 years later......They had some great voices there.
The new riff raff from what I know is better for this but he did play frankfurter originally Honestly this would not be bad for another character and not that I'm against breaking script because that's what Rocky Horror is kind of about but it's not what I'd ever imagine riff raff would be like since it is so alike but so different I do believe when you can't match the script don't try to it would be better with a riff raff rendition
I think that it would be really difficult to be as good as the originals and obviously I agree that this Riff Raff doesn't looks like the original, but I still appreciatte the effort. So I liked it too.
I have an opinion on this whole video that I have to tell the puplic now. 1. The "original" sound which run up and down back in the time in our radio is stuck in my head so I cannot listen to this without saying I hate it. But 2. I love the look of the cast and their expression 3. I love the dance 4. I have watched the musical on video and now I wanna see it live. I hope this or next year will happen something
Here's the thing....the original has a B MOVIE feel too it....EXACTLY as it's supposed to...the later productions are WAY to "professional" all these people, with GIGANTIC voices blowing out windows and the roof off just Totally overwhelm the play AND don't fit in with it AT ALL....they're Screaming right over the Scene itself and right over the Characters. There's these trained singing instructors who have put out vids on youtube....and they're saying, rather snarkily, "you know, nobody in Rocky Horror was a Trained singer"....GOOD!!!! For instance, Susan Sarandon....not the strongest voice But GOOD, her voice was, like her character, vulnerable, naive, innocent. But these later singers just do NOT get that across with their on steroids vocals. Same EXACT thing with Barry Bostwick. And Richard O'brien ....his voice, as part of the character, conveyed creepiness, maliciousness etc....but the guys doing that character Now, just belt it out, with no character or regard for the scene At All. I saw one guy do Riff Raff's song from the tower window and, at the end, he just tacks on some random note that he bellows out for no reason other than demonstrating "Look what I can do"....what director lets that go on?? it's nuts! and TOTALLY distracts from the song, the mood, the character etc
those two are the ones who have been doing this play the longest! I like them, too. I LOVED the version when David Bedella, starring as Dr Frank, was in bed with Brad. They made it hilarious! check it out even you can. (it's on RUclips.)
Riff Raf improved so much over time, the full version in 2015 is outstanding and camera work was brilliant on it and David Bedella was absolutely amazing......
I LOVE this version! It all started off that Richard O'Brien was an actor that had extra time on his hands, so he whittled away some of that time by coming up with some musical scores. he showed his play to his director (I think it was? ), who helped him with the finishing touches. from there, they got some amateur actors and put on the play at a place known for amateurs experimenting with their ideas. it became such a hit , however , that they ended up taking it on tour. later they decided to try to turn it into a movie , and the guy who normally played Doctor Frank went on to star as Dr Frank in the movie as well. all of these were basically unknowns until this movie set them on the map. what many people may not know is that no one wanted to actually put out the movie once it was made so it stayed sitting in someone's drawer for a couple of years. in fact the movie probably would not have become so popular had it not been for a couple of wise cracks in a New York movie theater. the rest is history! this play has been produced for 40 years now. that's why I get upset when I hear people who don't understand the concept.
Some years ago the university in my city put on this show. I liked how they didn't try to copy the outfits from the movie. Frank n furter had pink and lavendar pastels, not black. But the best part of attending was having to cross through a picket line of the Phelps family from the Westboro Baptist Church. This is in Topeka and that's where I'm from. They were yelling at us as we went into the theater. At the one private home across the street the owner turned on his lawn sprinklet so it would get on them but the cops made him turn it off.

@TEAGUE MORRIS no it was made for the original stage show
Your comment is criminally underrated, your the only person that gives me hope for this fanbase
@@b.d6642 It was definitely in the 1973 stage play, but was later in the play originally. Maybe that confuses some?

I personally rather like the choreography
Big voices in this cast. I love it! Whoever is playing sax in this is killing it!

Seen them twice now, can't get over Officer Craddock from Heartbeat playing the narrator!
They were excellent
Better than the movie actually.
we always say it is a 'PG' - a few rude bits but nothing too shocking! under 10's not really welcome I'd say

Oh fantasy, free me
So you can't see me

In another dimension
With voyeuristic intention

With a bit of a mind flip
You're into the time slip
And nothing can ever be the same
You're spaced out on sensation.
Like you're under sedation
Let's do the Time Warp again
Let's do the Time Warp again
Well I was walking down the street
Just a-having a think
When a snake of a guy
Gave me an evil wink
He shook-a me up
He took me by surprise
He had a pickup truck
And the devil's eyes
He stared at me and I felt a change
Time meant nothing, never would again
Let's do the Time Warp again
Let's do the Time Warp again
It's just a jump to the left
And then a step to the right
Put your hands on your hips
You bring your knees in tight
