    Thanks for this, it was so helpful! I am a current medical school applicant and my husband just mentioned a few nights ago that I should try sending a letter of intent to my in-state program (I applied a little late, haven't heard anything, and getting nervous) and I was unsure if that was something people even do! So this was perfect.
    One of my weaker areas is clinical experience, and I just landed a job as a medical assistant a few days ago, so it would also be a good way to update them and let them know I am actively strengthening myself as a candidate for medical school throughout the cycle.

      Great! Glad it helped! But remember, only send a letter of intent if you can commit to going to the school. If there's ANY chance you would go elsewhere, make this a letter of interest.
