He's got a great West End/Broadway voice. Full of character and charisma. Not surprised he's performed in so many big shows - Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar, Rocky Horror etc
I was lucky enough to see Rocky Horror last week in Auckland with Richard as the narrator. It was awesome, he was incredible, and the show ended with him leading the audience and cast on a rocking version of Time Warp while he played electric guitar - can he really be 68?? Incredible
The most frightening amazing musical mind EVAR. ;P While it's not the full ensemble of the song, this alone has its own unique touch without a full cast of singers. I love this song, and Richard O'Brien's voice is just simply amazing.
Many artists perform songs differently in concert than in their original concept this benefits both the artist and the listener, for the artist it may not seem like it but it can become sheer drudgery performing the same exact stuff over and over it gives them an opportunity to break up the monotony and change things up a bit, at the same time the artist realizes the listener has heard this song repeatedly, still not as many times as they performed it but a lot, so it also gives the listener a different experience with the song, than the same identical version they have heard a million times
Ich sehe diesen O´Brien zum ersten mal und kann nur sagen: Hut ab, allererste Sahne. Der Rhytmus stimmt auch (meine Meinung). Hier ist Rock´n Roll u. Rock´a billy vereint.
Do you ever look up old youtube videos, look at when it was uploaded like this one, wondering what were you doing in your life when this was uploaded?.. I just did.
I just see this and think "phinese and ferns dad" o.O I know he's AHmazing on Rocky Horror but after discovering he's on P&F I can't look at the show the same lol
what i find so funny is how they casted him. I mean no disrespect, but considering how he made such a film like the rocky horror picture show, yet hired him to play a part in a childrens show. one day when those kids want to see what other things the voice actors have done, they will be in for the shock of their life. I guess they hired him because he is an amazing singer.
You're really whining over fact he was once on a show made for children (or as I like to call them...our FUTURE!" Seriously, dude, you are what is wrong this world. You;re so entitled that you feel it is your place to critique people out there who have done more with their than you ever will . As the Orange Freak who occupies the USA White House says: "SAD!!!"
Do you mean the Ink Thief? He was probably cast in that after a very successful run as the host of The Crystal Maze - a massive mainstream, family-oriented phenomenon.
He's the creator of cult classic called "Rocky Horror Picture Show". This song is probably the most famous song from the movie. I really recommend you watch the movie, it's fantastic!
@@classico1132 I must have been asleep when I posted that. Of course I know that song and danced to it at the CstleCon Rock Horror room that ran 24/7 in Virginia
He is so versatile. He channels so many singers and styles. As a bonus, he actually looks better the less hair he has.
He could have been frontman for any 1970s rock band. What a voice and what a charisma.
He's got a great West End/Broadway voice. Full of character and charisma. Not surprised he's performed in so many big shows - Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar, Rocky Horror etc
he wrote rocky horror
Fantastique
I love the Rockabilly tweak to this version.
LOVE this
Just love him so much. I see him and feel instantly happy! He's one special person 😊

Love him so much
I really like this stripped-down acoustic rendition. Not that the original's bad (it's not), but I enjoy this one.
now this is talent!

seriously talented man
that was fuckin EPIC!
he's fantastic!!
Absolutely beautiful!
Emotion. Fantastic. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Most excellent, I'd like to see the rest of the show....
Yes, he also created it.
Never caught the Rockabilly vibe before....;-)
that vibe was lost in the production of the time, but it screams rockabilly when you reduce it and strip it back
It’s especially apparent during the “It’s just a jump to the left...” pre-chorus part.
Glam rock is really 50s rock and roll with louder guitars and louder outfits.
Amazing
I love him, what he did in music, I`m still his "Fan"
damm that is amazing
Thanks for sharing !
*-* he's magic
Whoever put thumbs down -should not be living.

I just see this and think "phinese and ferns dad" o.O I know he's AHmazing on Rocky Horror but after discovering he's on P&F I can't look at the show the same lol
Barry Bostwick (Brad) played Linda’s father and Tim Curry played Dr. Lloyd Wexler and a bunch of other guest appearances
@merton1982 He's 70? Damn! He doesn't look it.
Mr. Hand, yes?
He sang most of it instead of saying it.
Supa :)
@inachu
He wrote the musical and played Riff Raff...
💕
It's like a really peculiar version of buddy hollie.

He wrote the Rocky Horror Picture Show--all the songs.
LordTakeshi he wrote the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and all the music. He cast himself in that part 👍👍👍

I don't find his comment critical.
Do you mean the Ink Thief? He was probably cast in that after a very successful run as the host of The Crystal Maze - a massive mainstream, family-oriented phenomenon.
Genius.....that describes Richard to a T!
Why are the audience not losing their shit I would be losing my shit
I know, right?
Looks like 3 people already went home :D #2014
I think I need to play the organ again, but my whole house is an utter lack..
HOW CAN THIS HAVE EVEN 1 DISLIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Probably from someone that got locked in and didn't have any crystals.
wow 10 year old comment. At least now nobody can see any dislikes lol.
@inachu
I saw the RHPS over 100 times now...... Is he the baldy dude with long hair in the back?
Yes
He wrote the script, songs ( lyrics and music ), and played Riff Raff.
he´s baldy, but thin and very attractive with 78 years
strange question for someone who's seen the film 100 times lol
@@karenKristal True but that is what I get for being hit by lightning back in 1997
