On average, police officers receive less than 6 months of basic training. Field training is often not required by law. Where it is required, officers receive an average of only 6 ½ weeks of real-world application. Without state mandated minimum hours or standards, departments can set guidelines that are inadequate. (Source: U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics)
In Arkansas, police officers require FAR LESS training compared to barbering and cosmetology professions. The Basic Peace Officer Course is only 520 hours (one of the LOWEST in the United States). Barbering school requires 1500 hours. (Source: Arkansas Commission on Peace Officers' Standards and Training / Arkansas State Board of Barber Examiners)
More than 71% of agencies devoted less than 5% of their total budget to police recruit training. Spending on training has increased in fewer than half of agencies over the past five years. (Source: Police Executive Research Forum)
Furthermore, police academies place an overwhelmingly disproportionate emphasis on combat tactics, such as weapons training, defensive tactics, and the use of force compared to de-escalation tactics - 165 hours against 21 hours, on average. (Source: U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics)
Consequently, what we are witnessing in police brutality, corruption, and excessive, unreasonable, and unnecessary use of force, including death, amounts to professional malpractice and can be linked directly to a series of training failures. In places like LA, Seattle, San Francisco or any STATE agency, many police make 250K or more. Do a FOIA for the top 100 salaried and hourly paid employees of your state. My bet, over 50% will be LEO'S and most Sargent and below, gobbling up overtime as they are 7 years from retirement..... gotta cash in because they get 75% of that average annual wage over 7 years as pension.

For real these weren’t like most cops on this channel these were the type of cops that being opened to a different prospective they weren’t used to could have actually worked but instead they were attacked and he lost his job. Iv seen so many countless true tyrant cops who understand the law only to get around it that get off with no punishment and i think the fact he was fired shows this was a rare police department who genuinely have the best intentions. I don’t usually call into departments but I did this one but have to call back tomorrow and I’m gonna leave a fantastic review and just add in how citizens and cops can’t be enemy’s but when an officer takes an oath to constitution it becomes the duty of the officer to uphold that and when no officers do that anymore but then demand obedience and if not followed to the letter then you get arrested and charged with everything possible then that makes the police the enemy . Police treat violating rights as if it’s no big deal but it is because rights actually don’t exist there just ideas and what gives them power is supposed to be Police and Government that’s why you take an oath to do that because when an officer not only doesn’t defend but is the one violating those rights then do those rights even exist anymore? Your going to jail and the justice system will come at you with everything they can and it’s all defense for possible lawsuit. Then your lawsuit likely gets thrown out bc qualified immunity and to fully go through to the end will cost 10’s of thousands in lawyer fees along with years and in practice you don’t really have any rights if not wealthy

It does, and it doesn't. It's kind of been an issue for more than a century in the USA. The feds IMO have no right to tell any state what their laws are as long as those laws do not violate the US constitution.
Like when the fed would come into states that had legal marijuana and raid the shops. That's stuff that should not be allowed. States are only unified under the US constitution and have no obligation on paper to follow federal laws. The federal government has become too big, and should never have that authority.

Holy shit, I can't believe that chief not only actually investigated his own officer but also implemented some pretty severe penalties. Now maybe he did that because he knew the officer already quit or was going to quit but I've seen way less punishment for way more severe actions of a LEO. Hell, they often get away with actual crimes with no consequences whatsoever. Good on that chief.

Or just throw you in jail 😬
And they don’t charge you for fixes
And only made money when they jail your car for you to bail out equally broken.

“You were looking up and to the right so you were lying”. I remember my dad (an ex sheriff’s deputy) getting that training and pamphlet telling officers you can tell when someone’s lying by watching which direction their eyes go. He used to do always try to inject that into arguments too to gaslight and claim people were lying in family arguments. What a joke. Lol

I signed up for the Army at 17 and could recite the 27 amendments and can still give you the definition of every word! Because when we swore the oath we had already come to terms with the likelihood we weren’t going to live a long life because it meant that much to us. What I see today makes my heart break! I love this country. It should never just be a PAYCHECK for ANYONE! Love it or fuckin’ leave it!

Thank you for your service! You are absolutely right in your conviction! This is what made America great. I love this country too but I'm also embarrassed by the political BS and it trickles down to us citizens. Cops are the worst. They get paid to bully, berate and batter its citizens. Abolish their damn qualified immunity. Disgusting!
