    Sounds sweet! My 06 Crown Vic will be needing a new plant, I am seriously doing what you did. Gutting all the electronics and going old school with it and that windsor will fit easy being much smaller outside than the 4.6 in there now.

    thanks alot bud, it sounds like you have a pretty mean machine of your own. As far as my exhaust goes I am running hooker super comp headers, and 2.5" exhaust till the rear where its 3". I am running dynomax bullet muffers. Cats are gutted so strait pipe more or less. As far as the carb goes im running a proform 850. This motor is 11.7.01 compression, I currently mix my race fuel .50/.50 with 93 octane pump gas.

      That thing sounds "Nasty" thinkin about making a street truck with 93-96 lighting kit and a 427W

    When I did the conversion to carb setup and my first Windsor. I eliminated almost all the electronics. Everything that was un-needed. That took a lot of weight off of the car between ecu, ac, smog, wiring and all that. Everything was re-wired. That was sort of a task though. Beyond that and a few other odds and ends it really wasn't all that bad.

      TheDman22088 whenever I get my carburetor conversion I used MSD 6al box. it only required one 12 volt ignition wire when to switch on and that was it. msd supplied power to the coil and the distributor. for me the wiring was very simple only one hot wire

    Man I love the way this sounds, I have an 81 LX with a 351 Windsor bored .30 over to 357, forged pistons arp pushrods head studs 544\548 cam shorty headers, but I want it to sound just like this! plz tell me you carb and how u have such a quick throttle response... exhaust? muffler? headers?? let me know ASAP thanks!

    Driving right now so I can't ask all the questions I want but the main question is how is the drivability and I'm trying to decide between a 408 and a 427. I'm going to be running AC and everything and the car won't be a daily, but I might drive it to work one or two days a week but definitely on the weekends. I have three car so I have to spread the love amongst them all LOL.

    I know a guy who nailed hos 67 GTO in his driveway like that and he was an experienced racer dont know why i think carb spring broke or something bit ended up across street into a brick house so sad

    I'm building a 427 right now and did a search and found you. Sounds really good. Is it a pump gas motor

    There wasn't really all that much for customization to be done. As far as the motor goes there's a machine shop down the road( Hershey's). Who have been building motors for 30+ years. Everything but having them do the long block was done at the house. When you switch to a Windsor motor it's pretty strait forward. The motor is a little wider but there's enough room in the engine compartment without cutting or anything. This has hooker super comp headers on it and they fit as well. They have 2" tubes and they fit better then the smaller tube bbk long tubes that was on it with the last motor. There was some modding to the motor mounts if I recall. Not really a big deal though. When I switched to c-4 I had to get a driveline custom made to fit.

      TheDman22088 just to point out I'm not a hater I love your car. But you remove a T5 and swap a C4 in and use the same mounts, crossmember, and driveshaft with no mods. with a 5.0 or 351w. if you had to do mods to your motor mount it has to be because of your headers because a V8 will sit in the exact same place as a 4-cylinder without any modifications.

      TheDman22088 excuse me i am referring to a 79 thru 94 mustang. there is no difference with the T5 C4 mounts crossmember for driveshaft. It may be different on the 94.up.

    Your motor setup sounds alot like my first setup that I had with a stock block bored .60 over with holley 650 carb, afr 185cc heads with 58cc combustion chambers. and a edelbrock performer rpm camshaft. with the stock t-5 tranny when I had everything tuned in correctly I ran consistently 12.teens and twentys with M/T street slicks unless I screwed up shifting or launch. what for heads are you running?
