      The biggest thing I notice about these videos, is that when citizens accurately say the laws, the cops don’t recognize or remember ANY of it. To me it shows they literally never learned this in the first place.

      @@jiggerinokobalis609no state gives them ability to ID without RAS of a crime. Identify states require a crime, while other states you don’t have to ID until you’re under arrest.

      As far as cops are concerned the 4th Amendment does not apply until they, themselves, are arrested. When that happens the 4th is absolute according to them and their lawyers.

      One would hope that the court attempts to make cops refrain from these bullying tactics, but they won’t because they are not personally responsible for paying for lawsuits that could have been avoided. WE ARE.Now how many people ( citizens )will she continue to harass that are not aware of their constitutional rights?Some cops are on power trips,but to be successful at maintaining power they should know the constitution.

    He does, and that is a huge problem. If I was given a job and sent out to do the job only to find out the training I received was garbage, I would be mad.
    These cops are being sent out to do a job they haven't been properly trained for, and at some point, they need to direct their anger at the departments that fail them by not training them.

      This isn't really a training issue. This is a qualifications issue. A *LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER* should be required to already know the laws they will be required to enforce. They shouldn't need to receive taxpayer-funded "training", especially for something as basic as this.

    1- The supervisor deserves to be fired more than the woman, (who also VERY much needs to be fired, to be clear) because it is HIS job to tell that officer right then and there that she illegally stopped him, and he should be punishing his subordinates for this sort of tyrannical behavior.

      I'm a North Carolinan. Actually, I disagree.......... Think about it, it's rare to see a video like this from NC on RUclips. Yes, this stuff happens in NC. However, at a considerable lower rate than other states. Why? Because of that reference book "Crimes" and most importantly we do not have mayor's court or municipal courts. Moreover magistrates cannot sign warrants. While our legal system is far from perfect, it's considerably superior over many of the other states.

    I was trained as a police officer but never accepted a job in the field. While we did have classes on the law it was so much more about physical conditioning and certain procedures. There should be an additional month added just for law because clearly from so many audit videos it is needed. I even trained with people at the academy who I already thought had some power of entitlement issues. Thank goodness for auditors and their videos. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!

    So, it is CLEAR, this individual knows his rights. He is intelligent enough to understand his rights, and I would assume he knows that the police HAVE TO INVESTIGATE, calls, and/or complaints they receive. I would think any normal person would understand there might be complaints about a man riding a bicycle, stopping to take pictures around homes, might be questioned, as to what he was doing.. I know if a person, any person, stopped in front of my home, on a bicycle, got off and walked around my home, taking pictures, I would call the police, and then I would confront that person. I would probably have the person charged with trespass.

    NC law only requires you to ID if driving and stopped, or when ARRESTED. She's either utterly incompetent or totally corrupt.

      No state requires you to ID yourself without reasonable suspicion of a crime.
      The only scenario where you're required to provide ID (license) is for a traffic stop, which they also must have a valid reason to do. However, it's pretty easy to make up nonsense for a traffic stop (on top of they're not required to tell you what you were stopped for, before asking for your license).

It is truly baffling how all three officers show their complete ignorance of basic constitutional law and citizens rights. Its all about ego, and theirs was bruised. They are not adult enough to go "yep, you are not violating the law, you are free to go". They just cannot be adults. JBTS!

      Another possibility is that the police do know the law and knowing arrest a innocent person. They also know that no harm will come to them for breaking the law. The intended lesson is that if you don't do anything that police tell you to do you do it or else suffer the consequences. It doesn't matter what the law is or if you have rights.

      No the other 2 officers were going to let him go. When they had to deal with female cop instead of correcting her they supported her lack of understanding the law. This was a blatant we must protect the DEI environment. Where we have to lower the standards to keep get the numbers. That means lowering the rigor on training and hoping they will learn it on the jobs. Then violating the rights of citizens and not getting corrected. It's an injustice to cops because they do a bad job not knowing better.

    I would just remind her of my rights, not be a jerk and sue her. She is just investigating a complaint of suspicious person no matter how wrong the complainers were. She didn't know when to draw the line of the complaint vs this man's rights and needs some practice/education how to deal with this type of situation. Why crucify someone that's young and still learning their job? We need to help one another not hurt one another.

      It's just a way for everyone to be in the database for future investigations.

      I doubt she actually believes it. She was familiar enough with the law and her department issued legal reference manual to find the relevant text and copy and paste it verbatim into the charging document. That should be enough for her to lose qualified immunity and be held personally accountable for her actions.
